Yes, it's annoying and roundabout; but at least you can see what you want and what it looks like before blindly wasting VC on something it turns out you don't like.Comment

My friend mentioned that if you reset your hair you have to buy the same hairstyle again.Comment

Re: NBA 2k18 - Another VC grind fest?
No mention of us starting at a 60 instead of a 55 overall like years past? That's tens of thousands of VC jump before plugging in the game lol.
And not knowing the hairstyle you like sounds more like a personal issue than a sinister vc 2k grab. Do you like mohawks? No/Yes? "Click".
Also... seeing TONS OF 60/61'S btw.Last edited by MoodMuzik; 09-15-2017, 01:30 PM.Comment

He didnt. He just said that rpg/mmo based games has a way to allow you to reset your attributes and since 2k is pretending to go that route, they should have a similar system but hey VC >>>>>>>>> *

NBA 2k18 - Another VC grind fest?
Well yeah. You gotta find some shrines in some of the major cities in the game.
Can you put down your cape for a sec and admit that some of these changes are purely, motivated by "greed" ? or shady? Not fair to the customer ?[emoji848]

Re: NBA 2k18 - Another VC grind fest?
Given that the rating you're given in MyCareer is not representative of the overall rating you'd get for the same attribute ratings in a roster, I don't think that's a valid argument.

They are employing the same sort of dirty tricks that F2P games use to capitalize on addictive personalities. Those subset of customers that will drop a ton of money on their game. While structuring the core game in such a way(elongating the grind, hiding more and more things behind currency walls, making it impossible to compete in certain modes competitively without investing real money) to elicit transactions from the larger community, just on a smaller scale then the addicts. Where attaining real world currency for the developer is baked into the core gameplay loop they are designing. Heck, just look at the app they signal everyone to go to to get a few extra VC a day. An app set up as a blatant F2P cash grab that tries to fish you in on that platform as well.
This is why it is unhealthy to have a market space with few, if any competitors like the NBA and NFL market does.Comment

I mean it shouldn't be this hard to recognize what they are doing.

I can understand it (begrudingly) as it relates to the online community, it's become a pretty common feature in most games which feature competitive multiplayer.
This business with stripping down the Create A Player suite, and the design decisions within a featured offline mode(My Career) which clearly seem constructed to increasingly heavily disincentivize earning currency through offline play in each successive iteration however,is getting out of hand.Comment

Re: NBA 2k18 - Another VC grind fest?
Wow. Just realized that this was by design. I thought maybe it's just because it's like your throwaway look that you will not have access to more than 4 haircuts, no facial hair and no sculpting and what not and that you'd get it once you actually start MyCareer properly but all this is locked away too? Wow. That is massively shady.
How on earth can you lock all that away? I mean last year people could argue that it's all extra but since when is having the option to customize your appearance in the most basic way optional in a game that costs between 50 and 100 bucks? That's bad. I don't even know what to say honestly. It might even be grounds for legal action since it wasn't advertised anywhere and it basically means you get half a game.Comment

Modes are OPTIONAL. Prerelease information is not some guaranteed right we have, and unless 2K is actually, factually contradicting itself as it relates to prerelease VC, it's all just tough luck.
To be clear, I HATEwithahatethatburnslikehellfire VC, DD in the Show, MUT, ALL the microtransaction/card collecting/marketplace CRAP that has taken over sports video games. But it's here, and it's not going anywhere. I just ignore it, play franchise, and lament that that mode is going the way of the dinosaur because of it.Comment

Anyway... I can't even play franchise mode like I want since they, for some reason, decided not to allow you to use custom rosters in MyGM.Comment
