The game ain't even been out a week yet wtf. Hell just play everything offline if VC bother u so much lol
Problem is..and I don't even play in park/my team.. you're grinding it..like a true SIM and gamer. ..and they let someone bypass all of that by paying what $40?

It completely ruins the game for people online...people grinding...how are they supposed to compete with someone who's an 80/85 day 1..because he BOUGHT a player???

Throw the people who didn't earn it..into a different area of the park/online name the park "VC purchased, this really isn't my rating"

Not only is it bad for the grinders. .but these people who BUY their guy. .truly can't play that we'll and in about 7 days ..when the true grinders get up to about 80.. these guys will be exposed as frauds. ..

Basically teaching people to cheat your way..what happens when they actually have to play a grinder who EARNED it? And get destroyed.. do what go buy more VC?..

I don't even play online. .but I can see anyone who plays online being livid with this..yes it doesn't affect me..but OS forums are a whole community. .not just about ME..so I care about every gamer...

Why not just release the cheat engine...like the P.C version they haven't fixed in AGES... you pay nothing..but you earn nothing... (gameplay wise).

Sorry for the rant fellas.. hope some of you feel this one!!!

But on the same side of this, those people who are 50s and stay 50s compete against each other instead of a 60 having to compete against an 85 on day one. In my experience you can compete without buying VC but it is almost impossible to win (in the ProAM at least.) My team is 5-11 so far, we have two mid 60s, two low 70s and an 80. We have yet to play a team with more than one 60, and less than 3/5 of the team 80+. Seven of our eleven losses have come by three or less points. The difference being things like dropped ball from low handling rating, opponent getting BS rebound because of high rebound rating, or way off line pass because of low rating. We may also suck, but you know I am strictly going to blame it mostly on low OVRs.

VC can be earned but when a headband costs 1000 vc, and most of us paid 1000-2000 for a haircut over the weekend, or just the fact that if you try to upgrade your player beyond 4 attribute slots it starts costing 1000+ VC when you're only earning a couple hundred VC max in an NBA game and about 150 VC for a ProAm loss (on the flip side about 600 VC for a ProAM win). Earning vs. Cost is way skewed this year compared to many others when it comes to VC. It costs roughly 200,000 VC this year to upgrade your MyPlayer to an 85. Max shoe deal I have seen from the start is about 150 VC, so that means average NBA VC output is at a generous 400 vc. Doing the math that would equal 500 games played to reach an 85. Some may get more, some may get less, I'd just say 400 VC is a generous average. If you want to get your player shoes or accessories or even a hair cut with a hair color it'll take more than that.

Simple fix would be as many people have said in the past, better matchmaking. Heck, even program it as something that is chosen when searching for a match. Choose similar teams in team OVR, choose teams with higher OVR, or choose teams with lower OVR. You play a similar team you get a moderate amount of VC, play higher ranked team and you get 2X amount of VC, and if you choose to play a lower ranked team you get no VC (possibly even your team has to pay VC to play lower rated team and if you win you get VC back, if you lose the VC is gone or goes to your matchup on other team? An idea...) to really even out who plays who. If my team's average MyPlayer rating is 70 we shouldn't have to play teams whose average rating is 85+ as our only option.

2K's practices need to be taken out and shot by the press. In addition to that, game is full of bugs. Unless people stop buying their products, these will never change.

Cmon the review was 100% fine..until the score..game is the best it has..the most fun...basically he went from a 9 to a 3.. just because of VC..now I 100% agree that VC is a scam ..and needs to be stopped but you can't give amazing praise to game and give a final score of 3 because you don't like their micro transactions...

Sadly his review was very good..but he destroyed it by letting his anger for what 2k is doing with VC stop him from

Giving a real score..that's something us gamers would do..but he's supposed to be a professional reviewer..he seems like a TRUE FAn..who like us loved my career (agree it's getting less and less appealing since spike Lee)

He should have give it the REAL score and his PERSONAL view score..and I don't think anyone would have had problem with it.

I'm glad more and more reviewers are calling them out though, they need to be ridiculed and their feet held to the fire..and truly get rid of Ronnie he's a shill..with a personality of a snail.

Seriously 2k lacks in presentation.. 1/2 time shows.instant overlay stats like LIVE has...and let's Ronnie promote 2k...you go from a great game to this..because of silly easy fixes..forget half time shows..give. Me instant stat over lays..it makes it feel great like what you're doing is counting.

Sorry but Ronnie brings NOTHING to 2k..actually don't know how long he's been there but seems like the game have been tanking since he's been there..I could be wrong maybe he been their face 2k for longer..but only remember seeing him the past few years pumping up 2k..and well since 2k 14.. the game has never regained it's stature...

This year it did,but the VC VC VC crazy mycareer..focus on VC on haircuts sneakers..tats.. really...this isn't a FREE to play Android or iPhone game...with. Micro transactions..this is a FULL priced game out of the box.

I agree with the reviewer with everything he stated BUT the final score can't penalize the game 100% for a feature you despise...but at this point it's getting so ridiculous maybe his review should STAND..there isn't any true GUIDELINE for mandatory reviews.

It feels like if 2k doesn't get this VC thing fixed and stops this in the next few weeks..you could be seeing a class action lawsuit...and I would be fully on board.. they're preying on. People.. in a Way that is nauseating..and if this was a small.company they'd be in court.

I project this will! Be the LADT year of the VC gouging..it WILL be there but for optional accessories and such NOT to allow cheating or bribe young kids..paying fake money for a fake haircut.!called predatory.

I know some who love the game will say don't like it don't buy it..but 2k is making it very tough to say NO..when the people who sdo buy have the advantage...

Honestly the way this is going give everyone 180,000 VC. Apologize..and bring it back next year for accessories ONLY.

Everything else should be earned. This is NOT a free to play game..this is a 60$ game..sometimes &150 game...gouging even more.

Mid cotober this will be all over..everyone will be equal and VC bext year will be a thing if the past.or at least used in a non abusive/predatory way.

2k amazing game...but what you're doing is a shame,a scam,..and down right pitiful..no excuses can be made for what you're pulling off.

Fact is there was NO other options you you took everyone to the cleaners...when in fact this was the first real IMPROVEMENT I. 2k since 2k14 gameplay wise.

Again another rant, but I HATE greed, and people being take. Advantage of..they're fixing the VC glitch first because they do that want to lose the VC purchase,so us gamers wait while the suckers who bought VC get first dibs..(pay to play) I guees.

I'm done lol no more ranting.

                Cheers guys👐✌🖐🍻

I'm really pleased at the number of review sites calling 2K out for the how far they've pushed VC on players this year.

Now it's up to 2K to show they've gotten the message.

(Hey, at least we know 2K isn't using any of the cash they make on VC for their PR team. And if they are ... they must have found that team on freecycle. )
                    Any comments are welcome.

It was a BS score. For the modes (PNO, Quick Game, MyCareer) I PERSONALLY play, it's a 9 easily. I'm not giving it a 10, because of the minor bugs that I deal with. If I were to include all the bugs, I would give it an 8, but I know that 2K Sports will eventually patch some/most of them.

Even if you absolutely DESPISE VC, this game is definitely no lower than a 7. There are too many games with microtransaction for me to penalize arguably the best 2K game to date if they don't patch it to death.

The level of rage about these issues has me wondering what I've been doing wrong all these years by playing a basketball video game as a basketball video game instead of an RPG.

I could see a 3/10 being warranted if they were charging you to launch a Play Now game. However, as it is, that review score is vastly over-weighting the importance of fast advancement in a particular game mode as opposed to considering the game as a whole.

This is true. At least they aren’t requiring you to have buy VC to play anything. I think my problem is mostly with the extra emphasis placed on game modes that have micro-transactions as opposed to those who don’t. For example, I also love playing FIFA and the offline career mode gets astronomically less updates than Ultimate Team gets. Feels kind of like I’m betrayed for buying the game each year and just getting roster and uniform updates.

Really? Even with stuff like the timeout lag, tiers not working in pro, not being able to see how many contract cards you have from the manage team menu in MyTeam, people losing saves in MyCareer, the ridiculous VC paywall behind almost every aspect to customization, and not seeing whet the end ratings are for archetypes in the beginning selection screen, settings not saving

I ageee Ethan the gameplay is the best in 2k history, but the bugs and VC bs ruins a lot of the game

The argument isn’t that they’re forcing you to pay for VC, just that in their most popular mode (MyPlayer) the grind you’d have to undertake to obtain a reasonably good player is massive. Add on top of this that if you play competitively (pro am and what not) the people that DO buy VC are now at a significant advantage. That’s if you’re even allowed to play with others as players would rather play with a 85 OVR than a 67 OVR thAt didn’t buy VC to boost his player.

Micro transactions that have direct effects on giving gameplay advantages in full $60 games are disgusting. Imagine a fighting game giving everyone only a punch and kick, but if you pay $30 more you gain super moves and combos (or you can grind for 300 hours to unlock those)
