The way it stands it's better to just play against friends online to play with your favorite teams until this(hopefully) gets patched

They really should re-tier Golden state into the all-time category. Outside of that I have no complaints.

And no, for the 833628484th time, simply giving less credit for picking the Warriors will not deter one single person from using them. None of them care about their ranking, they just want the most unfair advantage possible.
Personally, that's better to me than seeing the same 1/2 teams over and over again. 3 days since release I think I've only played Golden State 4 times with my current record of 19-8. Whereas I would see Golden State at LEAST 5 times a day playing Tier 1 in 2K18.

so again, watching people actually have to learn how to play basketball with different teams rather than just ,altering one team...I am pleased.

But again, I want to stress that I understand the complaint of a lack of control of pick the team you want. you can't pick them ALL the time, just sometimes.

I'm sure most of us would love to see Golden State vs. Rockets all season long. Or Golden State vs. Thunder for 82 games, but there are 30 teams lol. All the teams play against each other lol.

If you want to use your one team solely, I'm guess that's where the MyGM/MyLeague mode is best for.

But I definetly get the complaint. I'm just pleased I'm playing different games vs. different teams.

The problem is you don't get to disagree or agree regarding how I or other gamers use the game. Notice I respect your right to play how you like and seek out variety. One of the chief tenets of gaming is that users get to select and enjoy the game how they LIKE. If I want to be a sniper in COD even though I suck thats my right, if I want to shoot threes every time down court I can do that, use the Pats every Madden game?--yup that too....devs can urge, sure. But forcing people to do anything always ends badly.

Bandwagon fans in videogames that choose the front-runners has ALWAYS been a thing and will always be. Rather than trying to change that incentivize players to choose other teams.

If you want team variety you can quit everytime you keep playing a team repeatedly....but you CANNOT disallow players from the team they want...thats not how fandom works.
NOTE: Any and ALL of my suggestions are specifically and only related to Play Now Online.

The more I read comments like this, the more angry I get, and I haven't even bought the game yet. I get it. The Warriors are an unprecedented all-star team. Yet, the solution was to force EVERYONE to use different teams and to lock the other teams? Just give me an option to backout, give me option to exclude certain teams from my search, and/or to let me search specific tiers.

I appreciate Czar passing this along, but this change is hard coded into the game. In my mind, they CAN'T change this, and we'll have to wait until 2K20.

Do i really have to dashboard reset EVERY single time I see a team i don’t want to play? Yes, I’m very much aware about the dashboard reset option...

              but let’s play your game...

I should reset 20 consecutive times if I get matched up against Golden State or any team I don’t feel like playing TWENTY TIMES lol? You don’t think that’s SLIGHTLY ridiculous lol?

Current Play Now Record is 20-9 now. I’m completely enjoying playing with teams I’ve never used before. And again, this is coming from someone who used the Pelicans 90%+ in 2K18.

I also get what the norm has ALWAYS been...why shouldn’t 2K lead the way for change?

What I’m struggling to understand is why people are resistant to use different teams? It’s not like you can’t use the team you want EVER...I’m still getting games in with the Pelicans and then using other teams when I can’t. I hope you guys find a way to enjoy the game this year because it’s REALLY good in my opinion...regardless of what team you use.

I didn't have that problem. One, the Pacers from last season wasn't in the Warriors tier. Two, the only team I really avoided was the All-Time Lakers, but I normally got a non-Lakers matchup in 1-2 tries. I mainly avoided that team due to Shaq and Wilt, because offensive rebounding was absolutely terrible last year. Three, using the Pacers Classic Team actually gave me quite a bit variety. In my personal experience, "variety" wasn't even a blip on my radar. In fact, I probably would have gotten MORE variety if the stupid matchmaking for other tiers actually worked as advertised.

To answer your question, I don't want to play with any other teams. Period. It's really that simple nor is it rocket science. When I want to play with other teams (which I normally due as the season winds down), I want it to be MY choice and which team. 2K Sports is controlling when and how often I play with my favorite team.

It's silly that this even happened. I'm already picturing what's going to happen during the regular season. I'm going to watch a great game by the Pacers against whomever, and it's going to get me hyped to play a quick game before I go to bed. Oh damn! I already played and won their tier. NOW, I'm stuck playing and completing the other tiers, before I can play with my FAVORITE team again. On the flip side, I could drop games to "reset" the level, but I do somewhat care about having a winning record.

At the end of the day, it was a f*cking stupid idea for a SPORTS game which has a history for fandom. What fan wants to buy a game then be told how and when he can use his favorite team?

Re: Online H2H: Team Selection Restrictions

so for years you guys have been trying to get people to play this new my player nothing wrong with that but this year it seems you have fully invested in that and said we don't care for those who like to hone their skills with one team. me being a fan of the Detroit Pistons this being the best roster they've had in years I was looking forward to playing every single game online as I did with them last year. , So I played the first freshman level game, using tier 2 because that where the Pistons are...I win..now I can't play with tier 2 again? Do I have to beat the entire freshman tier, to be able to choose the same team every time? Please change. You have successfully FORCED me to play MyPlayer, you win. It worked, now for us guys/gals who like to play "real team vs real team" typically master set plays and enjoy playing the real team basketball aspect...please, allows us to play, with whatever team with want, keep the same tier levels and what not, just don't make me play with all 3 tiers, seriously, why would you take that away from us? When the Pistons got Blake Griffin last year it was so funny to see the influx of people I had to play using the exact same team..I beat them most of the time because they dont, actually know how to run plays, I can run 7 plays without play art, I've been practicing for 2 years,...I only want to play with the team I've been practicing with, learning the plays, personal, traits, and after all that I now have to play with other teams...sucks. FYI I'm so good with them Pistons I can play ANY team and keep up. Bring it back PLEEEEEASE I know I can't be the only person upset over this, and I do mean upset not just kinda mad.... especially with the whole micro transactions under such a scope, it'd prob just be best to let us play with our teams so it doesn't look like you guys are money hungry. That's why you can't find a YouTuber who plays staight head to head because you guys don't promote it, it doesn't make as much money. Sucks that we went from "pick up the sticks" to pick your players, coaches, arena, ticket price...like yo, let's just play b-ball...y'all silly 2k, moves like this are what creates the slim chance nba live has..like why would someone ever play nba live- oh so they can play online with one team all year. Heck, they paid 100 bucks, they should be allowed...yess I pay the extra money every year, and yet this is the only year I've ever even open up "my player" because I don't want to play with the magic

Also, please stop trying to make this about the Golden State Warriors and not being able to play with them every time because that’s not what it’s about at all they don’t give a crap about who you play with. they just don’t want you to play with anyone except a my player my team a myspending money anything .also 20 and 9 guy, I’m calling your bull, screenshot or I didn’t happen. If anyone would like to see a screen grab of me playing every single game with the Detroit pistons online in 18 I can do so. ...and stop being scared of gsw,,,I’ll beat them with Detroit, if you play with them that means you lack skill, cmon get exposed.

This decision is definitely about the Golden State Warriors. Some stat head on the development team read some report that said that this number of users overwhelmingly used the Golden State Warriors, and they took it upon themselves to say they were going to force more diversification among the team selection.

“Some stat head” do you know his name? I think him and that story you just gave me we’re created in the forums, I haven’t seen any actual proof of this story having ANY LEGITIMACY at all. “Read some report” ,with my little research, the story was created by a forum member who dislikes the golden state warriors.

This is here to stay (for atleast this season anyways).

Like, how would they change it ? How would they remove the tier restrictions?

PNO 2k19 has been built/designed for this.

How would the change/fix it ?

All changes are a result of data, reports, and feedback. NBA 2K19 is literally a result of feedback that they have gotten over the years.

Or are you just saying somebody just woke up one day, and said "Hey! Let's change the system for no reason."? I have been playing this game for many years, and 2K sports is not known to do something for just absolutely no reason.

FYI, no one cares or hates Golden State THAT much where we would want our freedom to pick whatever team restricted.
