It’s just frustrating that the direction they’re going, seems like they’re taking the Fortnite formula and masking it with NBA/Basketball. You can’t tell me NBA 2K league represents authentic NBA basketball you watch on TV, which I believe they are trying to portray, it’s a joke.

COD produced that "look at me" community
Doesn't mean we should b quiet and just complain
We need to ban together too and show support for guys like Czar and ScottOG and make our voices heard too

Online play has never been about realistic though. Not in any game

The effects of the online play is trickling down and affecting the quality of offline play. Even for those who like myself, don’t touch online, I don’t even have PS Plus, notice the quality of the product has declined and is being replaced by flashy gimmicks. (This year, muscle definitions is a big thing when this visual effect should’ve been always in there)
Don't disrespect them like that hahaha

Haha I know, it was an extreme example. Usually I am a day 1 buyer but I am going to be cautious from now on and wait till all the reviews are in and feedback from you and others here.2018-2019 NBA Champions!Comment

Re: What happened to 2K's crowd? The Atmosphere has regressed in the worse way
How did you guys feel about the crowd in playoff games or playoff mode? I personally loved it. It still could be way better though obviously... I really really really wish they would bring back the ability to add the sounds back to the game (forget the name of it)! That was insane back in the day uploading the file with all the different markets music, organs, and sounds. Not sure why 10 years later it hasn’t made a return. I agree though 2k crowds need work. More situational awareness. Wish we could have dynamic crowds and fans leaving in a blowout when down 30-40 earlier then within the last minute of the game...
In addition to the crowd, they need to get the arena sounds in the game. Organ music, chants, etc. are not done very well and don't play at the right times or loud enough. And I've already said how much commentary needs an overhaul.Comment

Re: What happened to 2K's crowd? The Atmosphere has regressed in the worse way
It seems like a simple fix.
1. Record audio ("O-K-C" "Let's Go Celtics" "Waaaarrriors") from actual NBA Playoff games.
2. Put it in the game.
I'm sure it's way more complicated but why waste time chanting for Tacos or signing "If you're happy and you know it".Comment

NBA 2k19 - one quarter - Celtics vs Rockets ("TD" Garden)
<iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/7dNoGnsmrPA" frameborder="0" allow="autoplay; encrypted-media" allowfullscreen></iframe>
Including multiple real NBA games as a comparison. Try to selectively filter out the commentators to simply focus on the arena sound, crowd noise. There's some type of "resemblance" in their between 2k19 and the real videos but it's still lacking especially for the opening quarter when it comes to the decibel level.
To me, 2k19's first quarter sounds more like the home team is already getting blown out.
@2:09 mark when 2k19 Irving scores the crowd wasn't really as into it as I was expecting, especially during the start of the game and when the Celtics were already having a difficult time scoring, and finally Irving made a bucket.
@2:43 mark when 2k19 Al Horford made 3, that gave Boston a mini 5 point run, that should have at least sparked an increased in crowd decibel level and a defensive chant thrown into the mixed.
Can't really finish watching the video right now, have to go do something else.
Personally, the 2k audio concern still stems from the lack of crowd energy when the home team goes on runs (even small runs, and especially long runs). And the lack defensive chants to energize the home players during runs while they're on defense. Or even to fire up the home team with defensive chants when things are going rough but still within striking distance. "Contextual audio"

This is NBA2K9

What happened?
Now we have dark arenas and the crowds cheer loud when its only a few minutes left in the game.
This needs to be brought back.
I just hope this is a focus for 2K20; It's past time to address this. Particularly disappointing is the attention that things like arena lighting and crowd reactions were given in the initial jump to next gen, and here we are 4 iterations later with the atmosphere looking and sounding as bad as ever. The regression has been very NBA Live-like, which is extremely disappointing coming from 2K. The saving grace to this franchise has been and still is the gameplay. But gameplay alone is not the game. Visuals and ambiance matter.
The update to player models was a very positive step a few years ago and hopefully we will have scanned arenas next. It's time.Comment
