To play the mode in be competitive in the park or pro-am you will have to pay 150 would of got you good enough from day one. If you don't want to pay I understand but that's the choice and most games are like this either in game currency or DLC

Most games have in game currency, but you can still be competitive from day one with no upgrades. In 2k, you are not on the same level as your competition (offline) until you upgrade your attributes. And in many cases, you’re not on the same level as your online competition either.

First I want to say I respect you for the work you put in and know that you play 2k a lot. And I agree with you. But I'm just rather people focus on stuff that could get fix then complaining about a company squeezing every dollar out of its customers. A lot of companies do this my rent goes up and I'm living in the same place with no upgrades lol. It is what it is. That doesn't make the game bad.

They did something....My Play now online games I played last night are completely different now, almost night and day.....A few things I noticed...



-People now complete long down court passes with ease (before today, they couldn't)

-Computer defense is much tighter now, people are playing off the ball again

-I could really defend players on the ball, now they can just push me and get to the rim

-Contested layups go in at a much higher rate now



There are some other things I noticed, but those things irked me the most....I feel like I'm playing 2k17 again. I guess people complained and couldn't adjust to the gameplay, so through updates they've reverted a lot of things that were good back to how it was last year. Whats the point of pushing gameplay forward just to turn it around to appease the casuals....

Exactly my fear when looking through comment threads on Reddit and all that about this game. I knew they would change it back to be easier and to have off ball be a legit option. Absolutely stupid. This happens every year at this point.

This game is becoming a travesty...Patch notes promised,then changed and said NEXT patch..will have patch notes,which patch notes are we getting..should be TWO sets Since there will have been TWO patches.

Each day that passes..2k is digging a deeper whole be it for greed with VC.. or completely failing to listen to the customers..and catering to the non SIM crowd.

Maybe by next week the game will be stable and more settled down,honestly right now just a joke..and most of it on US.

Where's Ronnie and the other's now? Is he hiding in the back of Footlocker.. in the silly neighborhood he was clamoring over.

Some people are obsessing too much over the patch notes. At the end of the day, it doesn't matter. Whatever they fixed or attempted to fix was minor as hell. The game still feels the same to me.

The game is the same, lol

Not going to stress myself over some notes....just hurry up and fix the frame rate issue along with the other bugs and I'm good to go...

I want patch notes too, but I will say this.

Before 1.02, I lost three games in a row by about 30 points each--the first two on Superstar, the third on All-Star.
Every game, I was going "What the hell am I doing wrong?! I've NEVER had this much trouble before! Do I just really suck now?"

However, after 1.02 finished downloading, I am having much more competitive and fun games on Superstar.
I still lose my fair share, but I feel like it was MY FAULT, as opposed to faulty programming and unfair AIs.

I have no idea what this patch did, but all I can say is that I'm having a lot more fun ON THE COURT since it dropped.

Or maybe I'm in the honeymoon phase. Who knows.

Naw you're right. I have to play superstar to make it competitive but they were doing outlandish **** and making me miss wide open mid ranges with melo etc. it does feel better as far as lessAI cheating and more just good basketball

You don't force people to download a 5gb patch and not be transparent over what was included. That's hella scummy, no matter how you try to slice it. Stop throwing shade at people for being legit concerned over this.

Stop looking for a pitchfork to grab, you've been doing it since before launch. No 'shade' at all, I have my opinion on it just like you guys have yours...

Do I think it's in the best interest of everyone if they are fully transparent? Sure...

Do I think not releasing the notes was part of some underhanded plot? No...I'm not sure what they'd be gaining from it....I know the patch itself was rushed out to stop the deletions. So no, I'm personally not going to get worked up about this...I'm waiting on some more fixes. You guys are welcome to feel how you want about it.

Since not everyone around here is a long time OS user two very important reminders everyone should remember with every patch of any type

1. The PS4 patches are ALWAYS 4 to 5 GBs regardless of how small or minute the fix. The size has nothing to do with what is being patched.

2. There is a thing called the placebo effect. Google it. People want to see changes in gameplay so.....they see changes in gameplay even if the patch didn't touch gameplay. Been that way around here (and in many things in life, again google it if you aren't familiar) for years. Basically as long as there have been patches, people shout about this or that being broken, better, different etc.

Remember these two things, chill out (it's just a video game) and reduce your stress levels.
