Re: So the $99 version is the only version released early right?
i dont mind buying the premium edition of 2k, but im mainly a myplayer online rec and park player, nothing in that pre-order entices me but the get the game early thing, i'd like it better if they either gave stuff to mycareer online players cause frankly even with 100k vc we get in 100 dollar edition of 2k19 we still need to buy $20-$50 on VC just to max out our guys day one, and thats just build #1
they should either have 2 different options of premium editon one for 2k online my players, and one for myteam, honestly i know a lot of ya like my team, but i'd rather play play now online than that stuffComment

It’s $60+ tax it’s 65-67 depending on where you live. And you pay 50 you get 200k...
For the $100 edition you only get 100k. Which one is the bigger steal?

exactly why i was trying to explain why this premium edition of 2k is not enticing to myplayers online 2k players, which is arguably their biggest consumerComment

I assumed digital store prices were more consistent. If the difference is >30, then by all means, go standard. Just know that in a few cases it's a 20(€) difference, and the Lebron version becomes the steal.Comment

Yeah but it was the thrill of the hunt and getting something early that broke the street date made paying that much worth it. 2k is dictating this so I have no interest in getting it just to play early. Although if some mom & pop store were to break the street date for the anniversary version then I will buy it in a heart beat.Make perfect business sense for them to do this, because people over the years were willing to pay 100 plus dollars to get the game a few days early, and lets be real all the VC stuff is a result of consumers requesting a way to not have to grind because they did not have the time because of work and family.Comment

If you got it like that financially and can afford to spend a 100 to play the game 4 days early then hey...that's your money. But if you live on a budget be wise man...its only 4 days lol."Dunks are tough, but when a 35 footer come rainin out the sky...it'll wire you up"Comment

I feel the same way, I aint wasting a extra 40$ just so I can play it a few days early. I only play offline MyLeague and the day a video game cost me a 100 bucks to play, will be the day I quit video games. Quite frankly the price right now is close to being too much to play, when you consider there is seemingly always a couple major issues that have to be fixed each yr before you can really start a MyLeague, plus your really need to wait till opening night so you have that roster to start your MyLeague with.Everyone who exalts themselves will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted- Luke14-11

It is a horrible practice. Basically "buy our virtual currency or get the game late". They could at least give us something good for the physical release. Sorry but I am not going to put an NBA 2k poster on my wall. That will stay in the box I doubt I would even take it out.
Look at all the stuff you get for the WWE 2K19 Ric Flair edition. A replica HOF ring. A Funko Pop. A commemorative plaque with a piece of Ric's robe. And the season pass for $130. I would actually buy that if WWE 2k didn't suck.
Ever since NBA 2k started pushing their VC their special editions are basically just buying virtual currency. Even the MyTeam Lebron card you get is a sapphire. The day 1 Lakers Lebron in packs is a amethyst which will make that sapphire useless pretty soon. This is a downgrade from the ruby Shaq last year.(Amy if you got the $150 version). With better players released early on this year it really makes that sapphire useless.
With all that said I still bought the legends edition lol. I really wasn't going to and I think overall it is a terrible deal, but I had best buy GCU that is about to run out. Best buy also gave me a 25% discount code for them ending the GCU service. Which dropped it down from $100 to $60. I wasn't proud of it but I had to use the code anyways and it didn't work on Red Dead 2.Comment

Re: So the $99 version is the only version released early right?
I don't play MyTeam but I always thought the concept of opening packs of cards to create teams was always pretty cool. It seems to me though that having a dominant Shaq or LeBron card to start out with would take away the challenge or some of the fun. I'd like to have to have put in some kind of work or maybe just a really lucky draw to get something like that. It seems the mode is vastly oversaturated with dominant cards. It's really the same way with the MyCareer too. I don't want to start with all that VC I want to work for it. To spend 40 extra bucks to have an automatic all star is like spending 40 extra bucks to take some of the fun and challenge out of the mode.It is a horrible practice. I was psyched as hell to hear of the Shaq special edition last year because I figured it would have come with some good physical stuff but nope. Once I seen what was included I passed.Last edited by Gramps91; 08-21-2018, 07:17 AM.NCAA: Kentucky Wildcats

Re: So the $99 version is the only version released early right?
1) When does your GCU membership end?
2) Did they email you that 25% off code?
My GCU membership ends in November, and I haven't seen any special discounts like that in my inbox.Comment
