I am intrigued. Might you have a link or quote for context?

Separately, for those who missed this in the gameplay blog, there were some confirmed additions of a form of dribble signatures/styles.

Here’s the list of styles: Base, Big, Power, Fundamental, Quick, Slasher, Shifty, James Harden, LeBron James, Magic Johnson, Kobe Bryant, Jerry West, Dennis Johnson, John Stockton, Allen Iverson, Tim Hardaway, Steve Nash, Jason Kidd, Isiah Thomas, Chris Paul, Damian Lillard, Russell Westbrook, Kyrie Irving, Kemba Walker, Stephen Curry, Paul George, and Kawhi Leonard.

Unfortunately I probably won't be able to get a clip because Ronnie streams on Caffeine and you can't go back and watch previous streams like Twitch. Someone asked him if they added any new classic teams and Ronnie said something along the lines of, "I can't talk about it yet, but I can say that we have added some teams."

I'm assuming we won't get many, if any, actual "classic teams" like many of us would prefer. But keeping with the trend of them adding more recent teams, I wouldn't mind seeing the Cavs team to square off with the Warriors, Lakers team with Pau, Kobe, Spurs team that won a chip with Kawhi, Dwight Howard finals team..

Would be cool to see them bring back the previously removed Sixers team since they got Moses back in the game. They would only need a player or two more to get a 10ish man roster, and if they used the championship year team they wouldn't even have to worry about Barkley.

Those first couple teams you mentioned were suggested multiple times in those reddit feedback threads that they send over to 2K. Wouldn't surprise me at all if those were the teams they added.

Here's hoping it doesn't come with any caveats like other teams being removed.

I agree with you on pretty much all fronts here. Just seems like the easiest route for these guys (understandably so) would be to add classic teams that have as many resources that already exist as possible, which would lean heavily toward more modern clubs.

The idea of adding that 2016 Cavs team was sort of controversial a couple years ago on account of it just seeming like a copy of a current team (as the '16 Warriors basically were). I think it makes complete sense to add them to the fold though, particularly when considering that the '16 Warriors are in (who the Cavs obviously beat) and it's the apex of LeBron's Cleveland run.

I wouldn't even be mad at a Kobe-Pau Lakers team. Makes sense considering what teams are already in.

All that said, I'd always welcome more retro classics. It'd be nice to see those 80's Sixers return, just as you said. I miss having that Spectrum court art available.

Also, totally random and I don't have close ties to this team or anything, but I kind of wish they'd find a way to add the 1977 Trail Blazers. Those 1977 76ers are such a cool team but they have no realistic opponents. I feel like it could be a pretty radical experience if Julius Erving was given some authentic signature layups and dunks and Bill Walton looked like Blazers Walton.

But I recognize the older teams are a pipe dream. Makes a lot more sense for the recent classics considering the demographic and ease of addition. Frankly, if what Singh says holds true, it'll just be nice to have any additions at all.

As a Nuggets fan, each year I hope they’ll add the 2008-09 Nuggets squad. Their starting 5 is already in the game on various legends teams or the ‘08 Nuggets team:

                Chauncey Billups (‘04 Pistons)
                Dahntay Jones (‘06 Grizzlies)
                Carmelo Anthony
                Kenyon Martin
                Nenê

Then JR off the bench is already in the game, and try to add any of AC, Kleiza, Balkman & Bird. (Bird also fits a need for the ‘08 Hornets & ‘13 Heat)

My fingers are crossed for this team to appear in 2K20, but I’m not overly optimistic because the general/casual hoops fan is more satisfied with the AI/Melo squad that was unsuccessful in real life.

I doubt this team will be added just because the Melo/Iverson team already in the game. But it would be a really fun team to play with

I'm usually cool with morphing teams myself (i.e. turning the '04 Pistons into '05 if I desire) but the trouble with doing that for those Nuggets teams is that Chris Andersen had such a unique look that can't be replicated via create-a-player. Beardless, spiked hair, all the tatts. He obviously wasn't a star on that team but I thought he helped define who they were.

I’m sure everyone saw the post for the new classic teams. The only true surprise is the 2003 Suns (I would have much preferred 2010, or obviously the 1993 squad). Looks like some legend renders are already improving with Jamison

I'm hoping he did some extensive work on the classic teams and players. Specifically*

                        TMac
                        Stackhouse
                        89 and 91 Pippen
                        2006 D Wade
                        2007 LeBron James*
Every Vince Carter that is not current
                        Allen Iverson*
                        1989 Pistons Rodman
                        2006 Heat Alonzo Mourning*

Those are the most egregious I could think of at the moment*

To be fair, 2K has had a pretty good track record of updating and improving upon legends player models from as far back as 2K17. However with R4zor on board now I'm really hoping all of the classic players should be addressed. If the Arenas and Antawn Jamison screenshot is any indication, I'm at least encouraged. I don't think that's the same Antawn from 2k19 My Team. So hopefully that's encouraging.

Really excited about Razor on board now. Question is how far into development of 2k20 until Razor started working? Also, how much is he allowed to do with legends and current players from upper management and what other tasks has he been given? I'm very curious about this and I'm excited to see finished product and hopefully when 2k20 drops, we get a better idea of what Razor has done with it and what will happen moving forward.

Wait, all shorts are like that now? Or it's editable? There's still lots of dudes wearing them lower than that.

Edit: Nevermind. We literally just saw photos today (and screenshots) showing normal length.

The fact that we already have a new Jamison gives me hope that we will see some new legend renders day one. It’s great that we will have better faces, but I hope they pay more attention to detail for retro this year
