Re: Differences in Difficulty Levels (Da Czar)
Both. Trae Young felt like a turnstile, Bazemore was harder to get by. At this stage all star feels simiest.

Re: Differences in Difficulty Levels (Da Czar)
Just asked Czar about this in a different thread a couple days ago. Appreciate the video as this is something I've wanted an honest breakdown on for years. I'll have to try All-Star and see this gap between good and bad defenders. Beat the Spurs with the Lakers on HOF but Aldridge was guarding LeBron on the perimeter a little too well lolComment

Re: Differences in Difficulty Levels (Da Czar)
I really enjoyed this vid by Da Czar, this vid needs to be given to everyone that starts complaining and whining about how shooting is too hard. Some people just for whatever reason, think they have to play on the hardest level, and when they cant win, or struggle, they automatically blame the game, rather than themselves.
Im glad Da Czar put out this vid to explain how they changed how they did the difficulties this yr. Last yr do to ACE, if you wanted a realistic game, you have to basically play SS or HOF, then try to find the just the right slider adjustments, to make the game more realistic. I basically spent all of NBA2k18, trying to find the right slider settings, to get a realistic game, and I just never could find the sweet spot. I think some of it was do to all the tuning and patching, as every time it seemed I had it close to being ready to start a ML, something changed in gameplay, and I was back to square one. Plus quite honestly, there was just things, that couldnt be fixed with sliders, it was just broken, and no slider adjustment could fix it.
I liked what I saw in the Prelude, on all star setting, I saw the CPU loose the ball due to pressure, and throw a bad pass out of bounds, and it looked organic and not forced, it actually looked like it was because of my D, and not because the computer AI determined it was time for the CPU to turn the ball over.
Hard to tell from the Prelude, on if they fixed the lack of non shooting fouls, so that is yet to be determined. The 1 thing I do have a concern with, and what was basically broken last yr, was the lack of shooting fouls on 3 pt attempts. I didnt see any while playing the Prelude, but really hard to tell, if that has been fixed, just going by the Prelude. However I did see the CPU bite on pumpfakes more in the Prelude, so Im hoping this ends up resulting in more fouls on the 3pt attempts this yr.
Tuesday cant get here fast enough, after playing the Prelude, its really hard to go back and play NBA2k18, and quite frankly Im sick of it, spending all yr messing with sliders trying to fix certain things, and improve other things, will do that to you, lol.
I keep telling myself, this yr Im going to try and break free of my OCD issues with trying to fix whats broke, with stats, and spending so much time finding the right slider balance, before I start a ML. Because worrying about trying to fix all that stuff, just makes me not get my money worth out of the game.
Heck I may even get brave and possibly attempt to play a game online, just to see what its likeEveryone who exalts themselves will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted- Luke14-11

Re: Differences in Difficulty Levels (Da Czar)
I like to do a little progression as I get more familiar with the new game, to keep increasing the challenge as I improve my station in the NBA -
Prelude - Pro
Bench - All-Star
Starter - Superstar
Playoffs/Finals - HOF
Really loved the jump up to all-star with NBA competition, felt like a whole different game. The additions to the triple threat are awesome, it's so much more intuitive, and with defenders increased ability to strip live dribbles, it actually makes sense within the game mechanics to work out of the triple threat, as opposed to last year, where it felt like more of a stylistic decision.
Also really loving the dynamic matchups - thought it was really cool to see D'Antoni put PJ on Kyle O'Quinn and put me out on Thaddeus Young, even though O'Quinn was at the 5, I was playing PF and PJ was out at the 3. It'll be interesting to see once my speed is high enough if he will be willing to do something like put Harden on Aminu at the 4 and move me onto McCollum or Lillard. (Those guys COOKED us)
(I think alot of people complaining about getting smothered by the AI etc would be amazed what throwing a jab step would do for them. I see alot of guys saying "I'm getting smothered this is so unrealistic", to which I say...beat your man then? If you can't present the defense with a penalty for smothering you, why wouldn't they?)
I let myself have 1 game as a starter on all-star - to cement my spot and impress my team - now i'm going to get hit with the rookie 'wall' my next game and bump things up to superstar - we'll see how it goes!Last edited by GK_11; 09-09-2018, 08:29 AM.Comment

Re: Differences in Difficulty Levels (Da Czar)
I just played a game on All-Star and all I have to say is "phew". That was some intense ****, for real.
I had Houston against Portland and we were trailing the majority of the game but within striking range. CJ McCollum was a straight animal. The guy was taking some filthy shots and draining a lot of them. It was pretty dope to watch. In general, the Blazers pretty much just let him and Lillard do it all. They didn't shoot all that great but, they were very tough to cover.
Late in the third quarter, I took out most of my starters and left Hoodie Melo in. Melo got busy and eventually got us a lead, which we traded back-and-forth in the fourth quarter. We had a chance to win the game in regulation, but I could only generate a trash shot with Capela, so we went to OT.
I was concerned going into OT because I didn't do a great job of stamina management, and it was looking ugly when we went down 5 points to start off the session. Fortunately, we got some big shots from Green and Melo to keep us in it, and then Harden did Harden things to finish them off for the win. Man, that was such a good game, hype ****.
I've posted pics from this one as well so you can compare them with my other game. The CPU still didn't get to the line very much, but they were settling for a lot of jumpers and I generally try to limit my fouls. The turnovers looked a lot better in this game too. I'll give it another run on All-Star later just off the strength of how much fun that game was. I think I'll play the Warriors and see if they light me up.Last edited by Pappy Knuckles; 09-09-2018, 11:16 AM.Comment

As someone who isn't great at shot timing, and always uses Real FG%, All-Star this year is making me love User Timing with the shot meter off.Jordan Mychal Lemos
