He should for the best roster ever. I’m wondering if the actual roster makers considering all the detailed stats that Rashid post here...

He uses a flawed stat - PER for determining player's overall rating. While rating should not be compared imo, but individual ratings and tendencies.

        TEAM NOTES
        1. Portis looks like the best player on the Bulls. Shooting/passing better than last season on much higher Usage rate (26% from 19%).
        2. Zipser's career line: 6.1 PER, 47 TS% on 15 USG%. Just not an NBA player on offense.
        3. Nwaba following up on last season's promise. Good shooter, great rebounder and defender. Career marks: 61 TS%, 4 ORB%, 17 DRB%, 1.9 BLK% as a 6'4" Shooting Guard.
        4. Pondexter is healthy for the first time in 3 years but that predictably means he isn't good anymore.
        Great insight mate. Enjoying these!

It's almost as if statistics make up a player's OVR just as they do PER...

Given that I have FOURTEEN years experience editing 2K's ratings and most attribute formulas are ingrained in my memory, it would be pretty natural for me to have an understanding of which players are over/underrated.

They do..but different thing make up OVR rather than PER. So...flawed. Does not include defense nor things like athleticism, consistency and clutch ability which GREATLY changes OVR rating.

Rashidi's "analysis" is terrible. PER is an incredibly flawed stat. Guys like Bradley, Iguodala, Gary Harris, etc. prove this.

He thinks Bradley is overrated because of his 14 PER yet he's the engine that got Detroit going. He's arguably their most important player.

Rashid it's your biggest weakness when it comes this stuff. You don't think anyone opinion is good. You've been like that for years. I don't think I've ever seen you say. "Yup, you're right". Or agree to disagree and move on.

I heard the other day why Ben Simmons med range got a boost.

In real life Simmons is shooting 42% from the distance that Mid Range shots are considered in game on 24 attempts. He's actually only behind Embiid and Redick in attempts from that range on the Sixers.

                  Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

I factor in defense. Bradley isn't as good on that end as you think. It's not a coincidence the Celtics went from 13th to 1st defensively since parting ways. Detroit on the other hand slipped from 8th to 14th.

Bradley is a better player than KCP but he is far from the only reason behind Detroit's resurgence. It's the improved play of Drummond, Harris, and especially Reggie Jackson.

                    Jackson
                    2016: 19.6 PER
                    2017: 14.9 PER
                    2018: 19.3 PER

Ohh man but PER is a garbage stat that doesn't mean anything!

                    2016: 19.6 PER (54 TS%, 36 AST%, 29 USG%)
                    2017: 14.9 PER (51 TS%, 30 AST%, 26 USG%)
                    2018: 19.3 PER (56 TS%, 34 AST%, 25 USG%)

Hmmm yah PER certainly didn't measure anything here!

Talking about 2K's OVR and calling something else flawed might be the most ironic comment of the year.

I guess I logged on today to get my 2nd helping of turkey.

68/SG Sheldon Mac (OUT FOR SEASON)

                        TEAM NOTES
                        1. Morris is probably never going back to the player he was with Phoenix four years ago. and has been losing time to Oubre.
                        2. Mahinmi's lost 110 points off his FG% (47.6 from 58.6) and his turnover rate is way up.
                        3. Mike Scott was awful last season (5.9 PER) as his legal issue defined his season. With all that behind him he's hitting 45% of his threes and is back to being the instant offense PF he was earlier with Atlanta.

                          TEAM NOTES
                          1. Last season Oladipo (13.6 PER) looked like he was never going to develop. Now he's an All-Star and the Pacers top player. Career high 57 TS% on 31 USG%, marked improvement as a shooter (45 3pt%, well up from last year's career high 36%), and hard-nosed defense (2.4 STL%, career high 2.2 BLK%).

                          2. Turner is 21 years old and 2K anointed him a little quickly. He's leading the league in BLK% but isn't nearly the offensive player they think he is. He is not a post player you can run the offense through.

                          3. Sabonis was phenomenal in Turner's absence and is boasting 64 TS%, 15 AST%, 12 ORB%, and 28 DRB% on the year. Shot blocking is his weakness (1.0 BLK%), but he and Turner compliment each other extremely well.

                          4. Bogdanovic has a 67 TS% (9th in NBA), thanks to his 48 3pt% (4th in NBA).

                          5. Career best production for Collison right now. With a 4.55 A/T ratio he runs a stupid efficient offense.

Who said OVR is not flawed? You constantly keep putting words in my mouth.

Praytell then, what is the point of complaining about an "unscientific" measurement stat (PER) when measuring a likewise unscientific measurement formula (OVR)?

Maybe if you don't want things shoved in your mouth you should keep it closed
