I usually do a lengthy blog about all the missing or incorrect elements of the CBA, just wanted to throw that one thing out there. I'm sure this thread will continue to be monitored as it's well organized and not being derailed off topic.Die hard Heat and Dolphins fan since '89

Re: MyGM/MyLeague : Bird Rights not working/displaying and RFA not functioning
The fact they need to follow threads and patch things like that in is absolutely infuriating and unacceptable. It literally takes a few QA sessions to find this out.
Why are people thanking them for possibly fixing this when it shouldn't be a problem in the first place?
Every year 2k release an outright unacceptable game because they know they can patch it afterwards rather than putting out a finished product.
This isn't just 2k, it's the entire gaming industry and a core problem with us, the consumers.
I'm done with this franchise for a while, thank you for making this thread to let me know this is the sameComment

Re: MyGM/MyLeague : Bird Rights not working/displaying and RFA not functioning
I just did a little test and it seems that the 2 sliders in place (contract negotiation difficulty and non-financial factor importance, albeit the first only for the user or maybe the automation when user controlled ?) have only a very marginal impact on contract demands. Basically a player demanding a 25 mio starting salary will demand maybe "only" a 22 mio one with difficulty all the way down and non-financial all the way up, someone asking for 10 will go down to 9 etc.
Since the problem is too many players demanding close to the max (even on a roster where the potential rating is toned down, even 78 rateds with 81 will demand it), i doubt this slider with the current values will be of much use to direct this from the user side.
I think there simply need to be more 10-15 mio per year contracts and less 25+ mio per year contracts, in FA then more market-driven contracts rather than early (expensive) extensions, early big-money signings in FA and then a bunch of near min-sal or MLE signings.
Considering this got adjusted very majorly in 2k17 (or 16 ?) i am cautiously optimistic. And like i pointed out earlier i am pretty sure some of this has to do with the Rights/Cap-Holds going MIA, which is bound to screw the dynamic. That being said, near-max-extensions are way too easily handed out and pushing down the cpu-resigning-tendency would be of no use right now due to the aforementioned faulty FA mechanics.Comment

Originally posted by CaseIH;I agree, but probably taken it too far by giving them the finger. It could get you in trouble here, and that old saying you get more bees with honey than vinegar tends to hold true majority of the time.
You are definitely right, they need either better testers, or more testers, as every yr MyGM and MyLeague have issues, to where you cant play them until then fix them in a patch.
Sorry, is the post being removed? I'm still seeing that finger on my dashboard via Tapatalk app.

Re: MyGM/MyLeague : Bird Rights not working/being force-renounced and RFA not functio
If you intend this to be a long term save rather than just a way to feel your way around the gamemode, absolutely wait.
If you do start for ****s and giggles, beware that contract resigning won't work properly as detailed in here. And you have to at least make sure to edit the stash-guys (International Draft Prospects staying overseas for 1,2 or 3 seasons). Eithe go into the draft class and edit each prospect (contract --> Euro-Stash years left to 0) or after each season after the finals (but before the offseason !) go through each roster and edit all players showing a yellow "1" next to their name indicating they are due to come over in the offseason. Here you want to go to contract --> contract type = core (if the game only allows to set it to two-way that means there are too many players on the roster in which case you set the lowest rated other player on the roster to "two-way" and then the Euro-guy to "core". You have to start doing that in season 2.
If you do not do that you will end up with duplicate players and 7 foot PGs (and 6 foot centers) after years 2.Comment

Because of that, I'm less optimistic they can do anything more than perhaps loosen player demands up a bit or make those sliders more powerful. Even if you edit the players to max non financial motivations and drop financial security down to zero you still don't see much more widening of the zone of what players will accept during negotiations. There's also some slight modifier in the formula based on "play for winner" and I think based on who your coach is. It's all has very minimal impact, though.
The player asking price formula has always been pretty rigidly determined by a combination of OVR, AGE and POT. Past production doesn't matter. Market competition or available cap space on the market don't matter. I don't think they can do anything about that this cycle.Last edited by LorenzoDC; 09-19-2017, 10:07 AM.Comment

First, I started off with Kevin Durant, no matter what I did I wasn't able to sign him for the 25 million per year he took this summer, even after bottoming out his intangibles rating and financial security, and with contract negotiation difficulty set to 0. But I'm okay with this one scenario cause Kevin Durant took a huge pay cut of 10 million per year, and I don't want to base things off of a real-life anomaly. But I was curious if it could be done, it can't, which again is fine.
However I wasn't able to get Curry to ask for a full max no matter how high his intangibles and financial security attributes were. Through some experimentation I found that increasing Contract Negotation Difficulty sliders to 80 results in most of these guys asking for the max. With Contract Negoatiation Difficulty set to 75, Hayward and his 98 intangibles rating asked for SLIGHTLY less then the max he got in real life. With the slider set to 80 he asked for the full max.
But with Contract Negotiation Difficulty at 80, Curry still didn’t ask for the max, I had to turn up the slider to 95 in order to get that. Next I messed with Andre Iguodala. Here are my results:
- 90+ OVR Curry w/ Intangibles set to 25: Asked for 100% of his real contract
- 90+ OVR Curry w/ Intangibles set to 62: Asked for 100% of his real contract
- 90+ OVR Curry w/ Intangibles set to 99: Asked for 100% of his real contract
- 70+ OVR Iguodala w/ Intangibles set to 25: Asked for 44% of his real contract
- 80+ OVR Iguodala w/ Intangibles set to 62: Asked for 84% of his real contract
- 80+ OVR Iguodala w/ Intangibles set to 80: Asked for 104% of his real contract
- 80+ OVR Iguodala w/ Intangibles set to 99: Asked for 120% more than his real contract
So 80 Intangibles is the sweet spot for Iguodala. I'm really glad that we have an attribute that we can use to control this stuff. I will be releasing a roster with updated Intangibles once opening day rosters are released.Comment

Re: MyGM/MyLeague : Bird Rights not working/displaying and RFA not functioning
I think I have a solution. I've been doing this test since last year. I start a MyLeague from the summer and I edit Intangibles ratings to see what numbers will get these players to demand the contract they got in real life. Here are my results.

Re: MyGM/MyLeague : Bird Rights not working/displaying and RFA not functioning
Thanks alot Dave, really appreciate you taking the time to keep us in the loop.
Havent done my deep dive yet as far as CBA stuff goes, but one minor thing that I havent seen yet mentioned in this thread that I noticed in a quick test last night is that the extention deadline (which is supposed to be the day before the regular season starts for rookie scale extentions) is coming and going with guys' status remaining "undecided" the whole year.
*note* designated veteran extentions (super max extentions as ya'll call them) also have a deadline of the day before the regular seasonI won't ask for Christmas or birthday gifts if you subscribe to the Operation Sports Newsletter (Not Just Another Roster Update). I write it, and it hits your inbox every Friday morning (for freeeeeee). We also have an official OS Discord you can now join.Comment
