Re: Official NBA 2k18 MyLeague/MyGm Thread
The story is that the owner is a fan enamored with analytics. He sees a report that player X is playing great based on analytics and orders you to acquire that player.
You can completely ignore his request, or attempt to make the deal. If you successfully make the deal the assistant GM would not make a trade on his own.
What I am not sure on is what happens if you never attempt to acquire the player. I am fairly confident nothing happens other than the owner getting unhappy, but not absolutely sure.
Thanks for the response. I may go ahead & continue my already injury riddled season. I was afraid the user had absolutely no control over the trade & from examples it doesn't seem like it's top tier players we have to trade for. I'm fine with that.
Has anyone else experienced lots of injuries early on? My players are dropping back to back.Comment

Re: Official NBA 2k18 MyLeague/MyGm Thread
I didn't because I was doing a test run and knew he'd just trade for him anyway. Plus the player your owner/his son wants (in my case, Harrell, in your case, Lawson) gets put on the untouchables list so you'll never actually be able to trade for him.
Yeah I just traded off bad contracts because I was trying to get to the 2nd season and I couldn't sign free agents, which was weird. I was gonna stick with this MyGM but the first owner ended up buying back the team after selling him the same season.....haven't figured out how to stick with the second owner and move to Seattle (if you even can lol)...gonna stick to MyLeague again this year once some solid sliders come out.
As for relocation and keeping the new owner, at the dinner with the first owner did you tell him about Seattle?Comment

Re: Official NBA 2k18 MyLeague/MyGm Thread
Just to be clear, most of the "broken" features in MyLeague/MyGM come after the first season, right?
So I can just play through the first season of MyGM (unfortunately without the ability to put a custom roster or draft class in) until a patch comes out to hopefully fix stuff that would happen after that?Comment

Re: Official NBA 2k18 MyLeague/MyGm Thread
Ah didn't notice him being on the untouchables list. Makes sense to put him there as a way to make sure the normal sim engine doesn't involve him in a CPU/CPU trade, but it also sucks that the user has no control whatsoever in that.

Re: Official NBA 2k18 MyLeague/MyGm Thread
Doing a bit of googling, starting to look like there are no branches. Haven't found anyone who was able to successfully relocate.
And the story only lasts one year.
Little bummed that it is starting to look like all the choices are just window dressing that don't really matter or influence anything.Comment

No, I thought you not telling him would mean his buy bid would fail. I told him because I wanted him to buy the team, and figured he needs all the information he can get.

Re: Official NBA 2k18 MyLeague/MyGm Thread
Damn, looks like I'll be playing MyLeague over MyGM for sure then. I got so excited when I heard about all the analytical stuff and the potential seattle relocation (for obvious reasons lol). At least I can do a MyLeague and do a expansion with 6 teams, one of them being Seattle like I always do.Comment

Hello. Anyone playing MyGM/MyLeague? Seems custom roster is only available in myleague. How about the coach mode workaround thru simcast live?Comment

Re: Official NBA 2k18 MyLeague/MyGm Thread
Yeah but I didn't want to have to play another run through year one with NO, then through year two (and three?) and then finally get to be in Seattle, I'll just do a MyLeague expansion so I can start in year one, plus I can do 30(36)-team control so you don't see Durant and Lebron go to Utah and Memphis lol, which was another major issue I personally had with MyGM. I might do another run through with a team and not actually plan on relocating to Seattle or anywhere and just be realistic from the start.Comment

Re: Official NBA 2k18 MyLeague/MyGm Thread
After starting a quick initial MyGM to see what the mode is out, I REALLY cant wait for the custom rosters to come out so I can start a real MyLeague, the lack of players in the FA pool is ASTOUNDING.PSN / Xbox GT - BLUEnYELLOW28Comment
