I can't get too mad at VC. OKC is way over the cap and KD does have a player option but in reality, he opts in for GS. So what I do is simply change his contract status.

For PG13, it's tough. Either you hope Melo opts in and trade Roberson for cap or you waive Melos caphold. No other option.

For Cleveland, trade Shrumps contract for cap space.

The new issues are unacceptable and I say this because, wouldn't QA testing at 2K Sports catch these issues? Ones like guys (IT) not signing and then signing 1 yr deals for low money? I mean, how is that not caught? What is going on there??

Testing? You really think they test this mode that in depth?

Because this became the thread Dave is monitoring and subscribing to. It is for his convenience to help him keep tabs on feedback from experienced users of these modes. This usually happens with one thread every year.

And here’s the kicker ..

76ers signed Enes Kanter to a 1 year deal worth 20 million .. Christ

Doesn’t look like it’s a one off anomaly, it’s happening each time I run a test sim

This time, Kevin Durant signed with the Pacers

I've never experienced this because I've turned the cap for 18-19 to 109 million.

I also boosted the hard cap to 175 million.

I've made sure we stay as realistic as possibly by running a 30 team MyLEAGUE. I don't mind it as I have the control to make the game more competitive.

Now that patch 4 is out, it looks like some of the issues from this thread have been addressed and not others. I was expecting a patch to drop before opening day, but I was hoping that patch would clean up these broken features and instabilities in the mode. This patch is apparently not that.

I can't tell if RFA's have been fixed, and it doesn't look as if draft classes or bloated salaries and salary caps have been addressed in any way. Dave already said the bug where high prospect C's aren't scouted would not make it into this patch, so that's no surprise. Nothing about how overly random the simulation engine maybe is for teams based on talent/rosters. Nothing about the CPU using G-League assignments or two way contracts.

What are you guys seeing? What issues are left to get cleaned up? The stuff the patch says it fixes, is it actually solid and fixed? Is the mode basically playable with user edits yet?

Considering it was linked to the qualifying offers not registering and that is fixed i think it's save to assume this is now working best as can be.

I was able to run a quick 6-year-Sim this morning with OKC.

1. I was able to resign George and Melo, despite being over the Cap.
I also resigned Westbrrok and Melo again after four years desppite being over the Cap.
So Bird Rights seem to work now.

2. I did not saw the Billion $ Contract glitch.
3. And also there weren´t any Centers undrafted whou should be Lottery Picks.

4. There are still those Super-Rookies, had 3 in the first 6 Drafts (default DC Quality).
However, Touches and Shot Tendencies still not high enough for some of them and still not increasing properly.
(but to be fair, it was never announced to be fixed for this year)

5. Contract demands seemed to be toned down a little bit.
I saw some Role Players signing for 20+ Million, but I saw also Role Players demanding about 6-12 Million, especially those who were a bit older (29 or older).
Could be placebo of or coincidence, but didn´t saw this pre Patch.
However, overall still a bit too high, still saw some teams with 200+ Million Salaries.

6. For you other guys:
Please make sure you turn Hard Cap OFF when testing.
I never see Stars signing minimum Contracts.
The highest rated Free Agents at the end of the Free Agency for me are around 77-80 Overall, which is fine.
And of the Superstars in the League, Lonzo Ball gets 29 Million $, every other Superstar gets over 30 Million $ per year.

So overall, I do think MyLeague is playable now, with heavy editing of course.
The two biggest bugs have been fixed (Bird Rights, Draft&Stash).

As an addition for my post above:
with Bird Rights working correctly and all Teams over the Cap, you´ll almost never see a Superstar Free Agent signing for another Team (maybe in year 1, but that´s it, because every Team is over the Cap after the first Offseason).
So, LeBron will finish his career with Cleveland, Durant and Curry with GS, Russ with OKC and so on.

If you want an shakeup in your League, you have to edit Contracts or manually sign a Superstar for another team or via Trade.

However, I hope with a more balanced Roster and Draft Classes (created by Users), the contracts won´t be so high and some Teams stay under the Cap.

And for 2K19 we only can hope, that the AI makes a big step forward, especially for Rebuilding Teams.

This is the only part I disagree with you about. Other than Chris Bosh, who I can manually injure/retire, there really shouldn't be many guys sitting in free agency after the signing period rated 77-80 overall. I could maybe understand 70-74 overall with some weaknesses to the FAs' games.

Agreed, my personal rule for FAs is that anyone 75 or below should be there after the free agency period.

Ratings inflation plus regression/progression issues has made this a bit more difficult to pull off in recent iterations of 2K, however if you're doing a full 30 team control and you're not above some contract workarounds, you can find a place to put those 76 or above guys.

The most difficult thing I've had trouble with is letting guys 76 or above retire -- especially dudes you have fond memories with, the ZBOs and Wades of the world. I like the idea of "One Last Ride" for a lot of guys, but letting them retire is the way to go in most cases, just to relieve some balancing issues, IMO.

Two-Way Contracts
Taking full advantage of G-League availability are Two-Way Contracts. With the ratification of the new CBA, NBA teams will now have two additional roster spots designated for players on “two-way contracts.” Always aiming for completely authenticity, NBA 2K18 fully supports this new addition to the league. Any player with three or fewer years of NBA service is eligible to sign a two-way contract. A player on a two-way contract can spend a maximum of 45 days with their NBA team (during the G-League season). Once the player has run out of NBA-days, he must spend the remainder of the season in the G-League, unless converted into an NBA minimum contract player. NBA 2K GMs would be wise to utilize this to their advantage as you can more easily keep hold of developing talent, while being able to bring the players up to the NBA team to check in on how they are progressing (and to use them as stop-gaps when injuries hit your roster).

I have trouble with the two way players getting pissed off about spending time in the g league. Same for low rated young guys who otherwise wouldn't get any pt

This is a Roster issue.

It´s been discussed on so many topics, the default Roster has to many players rated to high (but the Roster is still better than in the years before though) and combine that with overpowered Rookies and Peak Start/Peak End being out of whack it gets worse a few years into MyLeague.

Lower the Draft Class Quality (some guys said 45 looks good), edit the Super Rookies (it sucks because you can see all their Ratings), edit some contracts and most importantly, set Peak Start/Peak End by yourself and your League will look fine for years.

This thread is pretty depressing, I can't believe how broken MyLeague was this year. To think how hopeful/excited i was when pre-ordering. Where ML is relative to where i expected it to be is soo far apart. My trust has been really broken this year.
I'll be 31 yrs old by the time 2k19 comes out, this is probably the last year i'll have enough time/availability to REALLY immerse myself into the game. The game is good, of course, it's just a bummer that these bugs and misbalances still exist and hamper the experience/immersion.
Next year, i either gotta remind myself not to pre-order -OR- if i do pre-order, don't read the developer blogs. They make you WAY too excited and it puts my expectations way too high.
That feeling of broken expectations is not very nice.
