This is only the greatest 2k in comparison to the disaster that was 2k17 😂

2k11 still quite easily better IMO. One could argue that 2k16 is better too.

I'd say 2k11 still had the smartest AI. But for overall smooth gameplay, I really think 2k18 has the best. Aside from some clipping and breaks in defense, I feel 2k18 is the most fun. But that's just me. I don't think 2k16 is very good. I thought 2k15 had the most polished realistic gameplay, but I belivee when 2k18 gets a few nice patches, I hope it will surpass my beloved 2k11 and 2k12.

          Re: NBA 2k18 Impressions Thread

Two games in on Play Now, I'm enjoying my time with the game but there are some odd trends in the small sample size. I played both games as the Thunder, first against the Utah Jazz and second against the Brooklyn Nets. In both games I got out to huge leads (25-9 in the case of the Nets game that just ended), yet by the end of the half both games were ~35-37 nailbiters full of defense and bad passes. Both games I've struggled to crack 80 points in a game (I play 12 minute quarters) where last year and really any previous year I'd start at 12 but wind up settling on 10 or 11 when I start my MyLeague because I couldn't help but score 120-130 points per game at 12 minutes.

What's odd about this lack of offense is that when I look at the team comparisons it's obvious I'm playing the game the same as I always have. In my game against the Jazz last night they took 93 shots and I took 65 shots while taking 30 FTs; in my game this morning, the Nets took 85 shots (52! from three off constant behind-the-arc screens and motion) and doubled me up on steals 15 to 8 while I took 68 shots, 11 from 3 and 21 FTs. These are the issues my style of play has had from the dawn of time, I can't get guys open for threes (and the Thunder don't have much shooting anyway) and I throw passes where I don't mean to and I get to the line and I win the game mainly because my players are better. I think I won the game last night 80-90 and I won this game 83-86.

Am I the only one that feels like the offense is down significantly this year? I suppose I need to try a game with the Warriors to know for sure but I was primarily putting up those 130 point games with the Knicks last year and they were a two man team.

Edit: I only play on All-Star difficulty also, btw.

One thing I want to ask, does anyone else feel offensive rebounds are a bit easy? It very well could be something I am doing, but it just seams I always have at least two guys with 5 offensive boards come halftime. I play on superstar 12 min quarters full default currently.

It has gotten better every year but I still think that there needs to be a lot more long rebounds that bounce out toward the top of the key. This would better distribute the board numbers and increase the transition opportunities in realistic fashion.

Do this today: Instead of $%*#!@& on a game you're not going to play or movie you're not going to watch, say something good about a piece of media you're excited about.

Do the same thing tomorrow. And the next. Now do it forever.

I was actually speaking from an overall standpoint. But I agree 2k18 is probably the most complete from a gameplay perspective. I just don't find it to be as fun as 2k11. I felt like that game flowed way better, was way more responsive, felt far less scripted, and the controls weren't nearly as complicated. For it's time it was literally the perfect game. Which is why we continue to hold it to such a high standard

And honestly as of right now 2k16 is probably the most complete 2k on this gen. Gameplay was great, graphics were great, bugs were minor, and VC wasn't overblown. Also, it was the year they added Pro-AM, team relocation, and modern classic teams. I'd give it the edge over 2k15 and 2k18 *right now*

I'll have to get 2k16 a try again. Did you ahve it on ps4? I had it on XBOX one, maybe my version was glitchy. I remember i couldn't get to my rosters. They all were corrupted.

I always talk about 2K16 after all the patches as being my favorite next gen 2k game, as far as on the court, 2K18 is looking like its going to surpass it as long as it's refined properly...

Please, leave The shooting alone. I love it and I have no problem when I miss a layup

The only things I would want to tweak are sometimes the computer player who isn't an elite player plays like he is and I would like to be able to skip some cut scenes

Sorry guys, but how are impressions of the Switch version? I don't have the time to scroll through pages so I thought I'd ask. My son and I want to play together

Has anyone got the game on x1? Any complaints outside of the game known issues ? I might get a used one since they are cheapers than ps4s.

I'm not impressed. The player movement is the same it's been for the past 7 years. They still do animations that I don't want them to do, like grab on to the player they're defending, backpedal when I don't want, etc. All in the name of the game looking realistic.
