Re: Anyone else want badges removed?
Hot zones, cold zones should be kept. They actually affect how certain players play. It encourages spot-up shooters who are good in certain positions to play in them. It encourages mid-range shooters to shoot from the mid-range from a certain side.
Badges should be removed as boosts that affect gameplay. They can be kept as indications of what each player is and what they're good at.Comment

Re: Anyone else want badges removed?
Badges are just fine. The only problem is letting players have too many. I think people forget that 2k13 and 2k14 were just fine when players had a limited amount of signature skills/badges, and people actually LOVED the idea of them. In 2k13, you had 5, and you had 7 in 2k14. The problems began when they removed the sig skill/badge number limit.
Nix the HOF badges, and go back to the 7 sig skill/badge limit. That way, you only have 7 skills that assist in your actual playstyle. None of this 40 badge BS.
That system allowed for a 3 and D set up, or an Athletic Freak like Shawn Kemp.
Yeah, there were a lot of similar builds, but it also limited options. You could still be good at everything to an extent, but you could only specialize in a couple things. Honestly, I'd take that system. I bet the community would throw a fit halfway through though.

Re: Anyone else want badges removed?
2k14 had it perfect. 3 personality badges and 7 signature skills.

Archetypes for online should've been amazing. 2K caved on the community not being satisfied by being the greatest of all time at every thing despite archetype/position/wingspan/height... you know, everything that's supposed to matter.Comment

I would like badges to be kept but the amount of tiers need to be toned down. Grand badges definitely need to go.
I want these kept but should be separated from online/offline Myplayer wise. It's silly that I am punished for playing on HOF in MyCareer because When you go to the park w/ cold or neutral zones because of that its hurts your shooting a lot. While people play on Rookie and get all their hotzones red and it transfers to online.
One of the reasons I don't play Mycareer anymore. But same could be said for the way to get badges. People just put the game on Rookie. While people that play on higher difficulties have a tougher time.Last edited by Jrocc23; 07-08-2017, 07:06 PM.HATE LOSING MORE THAN I LOVE WINNING!

Re: Anyone else want badges removed?
What people asked for, was to be able to hit 3's as a Glass Cleaner. Or to be a Marksmen as a Slasher. Or to be a Defensive Stopper that could also be a Shot Creator.

Re: Anyone else want badges removed?
Do it all builds are fun. People get butt hurt over everyone reaching 99 overalls as if stick skills don't matter. When 2k addresses defense in the correct manner, being maxed out won't even matter because correct defensive adjustments from the user will negate most offenses online.Comment

Re: Anyone else want badges removed?
People wanted their players to be different and they wanted to cut down on exploits. Badges and archtypes were supposed to do that. Remember, everyone disliked the 7 foot my players that could do everything, so 2k tried to do something. Now people in this thread want to go back.Comment

Re: Anyone else want badges removed?
They need to get rid of badges that have a rating that should be used such as deadeye. There's a contested shot rating why do we need a badge too?Comment

Re: Anyone else want badges removed?
Thanks for proving my point. about 90% of you said badges should be either removed or scaled back significantly. Like someone else said before, there's no need for badges that boost attributes for the sake of boosting.
There's no need for"deadeye" badges when there's already contested shot attributes. Same can be said about "catch & shoot", "acrobat", and "hustle rebounder". All they do is add fantasy / artificial boosts that shouldn't exist to their given rating. Hot/cold zones are fine, but don't give me a full court worth of zones (seen in MyTeam primarily) because that completely negates the purpose of shooting attributes.
On the contrary, badges like "brick wall", "charge card", & "pick dodger" are perfectly fine because there's not a given rating to justify these intangibles. Just make badges 1 level & that's it. I don't wanna see screens laying out my guards every possession.
Also, who's "complaining" that they want 2k to cheese the game up for NBA JAM style of play? All I ever see people here is thriving & begging for a more sim experience, including myself.Comment

Re: Anyone else want badges removed?
I think badges like hustle rebounder are interesting. You have point guards who are good at their position in rebounding but don't deserve a high rebounding rating.
