This goes back a few years actually..even on a he gaming p.c some of the arenas caused frame rate I mean huge frame rate drops...then you go to another game and it players so fluid you may think you're going insane.?

They patch this every year...and also every year certain cameras..bog down the gameplay console or p.c...they patch that too...

They know this is happening..why not address it day one..they make the same patches almst every year regarding these two issues.

Compared to last year there is more success when taking a defender off the dribble and driving but to me it's a lot better and more realistic. You almost never see players like Kyrie Irving or Steph Curry run into a "brick wall" in real life but last year, even with a mismatch, it was a struggle to drive. This year you can use a great ball handler with confidence.

Cool. I didnt really notice of the "brick wall" in 17. Driving past the defenders with an elite ball handler was fine for me. Perhaps could be due to the sliders tune-ing.
      Looking forward to 18.

It was doing that prior to the patch so I don't think it was something that happened because of that. I had the same issue where the only timeouts called were by me.

Also fixed my issue with the lag at the Park. Had to move my PS4 Pro downstairs so it was pretty much right next to my router. Even though I get 100% connection everywhere in my house, when it comes to playing at the Park I gotta be as close to the router as I can to get things running smooth.

Boy did it make a difference. Can't believe I played as many games as I did with it jumping all over the place like crazy. And amazed I had as much success as I did playing like that. I went from a pause literally every 2 seconds to everything running smooth and two other guys and myself just had a nice 10 win run where we complimented each other perfectly. The 2 other guys were solid outside shooters and I don't like to shoot from the outside unless I'm WIDE open. Since most people that play at the park want to chuck it up, I tend to be more of a role player setting screens, making smart passes, and setting everyone else up while playing lock down D. Nothing worse than getting stuck with someone that just wants to dribble and shoot anytime they touch the ball so much so that you have to freeze them out in order for you and the other guy to have a chance to shoot.

I played earlier with someone who literally didn't pass the ball a single time so the other guy and I did whatever we could to avoid getting him the ball which hurts your team when you're essentially playing 2 on 3. Or when you get a teammate that just decides to not really even play. Had a game where someone either didn't move or was literally just running out of bounds on the opposite end of the court while we're on offense. Had one play where he got the inbound pass unfortunately and he proceeded to just dribble backwards and run out of bounds. The other teammate ended up quitting which I can't blame him, I tend to stick it out to try and boost my levels because you're going to get the loss anyway. Had another game where this guy started bitching and moaning as the game was nearing the end about how bad me and the 3rd guy on our team was meanwhile I had 7 of our 9 points, and the guy complaining not only had 0 points, 0 rebounds, 0 assists, but the guy he was guarding ate him alive. And he's cursing and whining about how bad we are, i'm like "buddy you literally did nothing all game, how about you just shut up." And his response was "LOOK AT MY RECORD Y'ALL SUCK!" The park is fun when you get a good group of teammates to run with but it can be frustrating as hell when you get people like I described above.

That being said i'm looking forward to the NBA season getting here so I can get Opening Day rosters and get into MyLeague because that's what I really enjoy. I'm having fun though toying around with MyPlayer in the meantime since it's not a mode I usually play. I usually NEVER play those types of modes in any game but I enjoyed playing the Longshots thing in Madden (although it was a little too much watching and not enough actual playing), I enjoyed the limited time with the Story Mode in the Fifa Demo, I enjoyed the Story mode in the NBA Live demo, and i'm enjoying MyPlayer in NBA 2k. When I say enjoying I don't mean they're something that I want or will devote a ton of my time to once seasons are started but they're better than they used to be in the past as they've expanded your options.

CPU still has the ice skating movement on defense. It's almost like the CPU needs to slide to stay in front of you.

The more I play this game the more the AI CPU defense bothers me. It's so, so, so bad. Inexplicable decisions made by competent defenders to leave their assignment, lazily fight around screens, run into the paint away from 3 point shooters, and extremely poor transition defense.

And let's talk about the horrible MyCareer story. Why can't we just have a normal story without all of the annoying cringeworthy characters? The janitor, the security guard, the annoying asian lady that goes everywhere with you, and your MyPlayer has the most skeevy voice ever. I am fine with the premise of the story but not the execution.

So far the best MyCareer story has been 2k15. Other than that this year might be the worst.

So far so good for me. I'm not really feeling the MyGM cut scenes. The mannerisms are all the same no matter who is "talking" which gets annoying.

I like MyLeague. I'm trying to understand the new System Proficiency thing and how it effects actual gameplay. I still haven't found an answer for that. I also like the new defensive settings menu because it gives you a detailed description of how defensive schemes work. Trade logic is still slightly flawed, but that's a hard concept to master.

So far, I like it better than 17. The gameplay is great and I can tell they worked hard on it.

Still loving my game especially on the court, but I'll think twice next time for using "simcast" . I was in my GM mode playing my first game and I was up 20 points and had to leave so I decided to sim the rest of the game. The game simmed the game I lost by 25. Which in reality that just would not happen that quickly. Word of warning. Don't use it. Just my 2 cents.

The Equalizer built into this game is making it almost unplayable. Every damn game, go up early, and then absolutely absurd and beyond realistic things start happening. Makes so me mad.

And Vince Carter in his prime can't dunk the ball according to this game. Ever. Open breakaway or anything. So much needs fixed.

I only got one called on me, but I know that I definitely forced the issue.

How is the defense, has it improved? I mean, do players get to waltz down the lane, with no weakside help to block layup attempts? Hope they fixed it where the reaction times to switch players off to help with rim protection has sped up. Last year, they rotated and got there too late.

Let me start by saying I am not good at 2k. I never have been. But I love it.

I started a MyGM today using the Magic (who suck hard) and played my first game against the Heat. I really took my team setting up the defensive adjustments (the Xs and Os really helped) and made sure I played to my team's strengths. I played on Superstar (had been on the one below it, All-Star I think in previous versions).

I played the Heat and held them to 12 points in the first quarter. I was playing D the right way, leaving Mickey and James Johnson open and focusing on pushing Whiteside out and smothering Waiters and Tragic. I was pretty dang pleased with how it played out.

On offense, I flat out suck. I can see why people have an issue with layups. I missed a ton and I'm not sure whether to yell at 2k or if it was bad situations I was in. I only scored 72 points and I chalk that up to A) the Magic being awful B) me being awful and C) playing on superstar.

Regardless, it was a fun game and when I focused on D, I found it works. Now, someone please send me help on offense!
