Re: NBA 2K18 Video - Developer Diary: The Art Behind the Game
Shoutout to all of us guys who've been playing b-ball games for 30+ years (either on the Atari or NES). We've came a long way, gentleman. I mean, we have stretch marks now. If you would have told my 10-year-old self in 1990 that we would have came this far I would not have believed you.
Now sing it with me "Started from the bottom now we're here...."

Re: NBA 2K18 Video - Developer Diary: The Art Behind the Game
It's tough to criticize 2k when you can clearly see the work they've put in this year. Graphically it looks so much better than last year. BUT...some things still look a bit off with the player models. Really just the lower half of them.
This video could be an older build, so some of my criticisms may have been addressed. But here's what I still see...
1. Legs are still a bit stumpy and short. THey look to be a clear foot shorter than real life. Gobert and KD really stand out. There knew to foot ratio seems like 40% off.
2. Waists look way too tiny. My guess is that they wanted to make legs look longer, so they shrunk the waist to give that optical illusion.
3. They have no glutes. I know it sounds odd, but it makes a big difference when comparing real life to 2k. Lebron in particular looks like he's wearing a kilt when he goes up for the dunk. If you were to see a side by side, you'd understand what I'm saying.
4. Shorts still look at tad too long. Current fashion trends are also moving toward shorter shorts. The shorts may also just look long due to the short legs.

It's really tough creating a cover these days. First the trade rumors, then the new jerseys... he might as well dye his hair and shave the beard to make it harder. My Specs:

Re: NBA 2K18 Video - Developer Diary: The Art Behind the Game
Perhaps different builds too? In the pic you posted Durant looks a bit longer and lankier but hard to tell because on screenshot is an action shot.
For the people pointing out some of the flaws, not going to argue and I completely agree with the sentiment that constructive criticism will only lead to more improvements (it clearly worked last year going to this year); however I think the majority of us are just more than satisfied with the upgrades made. If this was a slight improvement most of us would be critiquing the hell out of the screenshots and video but, with the strides they made in multiple areas, it's difficult to nitpick about some of the inconsistencies. If they happen to make a few tweaks here and there, great, but if we have to wait until next year for them to address some of the flaws pointed out of can live with it.Comment

That pic looks much better. I'm hoping it's from a newer build. Because it's def not the same model as the video. IMG_5656.JPGComment

Re: NBA 2K18 Video - Developer Diary: The Art Behind the Game
Like I said before, clips from this video are probably from a month ago and the builds could've changed a few times since then regarding KD. That screenshot with Curry shows his bodytype is accurate. Be aware also that angles make a ton of difference too as with his leg extended it looks a lot more like the screenshot:
