Not a fan of the rebounding takeover, I feel like anyone who knows what they are doing has a good idea of where the ball is going to go.Thinking about making a post/shot creator or some sort of stretch big.

Not everyone plays on the 2k cam. Broadcast view makes it very difficult to tell where the ball might end up. Not to mention you can't tell if it's long, short, etc. until it hits the rim.
This is actually a realistic way to give the user the feeling of being an elite rebounder.

Which is why people shouldn't use broadcast cam if they want to be a good rebounder...
You know what else gives someone the feeling of being an elite rebounder? Actually possessing the skills to be an elite rebounder.
2K taking this hand-holding to new heights.Comment

I would guess the takeover element is replacing the HOF badges, makes more sense as it represent those abilities players have but like in real life it shouldn't be something sustainable for a whole gameLast edited by Wolf Ticket; 08-16-2018, 10:56 PM.Comment

Re: NBA 2K19 Arcetype Takeover Abilities (what we know so far)
I shouldn't only be able to get contacts if I'm hot. If that's the case, then the first time i dunk around or through minimal contact then my bar should be pretty full. Slashers NEED the ability to heat up faster than anyone on the floor. Sure, it could go both ways. If i get blocked early that could throw me off a bit. But shaking off a defender and meeting someone 1 on 1 at the basket, unless they're a defender, or a defender out of position, i need to win that match up most of the time.Comment

Centers i think will be good in both pro-am / Park that you wont regret making.. knowing what we know so far without playing the pre-lude yet
-Rebound primary / 3 point secondary
-3 point primary / Defense secondary
-Pure Glass Cleaner
-Pure post scorer
- Athletic primary / Defense secondary & Defense primary/ Athletic secondary
- Rebound primary/ Athletic secondary
Pure lockdown i wouldnt go pure unless you truly just love defending because lets be honest you have to be a threat on offense some way shape or form. Id mix the build with Athletic or 3 point shooting
Pure stretch im a little iffy on this popular build from the 2k18... your guards will now have a penalty for over dribbling, defense all around will be improved, blow by's wont be as reliable as it currently is.. idk if your going up against a great team and all the cheese is nerf will you even be able to get any open shots? if blow bys' are reduced id play staight up man 2 man D especially if the guard cant blow by my teammate.. meh i would just mix the build but keep 3 pointer primary.Comment

The irony of the lockdown defender is that everyone can lockdown himComment

Gary Payton, Kawhi Leonard, Pat Beverley, Avery Bradley, Andre Iguodola, Tyson Chandler arent elite shooters but they aint useless in offenseLast edited by Nwordbelike; 08-17-2018, 04:27 PM.Comment

Kawhi - defender/shot creator
Beverly - defender/sharp
Bradley - same
Iggy - 2way slasher
Chandler - 2way rebounder
Maybe not online but you could put up the same stats or better for each player in career. I wish you could add a 3rd archetype to be able to replicate their skills, but those players you'd have to throw in a second archetype to play like them. You can't be pure lock down and expect to be banging 3s.Comment

Re: NBA 2K19 Arcetype Takeover Abilities (what we know so far)
Am I being naive, or is the fact the game knows where the ball is going to land on missed shots a bit of a shock? I had assumed there was more real time physics involved, but that feature seems to suggest a pre-canned element to the entire shot process.
I guess it depends on the exact moment the indicator is displayed (as soon as it's shot? after it hits the rim?).Comment

I’d assume it would have to be after the ball hits the rim right? To avoid it being INSANELY OP. Then just because you know where it’s going, doesn’t mean it’s an auto board. You still have to box out. I think it won’t be OP. It’ll help the great rebounders be legendary and it’ll probably turn crappy rebounders decent. There were a LOT of BAD rebounders in 18 who chose glass cleaner that i outreboubded with my pure post
