Again this core issue is vc in the game. You want your game modes that you would play vc free but don't care about our there people I find that hilarious honestly. Also I don't care if 2k thinks they have a right to Nickle and dime their consumers, doesn't make it ok, especially when the game has been a buggy **** show lol. They want to take our money but give 2 ****s about putting out a product that doesn't kick you out the freakin game.Come on its just inexcusable. This is a problem we can't side step.
I don't care about it because they won't change. Don't you get it? Sales would have to plummet to 1 or 2 mio at most to make them completely abandon VC and that will never ever happen. Never. So what I'm proposing is to free the base game and the competitive gaming from VC and keep it strictly in the sort of online GTA experience of the park were you can throw down dunks with fire and dance around and all that nonsense. So people who like to play competitve basketball get a totally improved ProAM mode that is actually much more suited to the E-League style that 2k wants to do because it would really be about skill and tactics instead of money. They don't lose out on the VC business because people can still play in the Park and spend tons of money there but normal players can still grind for VC if they want to participate and not pay. The career will get freed of all that bs and all that corny stuff because it doesn't need to be cool and hip anymore it just needs to be engaging.

Nobody loses and everybody wins in this model. Don't like the pay2win of the park? Play ProAM with friends or people you meet online and go at it with players that are on the same level and maybe get good enough to start playing in tournaments. Don't like being forced to be online constantly? Play MyGM and MyLeague and MyCareer and just go nuts with your own customizations and what not. Want to keep making money on VC? Well the park is still there and everything is monetized, every single thing.

How exactly are you missing out? You can still play 2 on 2 or 3 on 3 on your own court in ProAM when you do team scrimmages and you can invite other teams to do friendly 1 on 1 , 2 on 2, 3 on 3 or play a proper ranked game with them.

I could make the same argument the other way around. You don't like to pay or grind so you want us to suffer with you, even though we might not want to play Park. But since both of them are connected and you don't want to suffer alone, we will never be free of VC. However it is a workable solution because a lot of Park players don't want to play MyCareer at all. They hate it with a vengeance and want it gone from their experience completely. ProAM players don't want to play with or against people who do not play sound basketball, steal spammers, showboaters and people who lack any kind of basketball IQ. MyCareer players don't want to be online all the time, don't want to have the customization limited artificially and Franchise players do not want VC to introdude on their game mode. So seperate them clearly and do it like GTA. The single player offline mode is free, the online part is but it's pay2win and the E-League part is free but requires proper skills just as in many shooters.

KOTAKU : NBA 2K18 is Riddled With Microtransactions

My thoughts on the matter that I posted in another thread but seem more appropriate here:

"The crazy thing is to me, is for our editing project we make multiple slider sets as different situations play differently (i.e. Playoffs, summer league, regular season & so on) and a "park" mode would CERTAINLY play much differently so why tune everything wholesale or disallow the ability to use custom rosters or sliders in those other modes.

NBA players play to win games and make plays (in general) while "park" style play is to be flashy.

I don't play park at all as I am a hardcore sim-head that started playing 2K when they captured our hearts marketed as "the #1 NBA simulation", but park play and the NBA are two totally different animals point blank and can not be fixed, tuned, patched or anything else together with a broad brush. It's irrational enough that two diametrically different concepts are based in one game with myPark having more credence than NBA play when the game is called NBA 2K.

Make two separate games or patch/craft them separately within the game. Period. That would fix everything; especially the fact that some people are judging on every word that a dev tweets because of what has happened historically in this scenario."

We don't need the game split into two separate offline and online titles; we need it split into an actual NBA title as the actual title is NBA 2K, AND Park which is where the VC is spent and most online complaints/changes are made. Maybe even tie the MYCareer story mode journey in in that game and allow us to port that player over to the NBA game once entering the draft.

All in all it's two TOTALLY different mindsets that go into each the NBA aspect and the other aspects so why convolute both?

Or we could stand up as consumers and not buy the game.

No, culturally ignorant people deal in stereotypes. They can be plenty smart.

In fact, you go and stereotype NBA players right here:
But yeah, obviously in this day and age it's racist to use the reality for 80% of NBA players growing up as an example to showcase how far the the choices for the players would go in the career I envision.
I don't think it's your intention and I don't think you mean any malice, but you keep digging yourself a deeper hole.

2k need not even entertain the idea. NBA Live's background for The One was fine as an undrafted rookie coming off of a severe injury. 2k could pick some sort of adverse situation like being highly touted but kicked off your college team, or like in Madden's Longshot where your player walks away from the game due to family issues.

I always buy the game on PC for MODS...

And I always buy it on PS4 pro for online stuff.

This year, I got the PC version only.

The VC microtransactions are scandalous IMO.

I do not know how anyone can possibly enjoy the MyPlayer / Online stuff, knowing that anyone who pays $40 more for VC has a massive advantage.

Even (blindly) charging for hair cuts. That is just 2K laughing in people's faces. Charge them for haircuts? Let's do it...let's take them for every cent.

Absolutely scandalous from a company people have supported for a long time.
