Re: LEGENDS Thread - NBA 2K18 & beyond: (Accessories, jerseys, sig styles etc)
I still think that there will always be something missing, even if every player has all his signature moves. And that is the way each player walks/runs. MJ had a very distinctive way of walking/running, and many players have their own way. Until this is implemented in the game, there will always be something missing.
I'm just watching game 3 of the 1990 Bulls-Pistons series now. Even if the picture quality isn't great and the camera zooms out, I can always spot MJ, just by seeing the way he walks/runs.
I don't know who can imitate walking/running of NBA players (it's very hard to do it), but if it ever gets added (or at least have 10-15 different styles to choose from), it can make a huge difference.Comment

Re: LEGENDS Thread - NBA 2K18 & beyond: (Accessories, jerseys, sig styles etc)
Yeah, those celebrations shouldn't be there.
And a little rant -
SpoilerAanother thing about today's celebrations: I hate them. No, it's not how players actually celebrate (well, I hate that too!), but it's the lack of spontaneity - celebrations have become something players practice doing and it's almost as if they do it if front of a mirror at home until they are satisfied with it, and in the right moment they showcase it making sure that it is broadcasted on TV...
The worst was when LeBron hit a game winner a couple of years ago(?). Then he took the time, walked a few steps, stood facing the crowd or the camera and performed his well-practiced celebration. It's almost as if in the near future players will make a play, then the lights will go off and just a single light will shine on them in the middle of the court while they are performing their celebration to a pre-selected music tune, while their buddy filming them with their phone and uploading it to social media 2 seconds later to have fans "appreciate" it...and then lights will come on, and the game will continue.
Think of MJ's celebration after "The Shot" in 1989 vs Cleveland. Imagine he would practice it until he gets it perfect (well, it was perfect that time) and perform it every time he made a nice play.
I am getting older, I know, but I despise so much of what's become of the NBA in the 21st century.Last edited by youvalss; 09-08-2017, 07:27 PM.My Specs:

Re: LEGENDS Thread - NBA 2K18 & beyond: (Accessories, jerseys, sig styles etc)
Yeah....after watching that Bulls v Warriors video - there's like ZERO sig stuff in for legends.
Couple that with what you guys have said - about MJ hitting a shot and celebrating like one of today's stars - nope. Nope, nope, NOPE.
Half the time MJ didn't even react, even hitting big baskets or and 1's. The guy was strictly business and left all that playground crap at home.
Similar to what youvalss mentioned - just solidifies my loathing to what the NBA has become. I cut off my sports package subscription a few years ago now, I can't stomach today's game, it has zero charm. Spend most of my days watching 80's and 90's hoops.-----------------------------------------

I'm interested in giving that a shot but I'm wondering how and why a guy like Joe Dumars would ever have a personality setting that wasn't already laid back. I have a currently unfounded feeling that setting won't affect things like the spin-away-from-shot-to-look-at-crowd animation.Comment

This may be biased, but I think retro Vince Carter deserves a major overhaul of his signature moves and skills. Feels to generic for the legend of dunk.
At least bring back his dunk package. Why does the [emoji238] dunker not have a dunk package in the game?

best dunker in the nba ever i think, some of these dunks iv never seen someone with the body control and flare, and with such ease in the air.Comment
