I’ve always done MYGM, seem MYleague is the better option his year from my reading. I’d love to have more control but not continusouly have to hit no or rebuild.Still want the CPU teams to operate as if they were the CPU.I don’t care how they set their rotations, or who they sign to fill out the roster.

    Tips/ideas?
Trades: What I do is I set the "CPU" teams to auto for trades, but turn on trade approval. AI teams will make trades with one another this way, but I'll be allowed to review them first and decide whether or not I think it makes sense for the involved teams. If you don't want to review trades, you can just set trades to Auto and "Trade Approval" off and then the AI will just freely trade with one another.

Injuries: You can set lineup-management type stuff to Auto so that the AI will respond to injuries themselves.

MyLeague allows you to pretty much customize any little detail that you personally want to handle; it's pretty great.

Help - is it possible to adjust the injury frequency after the MYGM has started?

          2. Don't draft ANYONE who can't play in the NBA. If he's in the 60's, he better be having a 1 or 2 gold coin by his name to stash in Europe because he won't develop enough to play in the NBA.

          3. The G-League only works with two-way contracts. Not if they are already on your roster.

          4. The G-League is great is it's the only way for some players with low potential or terrible overall to develop but ONLY if they are on a two-way contract. Sending players to the G-League who's signed to the team just doesn't work.

          5. All of the players hate playing in the G-League in this game. That being said, players can really improve, vastly improve or in some cases get much much worse. The Stephen Zimmerman G-League player becomes a superstar in the NBA overall wise. Josh Okogie from my draft class becomes a stud. But most players don't become superstars from the G-League. They usually develop 6-8 points if they stay the entire season. Some have massively improved like 15-20. Some massively get worse, I have seen a player go from 55 to 44 in two seasons in the G-League. I've seen removed the player and replaced him in my class. But this is the only way borderline guys stay in the league.

This is an excellent feature, to be frank. It really helps because literally, a lot of guys would be out of the league without it. For the most part, guys with a good potential and in the low 70's never go to the G-League. For the guys who do, most never improve more than 6-8 points which is enough to get them to the NBA and to be an asset to someone's team.

          6. Look to sign players who really fit your system and team. If they have four stars and they are the low 70's, they will develop at a much higher rate than their actual potential. Then again, miss on a player and you will see your team performance struggle and you will see that player and others around him get slightly better each year if they get better at all.
I'm having a hell of a time trying to find players to fit my system. I know I can see how a player will fit on my team if they are already in FA, but how can you tell if they can during the draft? Or if you are trying to trade for one?

Without changing his position to PG...

In the vitals section of the player edit screen, turn Play Initiator to ON and I think that should fix it.

AFAIK, contracts for Embiid and Wiggins are updated. Aldridge, unsure.

Re: Official NBA 2k18 MyLeague/MyGm Thread

In my MyLeague (which I started before updated opening night rosters were released), Joel Embiid signed a 3 yr/80 mill extension.

Whereas IRL, he signed the crazy 5 yr/146m deal.

I want to edit his contract to match the IRL extension, as I think it's a bit low. But when I go to Edit Player -> Contract, I cannot exceed 26.02 mill annual salary. After 26.02M it skips to the 799K minimum and vice versa.

Even for the 3rd year of his extension, which is currently at 27.90M, I cannot edit and lower or raise it, or it just goes back to 26.02 or 799K.

In free agency, guys are signing for 40 million per year, yet I couldn't edit their contracts if I wanted to because of the 26.02 cap?? This seems silly ...

Am I missing something here? Is there a workaround for this?

                      WHAT. A. GAME.
                      Celtics(user) vs Bucks
I was down by 22 after 1Q. Bucks dropped 47 ****ING POINTS IN 1Q I was heated to say the least. But i didnt give up. Chipped away and was down only 6 at halftime.

I was down allll gameee longggg. Every time i either tied or came within 4 they pulled away again. Quarter 4 was back and forth the entire 12 minutes. Jabari Parker nailed a 3 to TIE THE GAME with just 3.7 seconds to go.
Then, the magic happened. Kyrie runs the floor, horford sets the screen at the 3 point line Kyrie drives gets passed his man goes up adjusts his shot to avoid a block from Henson and rolls it off his fingers to win the game!! No time left!

                      Celtics win 134-132
                      Key game notes:
Both teams shot 51%, both teams has 82 points in the paint. Bucks shot 44% from 3 while i only shot 21%

                      Key Celtics notes
The good: 50 boards 18 offensive to 35 boards 6 offenaive. 18 pts off offensive rebounds.
The bad: allowed 40....yes 40 fast break points. 19 turnovers resulting in 23 points for the bucks.

                      Key Player stats:
                      Irving:43-3-7
                      Horford:19-7
                      Noel: 13-26
                      Giannis:40-10-13

kyrie and noel undoubtably won me the game. one of the most fun yet frustursting games ive played. Celtics move to 4-1 on the year.

Has anyone figured out this player/team development in mygm? (I don’t play ML but I assume it’s there as well) is really like some in season development. But I also don’t want to put all this time into setting up training and practices for nothing

Wouldn’t shutting off the hard cap mark mygm more playable? Just sim with the hard cap off in my league and George, Thomas, Durant all sign with there teams. Cause, there isn’t no hard cap in the nba if I’m not mistaken. I really want to play mygm but it sucks when Durant goes unsigned and George signs with the nets for 1 year. I understand you can’t turn off the hard cap in mygm but Isnt it something they would patch in?

Have you guys played around and found sliders you like for progression and regression?

I tried simulating 5 seasons into the future and found this:

                              2018:
                              18 90+ players
                              22 85-89 players

                              2023:
                              20 90+ players
                              35 85-89 players

Obviously the 90+ part is pretty promising, but there's too much development going on in that 85-89 range for my liking. In particular, the draft-and-stash guys progress way too much. I've had those guys go up by 8-10 points in one year. It's pretty crazy.
