ill be honest..if lives players didnt look like playdough cartoon characters i would have switched 2 years ago. i havent touched 2k online in about 3 years and ive played maybe 3 or 4 games ever online and it was against some sim heads from here like coach2k and whatnot. ive been completely turned off by how everything in this game revolves around VC and the crowd being a snorefest makes my offline experience even less enjoyable.


i want goosebumps when im trailing by 10 and hit back 2 back 3's to bring it to 4 and the crowd explodes..i want to shake in ma boots.

And whats up with the mini parachutes always dropping into the crowd? Is that supposed to simulate a tee-shirt cannon? Where in the world do you actually see that? It looks ridiculous

They do that for real life Clippers games as well. I've seen arenas alternatively do it by dropping coupons from the blimp that's floating around as well.

What happened?

Now we have dark arenas and the crowds cheer loud when its only a few minutes left in the game.

This needs to be brought back.

Game sounds definately much better. But I'am also kind of blown away by how seemlessly thoses dunk and layups animations trigger. They look amazing.

I'm still trying to get over the regression in the presentation of the game over the years... The older games especially 2k9 did a far better job of capturing the excitement and environment of an NBA game than the current offerings...



They did an excellent job of getting you hyped to play a game of 2K...

The player-to-court ratio also looks pretty accurate. I feel in the current game, they're scaled way too big for the court and lacks space.

I can assure you that Mike Wang has almost nothing to do with working on crowd atmosphere. That'd be more the area of an art director and audio director.

The colors look considerably better in this video as well. I feel like after 2k9, they started over-saturating and over-brightening everything. Seeing this video of 2k9 reminds me how close to real life it looked in the color department.

i remember on ps3 someone would walk in the room and ask what game im watching while playing 2k but now it doesnt really look/feel/sound much like watching an actual game.

Because it's not realistic, even though it sounds good while playing a game, people generally don't get that loud during the start of a game especially not a regular season game.

Maybe not every game, but a rivalry game like this? Absolutely. Generally the crowd is the loudest at the beginning of the game, then toward the end if it's close.

I'm glad you said this cause I was just about to type it. Not realistic at all. Plus, I've seen in 2K17 and 2K18, the crowd chanting Defense at appropriate times, Clapping Hands and Stomping their feet, were you could see it was appropriate.

I agree to an extent...it depends on the arena. Some fanbases are loud and alive after nearly every play, and then there's others that almost always seem to be quiet and dull.

The fake spurs chant

The sombie chant every team has

The crowd going silent when you make big buckets

The crowd sitting down when you make big buckets

I'm more about excitement when I play than some docile environment

It's been messed up for years

Yes, we’ve all seen these injected sequences but as a whole, current 2k audio efforts in no way, shape, or form represents NBA atmosphere. Everything is very much disjointed.

Go on 14-2 run with the Warriors on their home court and it is no where near realistic. When the away team calls a timeout to stop the home team’s momentum, the home crowd is near silent. It simply doesn’t draw you in.

Side remark: Please bring back 2k9’s releastic lightning. Bring back the cheerleaders sitting on baseline as well.
