Im not even really talking about percentages. If a guy is rated 90 at three point shooting, make his minimum 3 pt tendency Like 70 or something. If he's a backup guy like matt Bonner who isn't rated high in other categories, his overall shot tendency wouldn't potentially be that high.

Listen, you guys are the experts, I defer on all of this to you, but there's gotta be some way that 90 rated CPU generated rookies aren't averaging 12 ppg

Without going into a long drawn out post I will say this, If it was a simple fix everyone would be making great custom rosters. It is a long tedious process to fix the neglected tendencies.

Now as for 2K team there is no excuse they don't have someone dedicated to testing the game. All of their streams for the most part are Head to Head USER vs USER. They need to be testing CPU vs CPU so when a USER is playing the CPU the CPU plays properly. That way when it is time to mesh all of the working parts together from the different development teams things will work properly OOTB.

One of the things I have been asking them to build is some CPU AI where coaches can influence player tendencies based on player attributes/development along with where that player stacks up with the rest of the roster and including coach scheme preference.

But to even get that far they need to have generated players have appropriate starting out tendencies in the first place, especially for shooting, passing and touches. If we're still seeing rookies with high offensive skills who don't use them, that's just nuts year after year.

Re: NBA 2k18: THe Good, The Bad and The Ugly

I looked a bit deeper into Tendencies, and the low 3 Point Tendency is not the problem, the problem are the low numbers in "Shoot" and "Touches".
(Kevin Durant has also 41 tendency for 3 point Shooting for example)

Two generated players, one rated 98 overall, one 96, both are outstanding 3 Point Shooters (all Ratings in the high 90s) and overall great shooters.
One has "Shoot" and "Touches" around 80, one has it in the high 50s - low 60s.
The first one is the best scorer in the league, averaging over 28 per game, the other one is always around 15-16 Points with 5 Assists per Game.
The problem is, the Tendencies are not increasing, he was drafted five years ago and has basically the same Tendencies, he simply don´t get enough touches, despite being clearly the best player on his team from day one.

It´s like Dreece (or was it Sapp?? ) told me a couple months ago, you need to change "Touches" manually every year before the season starts and of course after Trades, Signings.
I did that last year and it took some time, but atleast it´s only two Tendencies.

Yup, that's what you have to do. It's what I was trying to describe above as a way for the CPU AI to build this into logic one day, but as we know, we're a long way from there.

Yeah, hopefully one day they will find a solution for this.

Now I´ll test if your (and trekfan´s of course) workaround from last year works.
WAY too many great shooters in every test I run.

Ok so then changing my idea..... couldn't they just make touches tie in with overall rating? So as overall increases, so will the touches tendency?

Edit- eh I guess that would remove the microwave type scorers and defensive only guys

.... maybe something tied to overall but only for players with a certain offensive rating?

How are team PIP, RPG, APG numbers this year on default rosters gentlemen?

Am I the only one who doesn't like they moved the MPG stat lol? I've been so used to it being before PPG all these years. Strange that its after FT% now.

Honestly I am disappointed in all this. Looks like a lot of bugs. The contracts and sim stats being the worst. Sigh.

smh ... top free agents signing for the minimum is ABSOLUTELY NOT ACCEPTABLE!!!

Many people here have pointed this issue out over the past 5 years and have been ignored.

This threat will probably, once again, be ignored by 2K...
