Re: Official NBA 2k18 MyLeague/MyGm Thread
BUT, from just simming year 1 and most of the offseason, I'd say MyGM is a terrific fit for story elements.
At one point one of my players missed practice so he, the coach, and I had a meeting to discuss it. I could decide between letting him off with a warning, punishing him, or fining him.
Also I think the story did a excellent job of illustrating the "unique challenges" of hands on owners that exist in every sport.
Like I said, there was one point where the game forced a trade through, but I failed to mention an important fact: I was left with the impression that it only happens if you yourself attempted a trade but had your offer rejected. You get a message saying they must have had a last minute change of heart.
All in all from what I saw I am digging this new take on the mode, and may opt for this over ML if they patch in the ability to use custom rosters.
Staying is just as part of the story as relocating. It is a branchable story.Last edited by ggsimmonds; 09-16-2017, 08:29 AM.Comment

Yeah introducing some story elements will require some trade offs and compromises, there is no way around that.

No idea. I never started year 2.

Re: Official NBA 2k18 MyLeague/MyGm Thread
Random issue I've encountered;
In my Knicks rebuild I accumulated three 1st round picks and two 2nd round picks. Decided to trade two of the 1st round picks and keep the highest.
However every time I make the second trade the game freezes and I have to reset.
Tried it three times now and it's the same issue.
Instead of making two separate trades I'm going to try and make just one trade, see if that helps.Comment

Re: Official NBA 2k18 MyLeague/MyGm Thread
If a dev reads this I have a couple of small requests;
1. Can you patch in the ability to see a coaches system preference in MyLeague prior to hiring them?
2. Can we see players proficiency within a system in the trade menu or player finder(even search for it on player finder?) It would help a lot.Comment

So your saying if the trade you attempt is accepted the assistant GM doesn't go behind your back & force a trade? Would hate to lose a player I'm trying to build with due to the storyline.Comment

You can now edit staff and change their system if you don't mind breaking immersion(assuming you don't play MyGM, then you are out of luck)
Also, all created coaches have "balanced" as their favourite system (not really a surprise), though surprisingly former coaches can have others as their favourite. BUT:Comment

Re: Official NBA 2k18 MyLeague/MyGm Thread
After one season the Thunder won the title, which is great right? They even beat Golden State on their way to the finals.
And then in the off-season Westbrook signed with Chicago. Despite having just won a championship in OKC where PG signed long term.
Oh and KD didn't handle losing to OKC very well. He left the Warriors and signed with Indiana, forming a duo with Myles Turner because... why not?
Note to MyLeague players; full 30 team control is required again for sure.Comment

Re: Official NBA 2k18 MyLeague/MyGm Thread
Hey Guys!, Long time Association/MyLeague player can someone help me out with my questions as I'm yet to buy the game for the first time in 10 years on release day....
I'm fighting myself very hard to not purchase it just yet even tho i've read great things abut gameplay! !!
How do the sim stats look?
obviously there have been a lot of bugs reported with the draft classes, are they able to be worked around through editing?Comment

Re: Official NBA 2k18 MyLeague/MyGm Thread
I started up my Rockets MyLeague and I will have to burn time while waiting for some solid draft classes so I am playing one of every 3-4 games depending on the matchup.
So to start things off I traded for Carmelo. I ended up doing a 3 team deal in which NYK got Jackson and Anderson went to Detroit there were obviously some other pieces involved in the trade but thats the basics.
Game 1 vs GS we actually started off extremely strong however in the 2nd quarter Carmelo went down with an injury would fortunately turn out to just be a some hamstring soreness he missed the rest of the game and the next 3 or 4 but will be back for my next game against the 76ers.
We actually jumped out to an 11 point lead at one point without Carmelo but GS just kept chipping away at it until it was a tied game with less than 2 minutes to go.
They ended up winning the game by 5 but it was close and I am happy as I think we definitely win with Carmelo.
The plan is to get through this year and depending on how the playoffs unfold potentially assembling the Banana Boat in Houston."Don't ever underestimate the heart of a champion!"
