Re: Official NBA 2k18 MyLeague/MyGm Thread

When I do a start now my league every team have the players as free agents, almost every player on each team is a free agent and I don’t understand why. I went ahead and started it anyway and it really messed the league up bad because a lot of if not most teams team chemistry took a big hit. I manually did the draft rounds 1 & 2 and I have yet to start the season until the free agency goes is over or at least the big names like lebron and others make their decisions. I’m thinking of turning off the team chemistry option to sort things out bc I’m only controlling one team which is the bulls. Hopefully this helps.

The Magic started off their road trip with a visit to Charlotte, where they would sneak out a 123-119 victory, carried by 42% shooting from beyond the arc (19/45). Isaiah Thomas continued his strong campaign in Orlando, notching 26 points in the victory, as well as 9 assists. Aaron Gordon and Mario Hezonja also carried the load, putting up 22 and 21 points respectively, while Tony Parker added another 14 off the bench.

The win brings Orlando to 2-4 on the year. While the Magic have faced some struggles to start the year, the season is still early and the team is beginning to find itself and forge its identity.
      Current Franchise: NBA2K22 | Orlando Magic (1-2)

        WHY
You dont set your team in the System Proficiency menu, you need to set this in the rotation menu. This gives you an idea who is the best fit for your system but applies it from the rotation.

Did you use the 'Start Today' option when creating your new game? The option is broken and has done the same to others trying to use it. 2K arent fixing it so I would say not to use it.

I don't think it's in. I just manually edit it to "stretch" it. Say it's 20 million. Id edit the contract to like 6.5 mil per season for 3 seasons freeing up cap space and making them more traceable.

So strange... They sure advertised it as a feature before the release. But I guess that works about the same. Thanks!

Yeah, that’s what I meant. I used the “start today” option and literally almost every player is a free agent. They have weird contracts as well like 1 yr/$0 lol. How? I may just use a custom roster and sim the first season to get around this instead so i can do the trades, free agency etc. the only thing I worry about is if the draft picks will still be correct because ironically, when I used the “start today” option, most of the picks are correct. I had to trade a few but most were already in the correct order.

Re: Official NBA 2k18 MyLeague/MyGm Thread

The Magic scored their largest win of the early season thus far with a 120-97 victory over the Chicago Bulls. Isaiah Thomas was seemingly unstoppable with 29 points, and Jonathan Isaac recorded 20 points returning from injury.

Off the court, center Nikola Vucevic announced that he will be testing free agency at the end of the season. The Magic had been looking to re-sign him as a foundation piece alongside Aaron Gordon and likely Isaiah Thomas, both who are also up for free agency at the end of the season. This now puts Orlando at a crossroads; can they try to convince Vucevic to stay? Do they make a bid to attempt to keep him in free agency? Do they let him walk, and find a replacement? Or even try dealing him before the deadline and getting assets in return? The Magic will have some time to weigh their options, but in this early stage of the season, Vucevic has been a key piece for Orlando, and the Magic were hoping to keep it that way.

Orlando backup forward Vince Carter has also announced that he will be retiring at year's end. This doesn't really impact Orlando's future plans, as he was brought over as an expiring contract in the first place, and has seen only small bursts of playtime this season thus far.

Jonathan Isaac's career high 40 points (and 10 rebounds, for the double double) weren't enough to help the Magic against the Warriors, as they fell in Oakland 130-116. Orlando only shot 45%, while the Warriors torched them at 55%. Steph Curry added 40 points of his own, while Klay lit up Orlando with 26 points. Orlando drops to 5-9 on the year, and barely holding on to the #8 seed in the East.

Honestly at that point I would've stopped playing MyLeague and started a new one. Once my line-up gets too OP I tend to start over, Warriors are pretty nuts rn.

Hi guys, I would like to start game, but not sure which team to pick, I don't follow NBA for some years, while youth I watching very often. I have no connection with aby of thé city, I'm foreigner. My favourite players were Hakeem Olajuwon, Dikembe Mutombo, John Starks, Alonzo Mourning, Shawn Kemp and ofcourse I enjoyed alot MJ. I would like to ask If Its Worth it to buy NBA 2K18 now, lot of people on reddit told me to wait on 19, but Iv never played 2K before, so Id start Now with 18 and preorder 19. But my major question Is, which mode would You recommend me as an singleplayer...would like kind of franchise, but I'm aswell fine with GM play. Thé question Is...which team to pick. Id like team with 2 or 3 stars, but not Golden State or Cleveland. Want to follow thé teams in Real life too and Guess that supporting Warriors would made me bandwagon fan right ? I like underdogs, but not total loosers. I want a team with at least a small chance for winning NBA or at least making it to play offs every year....maybe a team with good young prospects. I'll be very greatfull If You PM me or reply here, it'll help me alot. More suggestions...better. Excuse my English please. I would aswell like to ask about thé PS4community of 2K 18

While the Magic are setting themselves up as a potential playoff candidate through the first 20 games of the season, young rookie Jonathan Isaac in particular is starting to stand out. The rookie forward is starting to find his stride, with games of 40, 34, and 21 points the past week. He's taken on a role as an on court leader when the team needs someone to step up.

Though the Magic are under .500, they are currently slotted 6th in the Eastern conference through the 1st quarter of the season, and they only look to be getting better. While the Magic have gotten a bit of a reality check against some of the premiere teams in the league (a 25 point loss to the Warriors comes to mind), the Magic have been competitive against, and even beating, some of the middle of the pack teams in the East, including a win against the Boston Celtics in their last game, led by Nikola Vucevic who scored 22 in the first half (28 for the game, with 24 rebounds) to lead the way.

Have had a ton of fun with my league this year player locking a created point guard. I’m in year 2022 and just traded myself from the Suns to the Thunder and brought Devin Booker with me right before the trade deadline. Suns now have Russell Westbrook and Anthony Davis who I left behind.

After winning three titles in four years with the Suns my lineup is this with the Thunder -

                                PG - Quincy Jeter
                                SG - Devin Booker
                                SF - Andrew Wiggins
                                PF - Marquese Chris
                                C - Deandre Jordan

My lineup is stacked but I still get great games on HOF against the still OP Warriors, Rockets, & Lebron and Cousins led Lakers in the West. In the east finals I’ve faced the Celtics twice and the Bucks. The further you get, the more invested you get in the rivalries, it was super tough leaving the Suns but needed to switch it up to keep it fresh.

58 game season, 5 Game playoff series, 8 min qtr, HOF. For regular season I’ll play the first quarter and if I’m up big I’ll play to the half and then sim to end, if it’s close I’ll gamecast until the 4th and then finish the game.

Year one I came back from 0-2 in the series and down 24 in the third in game 5 to beat the Warriors and then the Celtics in the finals.

Year two I got Anthony Davis and then got swept by the Warriors (that was not what I thought would happen). Warriors went on to lose to the Rockets.

Year three, I came back and smacked everyone and year four Warriors and Rockets took me to 5 games before I beat the Bucks.
