Truthfully, I'm surprised by the awful low number of people giving impressions. Honestly, I normally give detailed impressions every year, but I got so caught in the game that I only made mostly side comments. NBA 2K18 is that damn good! The new game engine is f*cking unreal! I might download 2K17 to compare the two for kicks and giggles.

As for the "negative", some of them seem like learning curve type comments (shooting, ball handling, use of menus, etc). There are some minor ones, but the biggest complaint seems to be the CAP tools.

Oops, I forgot about. I saw that when I was "reviewing" the substitution screen. You should make a post about it in the "Bugs/Glitches" thread. I normally use auto-subs.

The very first thing I did was load up MyPlayer and head to the barber shop. I may never touch that mode again, but I couldn't handle the thought of having a bald head. Lol! Had to go get my mohawk!

Ive been playing 2k basketball since... 2k.... and this one is looking like its going to be the best one theyve ever made, of course it has bugs and small problems, remember this.. A MAN has NEVER created anything thats perfect.. with that said.. 2k18 is DOPE!!!!

Early impressions...

The crowd feels much more 'responsive' to situations.

New player models great, but some players are way, way off. Zach Randolph looks like a greyhound.

The crazy part is that I just peeked into the "Bugs/Glitches" thread, and thus far...some of the problems seem like "easy" fixes in a future patch. If the impressions and bugs/glitches threads keep going at this pace, 2K may only have to drop 2-3 patches at most, and I'm being generous saying 3. Mike Wang is probably sitting somewhere with a big smile on his face right now.

Did I mention how smooth this new game engine feels, lol?

Maybe because 2K mess with release day, it is supposed to be available from today for the early tip off customers, 19 september for all, but basically the game is available for all now, i've got from Microsoft store just today.
Anyway, game seems slightly unpolished at the time, no intro at all (?), some teams got no player photo on thumbnail on select screen.

Very super early impressions: gameplay seems pretty awesome this year, love the new shot meter Sony NBA The Inside style, totally game changer for me. Crowd is f great on defense! they go totally nuts, fantastic animations as usual, great atmosphere. Brilliant soundtrack (who cares anyway? I do). I don't like court visual like every year, poor textures (Xbox One version) and mild reflections, somewhat improved than 2K17. Not so thrilled by players details. Lazy score table.
The facial scan through MyNBA2K18 app is awesome! Got some impressive result for my player, let's see the new neighborhood mode.
Overall seems a great iteration this year!

I think most are just playing and taking their early leaves....which I would usually do myself...

I agree though...as far as the game on the court goes, I am really enjoying myself...

Prob the worst playing NBA 2k game in years.

Luckily I have sliders galore I can change and I'm making it immensely better

But jeez this game is made for online play

Kinda disappointed

Animations are clunky

The feel of the game is the best its ever been they finally hit a sweet spot.
