I wish I knew the details behind why some of these guys get pulled...I'm extra salty about Manu this year but I know 2K didn't just pull him for the hell of it..

    Ugh.

Ginobili has been retired for a full season so his rights aren't attached to having a licensing agreement with the NBA now. He either needs to join the retired players association or they need to go get his rights individually. But the only way he won't be back is if he doesn't want to be. And I seriously doubt that's the case.

They had all last year to get the rights to Ginóbili and David West because they knew they retired, yet they just let them disappear from the game.

Also the Heat should still have Joel Anthony, he’s just lower than the generic players at a 64, so he didn’t scroll that far down lol
Have you relayed that onto the guys at 2K that are active on Twitter? Maybe a screenshot of the message with Ronnie Brewer or whatnot

I find it a little ironic that there are people that have no interest classic teams and players that have made threads and post about how 2k should stop wasting their time with this aspect of the game. Then there are those of us that do care and we basically have the opposite reaction of "2k isn't doing enough for the classic teams and legends." Just shows the range of fans this game has and how difficult it must be for 2k to please every group of fans.

People forget 2K lost Steve Nash for like a month once they lost his rights, then added him mid-season. We don’t know yet if they lost Manu or just couldn’t add him to the game in time to be on the release copy. Feels odd that they’d add the 2014 spurs knowing one of their best players was going to be taken out.

Definitely worth the reminder that we need to keep things in perspective. We now have:

                  1. Close to 70 classic teams

                  2. Multiple signature classic player dunk packages

                  3. Multiple signature classic dribble packages

                  4. Multiple classic signature animations (Jordan's palm fake, Carter's motor rev, Deke's finger wag)

                  5. The addition of dozens of great looking retro jersey additions in 2K19 (and seemingly a couple more in 2K20)

                  6. The possibility of being able to adjust shorts length

                  7. Oodles of legends who don't have an actual real-life classic team

                  8. Ability to copy and paste players by appearance, DNA, or both, the ability to edit names

                  9. A CAP system that allows folks to create and upload some very real-to-life fill-ins for the players missing.

It's always fun to push the needle forward and think of even more additions and alterations (more accurate classic accessory colors, for instance) but it's pretty incredible to have what we have at this point.

The people who think they should stop “wasting” time on legends are all the people that play Park and get bored with the game a couple months in and blindly call it trash. No, the game is only dull for YOU because you play the same generic game mode every year.

2k’s advances in legends and more importantly, roster editing (rebrands, Player DNA, CAP, etc.) keeps it fresh for me every year. I wouldn’t still be playing 2k if all we had was MyCareer, Park, and MyTeam (although MyTeam is a huge reason legends keep getting added because they are now profitable).

Before the 2k18 release I tried to contact Ronnie and the only answer he gave was "I'm not responsible for this"

They need to improve the arenas Sound of the classic teams. There is no difference between the MSG of Knicks 94 with Chicago stadium for example (or classic Forum of the lakers). I love the defense crowd of the lakers in Inglewood forum. Or piano organ from MSG.
Thats why in My League I always put classic roster of Bulls in the curent’ bulls’ team, you have the real arena’s sound. Same with current Knicks team, You have the organ of the MSG (but not in 94 or 99 Knicks, wtf). Same with’ Pacers or Lakers if You want real sounds.
And I think its the same for’ All Time Teams, there isnt real arena sounds. Its maybe some details, but when you always play with the same sound of crowd of default arena, its very Boring.

You know what used to really help with these arena sound issues? Custom arena sounds. Still quite displeased that the game (or gaming system) has actually gone significantly backward in this regard over the past seven years.

Great news! I saw Dana Barros, Tim Legler, Sam Mitchell, Theo Ratliff, Joe Smith, Bob Sura, Jeff Foster, Paul Silas, Kenny Walker, and Swen Nater all as rewards in MyTeam in CashNasty's latest video. That's 10 new players (hopefully not just MyTeam exclusive) and it makes more optimistic that they got more guys considering he showed only the rewards.

.....and that’s now 9 players from the 96-97 Pistons that 2K has the rights to (and 5 from the 1979 Sonics).

Also six players from the 1975-76 Celtics. I should also state that Grant Long and Jerome Williams stated they were interested in being in 2k back after the All-Time teams were first released for 2k18 (not sure if they still do), which would make it 11 players for the 1996-97 Pistons.

Update: I didn't notice this earlier but in Cash's first video from today, I noticed Desmond Mason for 100 wins on Triple Threat.
