I only play with player-lock offline (and only PG position)

My favorite mode is again MYGM and mostly i like to play with the Timberwolves, Knicks, Suns or Bucks. But mostly with the Timberwolves, because they have great and interesting (young) players.

MYCAREER mode i play every year fewer, because i don't like how this mode progressed in the last editions of NBA2K. I like it more realistic, and NBA2K lost this completely over the last years with MYCAREER :-((


So this year is very interesting with Minnesota, because Jeff Teague is a flashy and quick PG who can score and pass, also have a nice defensive touch. I also first released Aaron Brooks and signed Brandon Jennings as the second PG. Tyus Jones is still the third backup.

With Teague i have a nice season so far, he is amazing at driving to the basket and doing crazy + beautiful layups. When i get fouled i have no fear, Teague is just great from the Free throw line :-)))

But maybe i create a own PG and give MYLEAGUE a try with expansion-team....

At first I was just playing a playerlock myleague just to get VC for mycareer, but now I'm having loads of fun with a created PG

Hey guys,

really good idea to play a realistic careeer. Especially natural progression of the play is something im looking forward to.
But really sad I didnt know about this possibility beforder. Wasted some time playing mycareer in previous edition of 2K

Want to start my first player lock career soon.. but still a bit undecided wether I should create my own player or use some young player already existing... russel would be intriguing, helping him to get to stardom in brooklyn..

Is there a roster you could recommend for this playing style? Im on PS4 by the way.

Im looking forward to read about your careers! Way better than the whining about shoe deals and stuff in the mycareer thread.

Im from Germany btw, sorry if my english is not perfect.

@ lawspecter816: Kann Deinem Beitrag bzgl. MYCAREER 100% zustimmen, geht mir genauso Eigentlich schade, wenn man bedenkt was für einen genialen Karriere-Modus NBA2K11 noch hatte und wieviel Potential da drin steckte!

How did you guys choose the tendencies for your player lock CAP?

I'm not sure how to set the tendencies so that if I end up simming a game here or there, my player plays the correct style.

I've always left it on default. Hopefully someone in the thread can answer.

Basically just set your tendencies to the way you want your player to play.

You don’t need it when you lock. Leave it at default. Unless you want to unleash your creation and see how he plays out.

I've played in the Player Lock mode in 2k16 and 18, and they're both very fun... my only problem is that when I play with certain players in 2k18, (for example, DeMarcus Cousins) the amount of minutes that I play are insane. They never sub him out, even when we're up by 20. He plays nearly 48 minutes a game (even though his minutes are set to 30-ish).

This is the problem I'm having. My guy is set at 35min but I literally never get subbed out. And if I do it manually I'm subbed back in a minute later.

What do the advance rotations look like? That could be the issue.

I always create my player with a specific type of player in mind, so when setting tendencies I will find a similar player's tendencies on mtcentral and use those as a base, tweaking as necessary.

Issue seems resolved. I restarted the my league because I wanted to cut it down to 58 games. I'm being subbed out now. Not sure what I may have done the first time to cause the issue.

You guys talking about not being subbed out seem to not have subs on auto in your coach settings. That would be the only thing that would cause this.

Nope mine was on auto, checked that when the issue occurred. Other players were being subbed out as well just not me.
