I think spacing needs to be a much bigger factor in teammate grade in future versions of 2K.

Players are rewarded for doing things on the court instead of playing good team basketball. Spacing is something you can't really "game" as easily as setting screens for easy grade.

Ya, the good spacing grade is there but could definitely use more emphasis so it occurs more often and sets a higher damage on your grade for poor spacing

So many players just spamming zig zag 3s. That is absolutely terrible and kills the idea of the game. Moving 3s should be way harder, because that zig zag doesn't have anything to do with basketball.

played my first walkon pro am game last night and I thought it was gonna be a sim experience.Boy I was wrong!!!The opposing team had this player that was shooting threes with a one handed ugly shot ALL GAME! He rarely missed even when contested and smothered.I can't.believe its players out there on some GOD mode stuff from behind the 3 point line. Totally killed my experience lol....he might've been a pure sharp but sheesh smh

42 after halftime...all the shots were on the 3 point line or behind em...never seen anything like it before(his teammates didn't even really score)

One thing you'll learn is that pure sharps and even sharp/shot creators can hit consistently from 30 if wide open, not even factoring in someone with dimer passing to them. The good news is that they can't hit nearly as high a rate off the dribble so crowding them is the best bet. If you are used to playing the AI you don't typically worry about guarding them close until they are at the 3 point line and even then you don't smother unless its Curry. You can't do that in Pro Am.

I've generally found if the person guarding them is smart, pure sharps can be slowed down. It's the 7'3" post beasts that are the real problem. They just sit there under the basket and dunk all game.

As per the complaint about spacing, we sort of discussed that earlier in the thread. You can get 5 non-shooters thrown together in a pro-am game and each is trying to play 'their game', meaning everyone clogging the paint. Now its possible to hit corner 3s even with a 50-something open 3 rating, but it'll only be at about %33. With open sharps hitting at %95, no one wants to pass to you after you miss a couple of open shots.

It's sort of a game of chicken. Everyone succeeds if a couple of players move out of their comfort zone and space the floor, but the first one who does is really only opening up things for someone else to get the glory. So everyone is afraid they are going to get stuck sitting in the corner watching everyone else go to the basket and never seeing the ball, or seeing it once, missing a 3, and never seeing it again.

I REALLY hate when players throw full/half court passes, even if they should go through and they're good passes, you should always assume it's gonna be a turnover. It's why I never do it regardless of if I have a whiny teammate crying for me to pass it up the moment i get a rebound.

Playing with young boys is 90% of the problems with walk on - I have great games playing with people my age. I play with my mic on so when I start my complaining they will attempt to force the ball towards me to prove a point and I normally respond with a positive play. Some kids chase stats but I try to play within the flow and the ball finds me.

Only pure slashers give me issues because they can just run and dunk or make contested layups. Everyone else gets cuffs and even that slasher gonna work.

You guys should look into starting some OS teams. Saves some headaches.

Intense defense/right stick defense ... trail/anticipate the cut back ... triangle to contest the shot ... its not easy but with a little practice its easier to deal with.

By far the best games I've had are in the daytime during a weekday where those kids are in school. Every team I played on had guys who passed the ball and were smart.

I'd love to be a part of an OS proam team.

Just thought I'd stop in and say I just had so much fun running with this group of randoms who only allowed me to take 2 shots that game. I really appreciate the way they jacked up 3's like today was the very last day the limitless range badge would activate. Had a great time posting up only to have my PG drive straight into me and the defender as if i was only there to clear the lane for him on offense. I was also thrilled that my center thought that if he got an offense rebound, he had no choice but to go right back up with it no matter how many Andre Drummonds were surrounding him. Mannnn I'd rather drink bleach than go through that garbage again. You ever play and get so mad you question why do you even play this game? Well... I just did.

Lord please don't let me get banned on Xbox today for cussing at these kids... These mofos got me all out of my element.

I'm having a hard time lately with teammates who screen at the 3 but don't roll. Their man ends up doubling you and you don't have a clear passing option because you're teammate is also in your pocket [emoji30]

I hear ya! I've found the only solution if you're just trying to play some quick walkon games is to lower your expectations. It's really not even the pure ignorance of basketball that is annoying, it's how arrogant these bums are who actually believe the ones with bball iq are the bums, and how stubborn and committed they are to absolutely sucking. I don't know if this is a microcosm of society, or just many randoms of the nba 2k community.

I agree with all of this although if someone is driving at you and you are still staying there that's on you. You need to depending on where you are just float to the opposite side or dive to the corner if you are posting mid post. So many times I'll come off a pick and I'll have someone at the wing while I'm trying to drive. They don't understand the dribble at and just stand there while I'm trying to create off of the P&R.
