It "does" happen correctly sometimes. But in NO case, whatsoever, in any organized basketball circumstance, should Horford be running to the corner, when his man IS AT 3/4 COURT. NONE. 3 on 3, 2 on 2, 1 on 3 (which this is at the moment)... None.

You can defend it all you want, that's bad basketball principles. I had 2 D1 scholarship offers before taring everything in my right knee. I've coached Little League, up to 9th grade... this is basic elementary school principles. Great, they get it right sometimes. But NO time, should this be the way it is. It's happened back to 2k16 that I know of. You all that will defend everything til you're blue in the face, or give this a pass, is why it's still here. I'll show myself out, because apparently you can't mention a large basic fundamental issue, that has plagued the series, which I've shown them video of forever. And this always rears it ugly head at the worst possible time, generally on the CPU super runs.

I've been nothing but positive about all NBA 2k news, but to ask them to fix this, then have devs DM me saying I shouldn't air this out there on twitter? This is an issue. If you've not listened to me in back channels to fix it, and it's still in there in ANY capacity. 1 time, or 20 times a game, it's still there.

I'm out.

Oh, and Giannis has 10 points, of the teams 10 points... so you'd think, that you know, you'd show him more attention when you have 3 defenders, and 1 Giannis.

I guess "Simnation" doesn't necessarily want basic principles of basketball to be shown.

I think at the end of the day, we can all admit transistion D needs work. Look no further than the PNO thread, nothing puts stress on transisiton defense than a 'cheeser'. We all see it. I try to keep it all in perspective though , I actually played a lot of MyTeam 3 on 3 in 2K17 (not even sure it was 18) so it's hard for me to put major stock in the clip personally.

Hopefully this isnt something that shows up in retail or things are ironed out by release....

That's Myteam the most casual mode in the game. You're going to get a lot of dunks and 3's. No one here takes that mode serious or expects it to be an example for the rest of the game.

Whole different video and I'm sure these guys didn't change any settings. At 3:15 KD gets to the paint in transition to challenge the layup and Lebron does the same the very next possession.

I agree with WTF, to my limited knowledge, there is no reason for AH to do that ... his assigment is not by the half court (even the other possible one aint either), there is a real threat on the opposite of his trajectory (more so considering the score of Giannis on that game), AH IQ is high, no lapses like that should happen for players like him ...

To me this has little to no relation as a setting/slider/difficulty issue.

Here is to hope for the devs addressing instances with such players and under such circunstances ... if it were Melo, McGee or other notable, occasionaly dissengaged players on D, maybe, just maybe ... but it would be a huge stretch.

I don't know if any of the people who are complaining about the defense in that Triple Threat video clip ever played Blacktop/Gauntlet mode in 2K16 & 2K17, but it had by far the worst defensive AI out of all the modes in those 2K games, probably due to a combination of its low difficulty setting and default strategy/coach settings that couldn't be changed.

Point is, it's foolish to try and make any conclusions about how other game modes will play based on a few seconds of Triple Threat footage, because all the modes in 2K use different gameplay sliders and strategy/coach settings that are tailored on a mode-by-mode basis.

Just be thankful that the kids and cheesers have another mode that's primarily built for them and will help keep more players with their mindset from entering the realistic modes.

We don't know who his team is, because they're at the 3/4 court line on the opposite end of the court. If that's a threat, then we've got bigger issues than Horfords ignorance on defense.

If this stuff happens quite often in MyTeam or 3 on 3/park, I'm truly glad I never enter those modes, as I'd have a mental breakdown I'm pretty sure.

And do I want him helping one pass away? Yes, if the pass is going to the backcourt.

If that's a new offensive scheme/freelance, I can't wait for the blog breakdown on the 1 in, 2 WAAAAAAAAAY Out set.

Basically what I was trying to explain, for those who have never touched these modes. TT is more of a time waster than anything I really take seriously, but I wouldnt even want an arcade style 3 on 3 game tuned to 5 on 5 regulation principles, lol

I'm sure basing a decision on a three-second clip in a sample size of one is a completely rational decision.

But seriously we don't need a little OS blog post to validate SimNation and the progress of simulation basketball. We'll find whatever OG and Czar put in the game whether OS, IGN, Metacritc whoever speaks on it or not. They don't need to throw us a bone with a little blog(taking the valuable time of the developers) just to satisfy the Nation. We are independent of that. Keep grinding....

I remember a time where constructive criticism was something used to help a game get better, instead of having guys run to its defense, and try to defend the indefensible.

This wouldn't be an issue if it didn't happen ALL THE TIME in NBA 2k16-2k18. At least a few times a game.

I call out Live for their horrid lack of attention to the NBA aspect of the game. I get called a 2k guy. I call out 2k to draw attention to something that has plagued the game forever and SHOULD be fixable and here comes the 2k brigade, to tell me it's not bad. I just want 2 games that I personally can enjoy for a year.

These are valid issues.

i stand with you man. with defense being such a stand-out issue the past few years (arguably the biggest issue), it's really frustrating watching that clip. 2k's priorities seem all out of whack.

however, we really should wait until we have the game to judge.

Why is Horford even running to the corner there... His man isn't even in the screen yet. Dude should be hustling back and protecting the paint. This was a HUGE problem in 2k18. HUGE.

funny how defenders run to the corner to defend in transition and my ******** o players all swarm the paint in transition rather then hit the corners lol
