I haven't seen a lot of information that focuses on the business aspect of the MyGM mode so I put together a video on how the business side of MyGM works along with several tips on how to make a profit in MyGM.

What are your experiences with severe injuries? I just lost Trae Young to an Achilles tendon rupture and Im a little scared that there are some bad long term effects. What was the worst that happened with you?

my team is 45-24 with 13 games left to play in the 2028 season, good enough for 1st in the East by a few games. both conferences have been dominated by me and the Suns (the champions 3 years in a row) the last 4-5 years but this year we are much closer to the pack. im having a down year (won 65+ games the last 3 seasons) and my team just doesn't go out and dominate like they used to. I learned this early on in the season and tried to change lineups and make trades to improve but now here I am with terrible team chemistry (49%) and the postseason creeping up on me, I dont feel good about this teams chances. if I lost in the first round I wouldn't even be shocked. that being said, I was the front runner for years and could never win it all so who knows - maybe this adversity will be good for my team.

I started one last 14 game regular season with a fantasy draft and honestly I think I might keep doing these if the option is available next year, anyway, here's the team I ended up with

So far we're 1-1 I love these fantasy drafts I run. I think I'll just do multiple 14 game fantasy drafts over and over next year and run a full 82 game multiple season MyLeague simulation on the side.

Speaking of that I have been doing a fully simulated MyLeague with the Hawks and I used the 'Start Today' rosters right after the season ended. Right now I'm in the 5th season and we've only made the playoff during my 2nd season, we were the 2 seed that year after acquiring Eric Bledsoe who made a great 6th man and Marc Gasol. Now, Gasol has retired and Bledsoe is like the 12th man but we've been pretty much coasting along at .500 during the 3rd-5th seasons.

I have 2 rosters downloaded yet only one roster is available to choose for myleague... Anyone know why that's the case? And are there any fixes for this?

Not sure why but sometimes rosters you’ve saved locally don’t show. The work around to load a custom roster into your file is to search for the roster online and load it from there.

I’ve gotten saved rosters to show by deleting others I’ve saved but I prefer not to do that.

If it’s your own roster and it doesn’t show, you can always upload it and load it from online.

My PG who is in the mvp race just hit a deep fade away 3 off the inbounds pass at the buzzer to win 120-119! 1 game lead in the conference with 4 games to play. I'm worried though because the team who beat me in east finals the last 2 years, Detroit, is currently the 8th seed. I really dont want to play them.

The second season with the Hawks is done. Zion made a huge impact, lifting me from 19 wins in 2019 to 52 in 2020. I reached the playoffs as the 5th seed in the East and faced the Indiana Pacers. They got Kawhi in FA and also added D-Rose. So yeah, they are definitively a power house.

I lost the first game (5 game series) but came back in the second. Then I lost Trae Young halfway through to an Achilles tendon rupture. Zion and Collins stepped up and got me the W anyway. In the third game it was all Zion. He scored 35 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists in a last minute win. But in the final two games I was really missing Trae. Especially in game 5 where Zion was underperforming and I had nobody to score the points. So the Pacers won in 5 games and eliminated me in the first round.

The roster (the relevant players)

PG - Trae Young, 21, 85 OVR / 21,5 ppg, 1,6 rpg, 8,7 apg, 1,2 spg

Trae really stepped up in his second season. He was very efficient, scoring on 45% of his 3 point tries and was a great fit with Zion. The injury is bad though. Im not sure how he will come back but he should be healthy for the start of the next season.

PG - Rajon Rondo, 34, 78 OVR / 2,8 ppg, 1,8 rpg, 4,3 apg

He didnt get a lot of minutes but stepped up when needed. After Trae went down with an injury he posted a 10-3-11 statline as the starter. He is a valuable veteran and a great mentor for Young so I really hope I can bring him back on a reasonable contract.

PG - Seth Curry, 29, 77 OVR / 6,7 ppg, 1,1 rpg, 2,5 apg, 40% 3pt

He had some great moments and was pretty efficient from three but overall I wasnt that happy. I kinda hoped he would grow into a solid 6th man which didnt happen. His defense is bad and besides from shooting he doesnt bring much to the table.

SG - Kevin Huerter, 21, 78 OVR / 12 ppg, 3,3 rpg, 4 apg, 47% 3pt

Huerter worked out very good as a complementary piece and shooter. But maybe he could work best as a scorer off the bench. I switched to Johnson in the starting 5 two games into the playoffs as he is a better defender. And Huerter really stepped up as a 6th man.

SG - Keldon Johnson, 20, 74 OVR / 9 ppg, 2,6 rpg, 1,4 apg

He struggled early on as a rookie but after about a third of a season his role got bigger as he got more and more comfortable as a scorer. In the final games of the regular season he was the second most important player off the bench.

SF - Kent Bazemore, 30, 78 OVR / 10,2 ppg, 3,5 rpg, 3,8 apg, 1,3 spg

Maybe the biggest surprise of the season. He got a starter after 15 games and really lifted my team up. He isnt really great at anything but he plays with a lot of effort and can do a lot of different things. His defense had a great impact as well.

SF - Iggy Brazdeikis, 20, 68 OVR / 1,9 ppg, 0,8 rpg, 0,4 apg

He just needs time I guess. Iggy just played about 7 mpg and wasnt effective. He will propably stay at least another season so I can try and work his worth for the team out. He maybe can become a solid shooter.

PF - Zion Williamson, 20, 83 OVR / 20,2 ppg, 9,8 rpg, 3,7 apg, 1,3 spg, 1,4 bpg

He just got better every game. Zion is the future, his athleticism and his scoring abilities are amazing. He even had a solid season from behind the arc shooting about 33%. He missed the Allstar game but got named to the All-NBA 3rd team and also won Rookie of the year.

PF - Naz Reid, 20, 71 OVR / 5,8 ppg, 3,2 rpg, 0,5 apg

I drafted him in the second round just like Iggy. But Naz had a far better season. His numbers arent impressive but he had some great stretches and really can develop into a valuable role player.

C - John Collins, 22, 83 OVR / 14,9 ppg, 11,3 rpg, 2 apg, 1,2 bpg

I was a little concerned if he was a good fit next to Zion but he worked out fine as center. A little undersized, he solves a lot of problems with his athleticism. He needs to put up a little weight to be more effective but him and Zion as a two headed lob finishing monster is a lot of fun.

C - Marc Gasol, 35, 84 OVR / 12,1 ppg, 7,5 rpg, 4 apg, 1,2 bpg

Gasol was the only notable addition I made during the season as I traded Spellman and a protected 1st rounder to Toronto for him. He added depth in a rotation with Zion and Collins and was very valuable off the bench. I'd love to keep him but as his contract expires Im not so sure about that.

The future

The core is there in Young, Zion and Collins. Im in a great position as Ill enter the offseason with 76 million in cap space and only Gasol and Rondo to worry about. My main target is to add some scoring. Without Young, Zion is the only really potent scorer. Huerter is good but I dont like him as a ball handler that much which makes him pretty much one dimensional as a scorer. I'd love to add Buddy Hield in FA. I think he could be a great fit. But Im not sure if he really wants to leave Sacramento. The only real alternative I see is Caris LeVert. There are also some depth concerns but I should be able to address that.

I also have some great picks. The Mavs kept their pick last year but again finished poorly with the second worst record in the league. So thats a potential top 3 pick. On top of that I hold the Cavs pick (inside lottery) and a Nets pick at about 20-25.

A trade is another possibility. Ive got a ton of assets but Im a little afraid a big trade could throw over chemistry. The team plays well and I think it just needs some more pieces to develop into a contender.

I've seen a lot of myleague and mygm challenges but not too many that tried to take a somewhat realistic approach to the challenge. I decided to do my own mygm challenge in case anyone is interested.

The goal is to not only win a championship but also to reshape the roster into one that only has hometown players.

I made the playoffs as the #1 seed in the east for the 4th straight season. But my team is a mess. Too many trades, no chemistry. All my players are getting unhappy. And the league is wide open this year. I face the 8 seed Pacers in first round who always give me a tough fight. Currently down 3-0. Unbelievable. Its gonna be 4 straight years #1 seed and no championship. Absolutely devastating.

8th seed Pacers win 4-1 over the 1 seed Magic. Embarrassing. I don't know what to do at this point, my team keeps getting first place and best record but they just don't have what it takes to win in the postseason. My guys are all up there in age they're not getting any better, do I fire my coach? Do I blow up the team?

I am very emotionally invested into this league and it's depressing the way its ending. 2K 20 release date is getting closer and closer and I don't know that I will be able to win another championship before I start a league with the new game. I want to win so bad! I want to retire as league champion. Each season takes me about two and a half weeks at my usual pace of about five to six games a day, so I have about 2-3 seasons left. I'll keep you posted.

Scouting was a little confusing to me when I first started using myleague and mygm mode.
