oh, they should. player movements on court are way cleaner when users run plays or freelances. way more fun.

This was great looking, I wish I could get Van’s playbook on PS4. If it is on PS4 then I’ve clearly missed it lol but I’ve always thought it was on Xbox so I’ve had to miss out on it. Imagine being able to get those same playbooks in mycareer too.

@Czar, in the blog you said you played on All-Star difficulty. Is that the best difficulty for a more sim experience? I believe Superstar was the best in the past with HOF being just slightly over the top on purpose.

HOF offers more ACE adjustments from the CPU. Superstar a little bit less. Rookie the least.

I start off my sliders at HOF then edit to custom (usually boosts to me, and hits to CPU because Im not great on the sticks).

Now that I've finished work and had a chance to read it properly, (if you somehow read this post) BRAVO Czar.

Once again, the tireless efforts from yourself and the team behind you is utterly mind blowing.

Pick and roll smart switch will see the game seamlessly emulate what the NBA Playoffs was all about from the conference finals on wards.

Series speaks for itself. And the breakdown on series AI really gave me an insight into how things may/may not play out when playing the CPU. Timeouts, adjustments all seeming more and more relevant each year.

Its an absolute breath of fresh air to know that there is a mind like Czar's leading the charge with human vs AI still deep in mind.

2K19 sounds like it will be as dynamic and organic an experience as we've ever seen.

I just wish 2K would completely unleash him and let the vids out so we can see the visual examples. Very disappointed with 2K there.

And 12 mins of Czar vs the AI is almost porn to sim heads. Can't believe we've been robbed of that..... meanwhile they let out 3 IGN vids and a bunch of ghetto trash vids which could almost put 2K into the hall of shame. Unreal. I digress.....

WOW. Thank you Czar and team. Without you guys 2K is easily a maybe purchase for me personally.

NOW I'm hyped.

Even though this isn't the same thing as the blog, data shows most of y'all don't even run plays, that's the issue with it not being updated.


This community needs to do better as a whole, but I see why every video looks like ragtaggers running by around just jacking up shots.

1. Its why i rarely play games in play now. The playbooks are not accurate on default, and 2. Most people have no concept of running plays.

I use the Hawks exclusively every year, and Czar has their plays in the game. They just are not in the default Hawks playbook. Without the proper plays the game isnt realistic to me, and I stink. Ha.

I'm not a basketball player in real life, just a passionate. And english isn't my main language so I didn't understand.

What's the difference between freelance, series and play ?

I found some stuff on Da_Czar's youtube channel from 2k14, 2k17 talking about freelance. Someone explained about series here in this thread, I've also included that quote. Someone in Da_Czar's youtube comment section defined what a play is and I've copied and pasted that comment here. All in the spoiler tag, includes youtube videos and links.

Series

A series, in simple terms is just like a tv show. It has the same characters every episode but the story is different from play to play.
I’m most familiar with Spurs Zipper as I teach that at a ju-co.
We always start with a Zip (corner to top of key) but from there we go 50 different combinations based on defense, matchups, time and score etc.
The fact that my guy Czar has that at our fingertips is amazing. 2k is more than a video game. It’s s basketball teaching tool if used properly. Thanks to guys like Czar, Wang and Scott. As a basketball junkie I appreciate these guys more than I can say with just a 89.99 purchase. Big ups gentlemen. Big ups!!!

For freelance the playcalling setting should be on manual not auto and play art on light or full.

If you have it on auto it'll only run plays and not freelance.

If you want to see all the names of the plays you call for yourself put the playcalling messages on show all.

There was some people confused on the previous page.

People always say "2k looks the same, and they don't change anything"...that only comes from the people that don't understand real basketball concepts and principles...this game gets soooooo much more depth added each year that it's crazy!! Can't wait to get my hands on this game.
