Basically this.

You're equating those inconsequential clips of the head to your drives success, when they don't have anything to do with one another.

If you go back and play 2K17, where it was much, much harder to get past your man...you will see the same thing if you go into replay....the kind of clipping you are showing has been going on, it's not really a new discovery.

That said, there is definitely an uptick in clipping in 2K18 due to the new animation system, and there are real examples where clipping has actually caused an unrealistic outcome...but I wouldn't say any of these clips are examples of that.

I have to disagree. The clip of Austin rivers morphing through me, I played perfect d and should have had the steal or at least forced him back and ate up more of his 8 seconds but he just went through me.

And any time in any of the clips where someone got past they should have been pushed back.

Can't you post things like these into Bugs & Glitches thead, i am avoiding the general 2k forum because of things like these, things i would never notice but when i do i can't unsee it, i wanted to go to rosters forum but when i saw this title i just had to open it, now i catch myself looking and trying to see if there was clipping on the drive/play or not etc, i am enjoying the new driving system, last year's was really bad, you say they should've been "pushed back", you know that that's a foul, you play defense with your feet not arms...

That is how past 2k games have handled that, and it was frustrating and unrealistic. If anything, the examples you posted should result in a foul, not a player being unrealistically stopped in his tracks.

I watched the first five seconds of each clip, and first thought was...."Why the hell are you hugged up on the man that close anyways???".

If that was a human defender, then it's your fault. If it was an AI defender, I would try to figure out why they're playing "smother" defense.

The clipping is just a symptom of the real issue. You're playing to close to the ball handler. IRL, the less space a defender has to react to the offensive player, the easier it becomes to get by said defensive player.

I get what you're trying to show, but instead just try showing how it affects regular gameplay rather than super zoomed in replays. I find it disorienting and hard to tell what exactly is going on when all I can see is two people

I wanted to do that but the only way is literally to stream a game as I only have the "record that" function of the Xbox one to work with which shows you roughly the last 20 seconds of play.

That's why I said just load up your own game and see it for yourself. you don't have to take my word for it.

Oh yeah... I'm pretty sure you made a comment about how you played "perfect defense" against Austin Rivers, but he still got pass you due to the clipping.

These are jusy random inconsequential videos of clipping...its ugly, yes.but it doesn't really show us how 'game breaking' the driving is supposed to be...

We didn't even get to see how these possesions ended..

Um, you have played the game. They end in a basket or a foul called for you 7/10 times against whoever. My team is 7th ranked atm with phenomenal badged up 90 overall bigs and people just run in and throw up horrendous shots at the rim to either a magic basket or a foul. We've had several games where we move out of the way and see what the game does and it will be a foul after the clipping. I assure you it is not random.
