I haven't played for a couple years, so I'm glad to see the changes that have been made. I really like the freelance, but I think the Series is a great idea. It's just the way the CPU runs it seems wrong. Just hoping to get some traction and maybe some ideas for next year.

Im not too sure what the limitations are or why its doing certain things but ill be sure to stress it to Czar if I am blessed to help with 2k20I haven't played for a couple years, so I'm glad to see the changes that have been made. I do know he had something else in there for it that had to be pushed back so I was bummed about that at first and I know he was so hopefully he gets first dibs this year.
Im sure that happens alot. Time factor.Last edited by 23; 11-26-2018, 06:59 PM.Comment

Re: The Official #SIMNATION Thread
Has anyone else noticed the switching is much cleaner since the patch?
I’m seeing much less of my ai teammate not switching after I have.

Re: The Official #SIMNATION Thread
I have a question about the playbook and the plays assignation to each player
if you have a playbook team with 0 mid-range or 0 guard post but the players have on his plays on play 2 mid range and on play 3 guard post, is he gonna use one of this plays or he is not gonna use these plays due to the team playbook doesn't have it?
thx in advanceComment

Re: The Official #SIMNATION Thread
Can someone please explain what they did to player progression this year? I’ve been playing myleague/franchise for close to 10 years now and every year I just do rebuilds with multiple teams. In past games i’ve mastered individual training and had all my setting perfect and somehow most of my players regressed! Collin Sexton lost two overall at 20 years old averging 17 points a game. I’m so confused. HeeeelpComment

Re: The Official #SIMNATION Thread
Agree with all of this! You don’t speak often but when you do I usually like it! Lol good stuff! I’d love that option! It’s needed to imo. Teams styles switch whether it be a coaching change , trades, future drafts, etc. it allows longevity in my league. Add help defense slider per team to the roster edits as well.Understood about 1st year implementation for series and such, eventually they will enhance it and develope it.
Hopefully for 2K20 we get to have some feature/option that allow us to have a say on what each team runs, even something as lineal as having a table within the game with editable values that sum 100 and that give you control on what you would see:
- Run plays from playbook = 50 (and within this, should run as many plays as possible, considering the touches of the players within the court and team coach oriented O)
- Run series = 20 (and within this, should run as many plays as possible, considering the players on court and team coach oriented O)
- Run freelance = 20
- Look to take advantage of missmatches = 10
While apparently less dynamic I think it would be better than the current implementation that we can not have a say on.
And since we are on this subject, we need to be able to finally set default freelances for teams, as well as if teams (on the D side) use: full court press, 3/4 court press or only 3pt court press, traps at half court or at sidelines.
All the above should also be editable under the main roster menu screen.
In essence, be it these proppositions or whatever, handling more options to the users is always a gain for both, 2K and us, its customers.Basketball Playbooks

Re: The Official #SIMNATION Thread
No, because there are no plays to call. That’s 1 of the issues with how they went about doing the playbooks. It doesn’t factor in players being traded, added in draft, or free agency, let alone coaches being fired. Wasn’t very well thought out or implemented...I have a question about the playbook and the plays assignation to each player

Re: The Official #SIMNATION Thread
I hate to say it so I won’t, but it’s not the HOF difficulty that gets those results. Everyone else knows my reply after that.I also do think that 2K is lacking a lot of the in detail depth of roster creation and adjustments to players in depth, we used to blame 2K Roster man remember(He had a name and a silhouette), i think that nothing's much changed from then, ratings are not in good relation with gameplay mechanics and progress made on gameplay can't be reflected as wide as it should with how little roster devs do; which seems not much they do in terms of ratings and tendencies etc. No offense.
As we can see from Rob's ai Ben Simmons examples maybe the real problem is 'maybe' the off-dribble shot and contested for Ben should be even lower at a rate like 35-42 or smt you know. (I'm not a roster guy, don't really know much of the real effects.)
And i also give some benefit of the doubt to 2k here that Ben was mostly not really defended so every once in a while as a basketball proffessional he does make those shots when not really contested.
We need to really understand deep to come to conclusions on these situations.
Or 'maybe' it's not roster adjustmen but all just gameplay mechanic issue and on HOF every open shot for AI is always Green and we all know the range and volume of the greens are pretty much high with NBA 2K19. And we know why and it's not for simnation for sure.

Re: The Official #SIMNATION Thread
5out is back in the game with full force after yesterdays update as you may aware from Czar's streams on YT, what do you think simnation? Do you think the ai defense and the defense mechanics are ready for it?Last edited by ataman5; 11-28-2018, 05:45 AM.Comment

Re: The Official #SIMNATION Thread
To be effective in 5out, I think the user needs to be good in skills to blow by the sticky defenders. I can see the challenge at HOF.

Re: The Official #SIMNATION Thread
Thank you, flattered comming from you, one of the community most renown members focused on requesting 2K enhance the authentiity of what we see on the court.Agree with all of this! You don’t speak often but when you do I usually like it! Lol good stuff! I’d love that option! It’s needed to imo. Due to my very, very demanding job and as I am getting older (40 a few days ago) I just dont have the time, be it to comment on here, to edit the game and test or to even play the game, at least as I used to ... therefore it takes a huge toll on the time for me to play, test and make suggestions, which I may or may not do within the window for 2K to make it happen for next iteration, then again, some of these things I have requested on years past, even to some devs (within this forums and directly).
I have always vouched to give users more features/options/editability ... most of what I have asked before they have given us so far, through the years, so I am gratefull and fortunate, and a firm believer of them giving us what we need, thus when they can. I have had some request overlooked (maybe due to off timing the request, at least apparently) and others that they have stated the complexity behind our needs and the game issues that prevent them to still give it to us, which when stated by the devs have given me a more wider perspective of valuing their effort and of understanding that not all request are easy fixes, even when there have not been tangible results when they claim to address some of those issues, due to their explaining, I am more tolerable with them.
Here is to hope for them granting us these request, as they are more things we "need" than things we "want", inspite of the apparent off timing. :wink:Last edited by ffaacc03; 11-28-2018, 01:26 PM.Comment

Re: The Official #SIMNATION Thread
I’m glad it’s back because it’s what some teams are running irl so we have to have it. That being said I think with this game 2k19 it won’t be as tough to defend because of the on ball defense. Last year I can see the issues because of blow by’s and if Help came it’s wide open 3’s. To answer your question though no I don’t think help defense is up to par yet and it’s because I think we need real scramble scenarios put into the game. We need rules to the scramble after help comes and it’s a drive and kick. Adding this would be great too to see more extra passes to hit the open man. Getting that right in a video game though and doing it right with momentum factoring in and proper close outs has to be hard though.
That being said when watching the Bucks they are hard to defend. Watching the Bucks and Spurs game the other day the Bucks probably had 15-20 wide open layups on drives. If that happened in 2k people would freak. Then when they helped it was kicks for wide open 3’s. Again if happened in 2k they freak, but it’s legitimately hard to guard! Only way to defend it in 2k imo is scrambling after help as far as rotations go if that makes sense?Basketball Playbooks
