    Re: New CAP system

I give them props that they listen to the community on a lot of matters but all they had to do in my book was add hairstyles, add body types (which it seems myPlayer has from a earlier video they had about graphics), update the graphics for CAPs, give the jumpshot creator for CAPs at least and I would be happy with that, would love tattoos but if that wasn't in at least adding the things I mentioned would have worked fine without taking away.

Seems the community For CAP creators isn't heard as much if things have regressed in options.....will wait and see....hopefully its not that bad

Franchiseplay should be releasing a video soon about this so im keeping an eye out for that to see what's the deal, hopefully he found something i didnt in the many videos i seen.
I had 8 full fictional draft classes planned out with ready to go CAPs and everything that I was just going to transfer over to 2k18 when it came out and release it to the community

Probably just gonna wait until 2k19 now

They removed the freedom of sculpting and added number presets for noses, mouth, chins, skull height, skull width.

Quicker creations, less detailed players. Don't expect one CAP creator to stand out over the other. Still no tattoos and I dont know about body types yet.
Fans have been complaining about 2K's CAP for years. It's so far behind other sports titles. So it makes total sense for them to go BACKWARDS.

Removing them is the wrong term. They had to build this new CAP system from scratch, and obviously didn't have time to recreate all the features we were used to. It sucks, but probably unavoidable if we wanted CAP to progress. Hopefully they can reintroduce them next year.

Is this confirmed? I'm still holding a little bit of hope since the preset heads have varying shapes.

I doubt that they "didn't have time". I would've been fine with the CAP system being just how it was in 2k17 with the addition of some better graphics, tattoos and the ability to choose player body types. We already know tattoos aren't in, i'm doubting that body types are, so what's that leave?

They took away 95% of the creativity in the CAP system just to throw in some better graphics (which honestly, imo, aren't even that good. The graphics are really cartoonish)

Omit is probably the better term. I don't think it's unavoidable, 2K has often times been good at continuing to build upon features they have in a game on a yearly bases. CAP system has already taken a backwards dive when 2k14 dropped for the next gen consoles where they didn't have any customization options. To build on the CAP feature (as minor as it's been) then omit out is just a weird way for them to do things in my opinion. You may be correct though that it's necessary but with so much emphasis on myPlayer (MyCareer mode) where you are using a CAP system, a regression is plan weird.

You think there's any chance that the MyPlayer CAP System is different from the Roster/Draft Class CAP System?

Because WOW did they gut that entire thing. I mean you can't even change the players skin tone from what I can see? I don't even see an option to change the players hair?

That's just insane. There must be a different system for the roster and draft class creators

I almost want to think that myPlayer will be slightly different than normal CAP since using myPlayer you have to get haircuts and such for you player to change hairstyles....at least I am hoping for it to be different in that regard

It has to be because there's no way they're going to give us a CAP system where we can't even change the players skin tone.

                          Or is there?

Again we're going of on a video showing off the preset heads. They have yet to go to the edit part. You guys are ready to jump of the ledge when there is no vid showing off the whole thing. There are preset faces with varying headshapes. So there must be a part to edit jawline, cheeks etc...

I'm going to wait for some hard evidence before following you guys off the ledge.

Well all of the nose sets, eyebrows, eye colors and all that good stuff was in that same section with the presets.

In 2k17, there was a section in the CAP system titled "Features" where you can edit the players cheeks and stuff like that. Maybe the section we're seeing in this video is the "Features" section and all of the other sculpting and whatnot is in a different section

It's a bit of a stretch, but knowing 2k, I think what we're seeing in this video is what we're getting unless there's 2 different CAP systems for MyCareer and the Offline gamemodes
