Has anyone else come up with an alternative solution for these guys?

Also, thoughts on the Bucks and Jabari? Do they need to trade someone to re-sign him or renounce his rights at the end of the season?
in my league I traded Faried and Richard Jefferson to the Pistons (who was the #1 seed) for Ish Smith and expiring deals. The Nuggets got depth at PG and saved $ for next year. The Pistons needed PF and I thought teaming Faried up with Drummond would be fun and old school

For Mirotic I traded him to Blazers and had the Bulls take on 2 bad contracts and in return get two 1st round picks.

I've seen Parker go both ways, I think in real life they would offer him big $. I traded a few of the bad contracts to the Hawks so will have him resign with the Bucks.

Faried, I think, could be a superb super-sixth man big or a starting big in a few situations. I like the idea of the Pistons getting him, I sent him to the Pacers (I moved Thad Young to SF, where's actually better by rating, and traded Thad Young, but for the purposes of you, you could probably ship Faried to the Pacers for Bodanovic or Collison straight up).

Mirotic is a bit tougher -- him to Portland would work short-term, but I don't like the fit longer term. Mirotic's deal is rather forgiving and as a stretch four he works solidly. I could see the Bulls moving him to a playoff contender for a 1st rounder without much issue ... someone like the Thunder for Kyle Singler+ a future first would make sense to me.

As for Jabari, I debated long and hard about whether Milwaukee would keep him or let him walk, but seeing as how he's missed so much time and the team hasn't seemed to suffer in his absence, I think the Bucks let him walk and use the cap space to tweak the roster -- the have a lot of young talent that can produce what Jabari does, in theory (Thon Maker, DJ Wilson) and though the Greek Freak is a super-star, he doesn't have a star running mate -- a lot of good players, less than All-Star guys though.

Jabari SHOULD be that star running mate but can't stay on the floor. So, I let the Bucks renounce him in free agency, use the cap space to sign Mirotic (and had them trade for Holmes from Philly, they had a horrible injury riddled year and got the 1st overall pick despite having only a 4% chance for it; they sent Middleton away for Holmes and his nice contract, plus a 1st).

My theory was that Mirotic+Holmes+the Bucks younger pieces would allow for better production, but I won't know if that theory holds. Milwaukee is on the clock ... the need playoff appearances to keep the Greek Freak.
      Any comments are welcome.

Re: NBA 2K18 - Trade Discussion Thread

What are some options for Mark Gasol in the offseason after season 1 ? The Grizzles didn't make the playoffs so I think it makes sense for them to move him and help the rebuild process ? Is there anyway to include Parson in the deal ?

Cavs - Thompson and the Nets Pick ?

Lakers - Clarkson and Randall ?

          Wizards -

Knicks - I could see them wanting him if Kanter opts out I just don't see what they have to offer.

Do the Magic or Raptors have anything to offer on top of there Current Center to make it work ? Both teams made the playoffs this year

I don't thin it makes sense for him to go to the rebuilding teams like Bulls, Hawks, Nets, Suns, Mavs etc even if they have the assets to make it work

I think Okafor has more trade value in 2K then he does real life he just look at this thread half the questions are about how to trade for him. He became my starting Center around the all star break and went up 2 points during the year. I'm sure his ratings/ stats would have went up even more if I had played more of the games.

I think in 2k it will take a equally good young player or a non late 1st round pick. That's not what the 76ers will get in real life just in terms of 2K he has more value. I think he is easily a starting Center with his age and offensive game. I think his potential is in the B's and can also easily be upgraded in the offseason.

Hmm. I like Gasol to the Cavs, it's an easy trade to make -- no way you're getting them to take Parson's ugly contract back, though, but frankly the Grizzlies won't be unable to unload him. They have a future first (with protections) going to the Celtics in 2019 and can't afford to attach future assets to Parson to move him along unless they're willing to risk a lot. I think Parsons, with his injury history and ugly contract, is virtually unmovable.

Gasol's older but has a very unique skillset and, seeing how well his brother has aged, he's going to be at least solid to good for the next 3-5 seasons. He lacks a title, so I expect him to go to a title contending team ... or a team that wants to try to be that. The Lakers aren't a bad landing spot (assuming they land PG13 in free agency) but that package is massively underwhelming for me -- I need a draft pick with minimal protections on it to really get me to think about it.

Plenty of other teams with assets -- Nuggets, Suns, Kings -- but all of them are nowhere near title contention. Gasol in the East would virtually guarantee him a playoff berth.

The Wizards, maybe. Otto Porter+a future first (minimum protections) is a decent starting point but not enough for me ... I'd need Oubre, too, and I think Washington says no to that.

Maybe the Magic, certainly have enough youngish pieces to swing a deal (Hezonja, Vucevic, Fournier+a future first for Gasol) but if they already made the playoffs, I'd find it hard to break up that squad -- after years of suffering -- for Marc Gasol, an aging center not on the Magic's timeline.

I think the likely destinations are

              A) Cavs -- Thompson+Nets pick for Gasol+2nd rounder (so the Cavs get something this draft, they need to stockpile some youth)

              B) Lakers -- Clarkson+Randle(or Nance or Kuzma)+a future 1st for Gasol

              C) Wizards -- Porter+Oubre+a future 1st for Gasol+Grizzly SF (I like this one the least).

Cleveland makes the most sense and the Lakers have historical precedent on their side (they did trade him for his brother, few remember that Marc Gasol was actually drafted by LA and traded for Pau with parts).

Yea the Cavs trade is the one I was leaning toward also as it just makes sense for both sides as the Lakers package doesn't include a future star. The Grizzles can now get Conley with a solid Center in Thompson and then 2 lottery picks to play the wings.

I like the idea of sending him to the Cavs. Seems like a "big move" they'd make to keep Lebron happy/around.

I don't see the Lakers making sense because of them rebuilding.

I really like the Cavs idea. I'd do that.

I’m running a Lakers franchise and want to dump Ball. Who would be the best fit for him, and for what? I also am considering moving Nance Jr. to make room for my young bigs. Same thing... where and for what?

I’m starting a magic myGM and am interested in trying to maximize my chance for a top pick. I was wondering if you guys think it would be fair (I know it’s not realistic) to offer the Hawks Jonathan Isaac and a swap worst of 2018 first round draft picks (so Orlando gets the better pick). I can include Hezonja as well if necessary. Could I take Prince back if I included Hezonja or is that asking too much. Thanks.

What about just playing the year out and using Isaac and hez to move up in the draft to get the player you want ? You can also trade away other players you don’t want for future draft picks and trade pieces

I think, if anything, the Magic would trade Aaron Gordon and Elfrid Payton -- frankly, Orlando is going to be in the lottery anyway, it's very rare for them to get into the playoffs in any of the year 1 sims I do. Payton and Gordon will want to get paid and Orlando will have to decide to pay them, or trade them away (like they did with Oladipo).

The Bulls roster tear down continues. Moved toward the trade deadline and made these moves(all below trades were either CPU offers or counter offers):

                            Bulls Get:
                            Aron Baynes
                            Semi Ojeleye
                            Jabari Bird
2019 First Round Pick (MEM) (Top 5 Protected)

                            Celtics Get:
                            Cristiano Felicio
                            Ryan Arcidiacone
                            2019 First Round Pick(CHI) (Top 5 Protected)

Boston needed the above trade really badly. They are one of the worst rebounding teams in the NBA and Felicio immediately steps in as their starting PF to give them rebounding. Boston can now make a run to the top of the conference from currently sitting 5th. If my tanking plan works right, no way they ever see my 2019 pick.

                            Bulls Get:
                            Meyers Leonard
2018 1st Round pick (POR) (Unprotected)
2018 2nd Round pick (POR) (Swap with SAC)
                            Jake Laymen (immediately cut)
2021 2nd Round pick (MIA) (Unprotected)

                            Blazers Get:
                            Nikola Mirotic
2021 1st Round pick (CHI) (Unprotected)
                            Paul Zipser
2020 2nd Round pick (CHI) (Unprotected)

Blazers get offense at the PF position and Mirotic likely starts over Swanigan. Zipser gives them some SG depth. I get some picks in the 2018 draft I desperately want and Portland gets some picks down the line when they will be re-loading. Leonard gets to be the starting center on a tanking team.

                            Bulls Get:
                            Jacob Pullen (cut)
2020 2nd Round pick (PHI) (Unprotected)

                            76ers Get:
                            Robin Lopez

Amir Johnson is out for 8-10 weeks with a broken left knee cap so Philly, who is in 6th in the East, needs a veteran post presence who can defend and rebound and take Johnson's place. Complete salary dump by me here.

                              at the 2018 offseason

I saw the Spurs had only Gasol as their center

Traded Robin Lopez, Jerian Grant & 2018 2nd round pick
                              For
                              Dejounte Murray.

                              Also Made this Trade
                              Jordan Clarkson For 2017 9th Pick ( Magics ) ( Took Luka with the 3rd pick & Brown with the 9th )

Released Deng so his cap hit counts against us....

Updated ( Edited ): Fired Fred Hoiberg and Hired Micheal Jordan

                              what ya think?

                              Thanks

Both trades are heavily in your favour, and unrealistic.
