Re: NBA 2k18 Impressions Thread
reading to all this comments show how much of a spoiled player a lot of 2k is...you cant be serious with passing has to be more easier than what 2k has now, like you really has so many option to pass.
and then fixing the gameplay becoz someone is open in the corner all the time and they scoring...really??you telling me that cpu is wide open all the time and you knew it and still you cannot do anything about it??but complain?? your holding the controller??right??then you are the one responsible for the outcome. they did not made the game to be easy??you want realistic game..there you have it even real players loose their opponent.watch nba games you see a lot of open players in the corner bcoz that is not the main focus to guard unless that is GSW and yet they still open in 3's.
stop this none sense bcoz the game does not favor you.just learn to play the game well not blame the game everytime you loose.
DONT RUIN THIS GAME ASKING DEVS FOR PATCHES ESPECIALLY IF YOU CAN ADJUST RATHER THAN THE GAME ADJUST TO YOU FOR YOUR OWN SATISFACTION.PEACEComment

Re: NBA 2k18 Impressions Thread
The ONLY thing they need to fix is how easy it is for offensive players to establish position right under the hoop. Thats the hardest spot to get to in basketball and 2k lets guys just walk in there catch, pump fake and then auto dunk....! They need to let LB/L1 or RB/R1 be like a stone wall skill on D that lasts say 3-6 secs, depending on strength and weight and then has to cool down to do it again. What do ya'll think? Cause right now bigs just get under the hoop with no resistance. This is a legacy issue. Other than that, i love the game.Comment

Re: NBA 2k18 Impressions Thread
Idk if this has been mentioned but why do we have to start so wack in my player mode? I'm talking about the 'story mode'. Team mates rarely pass when I ask for the ball , i foul 50% of the time I try to block a shot. Offensively I'm pretty good for a 64 player but eh , this is turning me off from this gameComment

Yes substitutions are definitely better. They ditched the 2k17 sub screen.

Re: NBA 2k18 Impressions Thread
And also I get a good shot rating and still miss open shots wtf I thought they said that a good shot release will almost always be a made bucket ( or was that live?) and whenever I get subbed out of the game and get subbed back in my team is losing by like 20 or some ish.Comment

Re: NBA 2k18 Impressions Thread
This isn't really the case of what I was saying. I'm talking about when a player has cut or rolled or just finds himself open at the rim. Plays where all I have to do it pass it to him and he gets a layup or dunk. In some instances icon passing can't be done quick enough because there is a small window between when you see the player getting open to when you push the pass button to when the defense reacts.
My problem is I see the guy open and have a plait second so I point the stick at that player headed to the rim and press the pass button as quickly as possible because he won't be open long. The problem is that pass may wind up going out to my guard standing by halcourt, it might be a cross court skip pass that gets deflected. It's always been a weak point with 2K.
Admittedly I didn't know there were pass sliders, so I will play around with that when I get home. But those moments are infuriating. When a player is wide open at the rim and you can't even make the player pass him the ball. The passing logic isn't that great in the game, which is why every year I use icon passing for 90% of my passes. But sometimes those quick on the fly type of passes you don't think you have time for that.
It's not about passing being easier, passing is the best it's ever been in a 2K game. It's about it being more logical. If I have a player wide open rolling off and screen and I press the "A" button it's obvious that's where I wanted the pass to go. Especially if I'm pointing the stick in that direction. In 2K that doesn't always happen.. I don't want them to make it easier or dumb it down any from what it is, just make it smarter.

However, if you turn off ACE and adjust your settings, you have nothing to worry about.Comment

Re: NBA 2k18 Impressions Thread
The issue isn't timing, it's me pressing the stick towards the player cutting to the rim who is open and the game deciding itself that it would rather throw a skip pass to the guy in the corner, or out to my PG standing near half-court. When those are obviously not where I, or anyone, would want that pass to go.
I'm not complaining to make the game easier, or asking for anything to be patched. It's the impressions thread, and one of my impressions is that players by default still tend to make stupid passing decisions instead of the obvious ones.
I'm just saying that it would be nice if in the future passing AI had a little more common sense, or was a little more responsive to directional passing. The game itself feels like if I don't do icon passing I can seldomly pass the ball to the player I actually want it to go to.
Like I said before, I didn't realize there were sliders to adjust this. I'm going to try messing around with those tonight and hopefully make the directional passing much more responsive.

Re: NBA 2k18 Impressions Thread
I wish fatigue worked this way for guys who use their point guards to score and chase the ball all over the court: the more you chase, the faster you get tired and your shot should suffer drastically. Example, I'm playing against Kimba Walker. The guy scores 30 AND is chasing me all over the court for the entire game? Really!?!

I swear the developers intentionally break things or hold out on features just so you'll have reason to look into next years game.Comment

Re: NBA 2k18 Impressions Thread
I mean, is EVERYONE a 3pt shooter when you play on Hall of Fame or what? Terrell Brandon just dropped 37 on me by shooting 3's off of screens the whole game, ridiculous. Not to mention, Melo dropped 40 on me in the same exact game (Braids Melo).Comment

Re: NBA 2k18 Impressions Thread
This should have been a thing for a long time now, a dynamic fatigue system that is based on how much you're moving around rather than how much time you've been in the game. A lot of players just stand around and conserve their energy. I don't know why it's not a thing.

No, offense but you i don't understand that.
I like the fatigue idea and maybe it's not a thing because they didn't think of it , not because of some sinister plot.
