The story mode is done after you play the final game of the year vs the spurs

Man, power forward might be my new go to position. I usually start as a slashing point forward but this year I went with a pure point forward and didn’t enjoy it so started fresh as a shot creating post scorer and it’s so much fun.

I’m with the Rockets and my game fits perfectly with how they play. I can post up and score on almost anybody or I can be the screener in a pick and roll or pick and pop. I can stand in the corner and hit a three occasionally, or I can pass out of the post or the hall roll to an open man because Dimer maxes at silver on this build.

Close to finally starting MyCareer. I'm waiting on next roster update to start. I want to wait for potential trades. Really think Suns are going to try to make a move for a PG. But uncertainity of when. Or the potential blowup of Wizards. But after February, I won't have much time to play any games at all. So I have to start soon. There are other games, I want to play and get out the way first. But don't want to wait until January to start playing.
I'll have about 70K VC when I start. So I'll start out around 73, but I'll play like a Mid-80s player. I'm on a wait and see. I'm going to wait for the next roster update. If trade rumours don't ramp up, I will start right away

I got a 7’0 pure glass cleaner and a 6’7 shot creator sharp I just created and I’m doing the prelude for.

I was getting so frustrated with my 67 OVR sharpshooting / shot creating SF, I almost bought VC.

Then I reminded myself it’s a process and with time MyPlayer will improve in due time.

I hope to win the X-Trivia one day and make more coin through endorsements and future contracts.

My guy, I feel your pain!!! I made a 6'9 SF shot creating/slasher and I was so frustrated in those early days and low overalls. I was convinced that when I got the chance I was going to change my archetype. But now I'm a 91 overall and I love this build. I can get to the rim almost with ease, I can post, I can shoot the middy and the 3. Only thing I wish was better was my ball speed but I counter that by just making smart and timely moves and not just flicking the right stick all over the place. I was also like 2 or 3 questions away from winning the trivia. That 500,000 VC would have been love lol.

Can you give me any tips on spending VC on the attributes that can make this early process less painful. Currently OVR 67 sharpshooter / shot creator.

Another odd thing I’ve noticed the game penalizes mistakes much harsher than giving you credit/VC for playing well.

Lateral quickness is cheap, acceleration is much cheaper than speed and affects lateral quickness as well. Once those are at least a 60 then you can stay in front of your man. If you can go for blocks/shot contest before steals it helps as it'll help your defense also.

3 pointer is usually better than going for midrange as mid is just too inefficient when you can just lay it in.

Also, animations and situations are better than layup ratings. If you're looking to make contact layups, they're not going to go as much unless you euro-step or reverse. Specifically, i have a 70 layup rating so i could get the Long Athlete animation package to have better euro animations. Floaters are a wash even with high ratings and the badge.

Get a 60+ 3 ball and catch and shoot bronze and you'll be viable wide open.

I find the best time to shoot is in transition.

If a shot goes up, don't crash unless you're directly under the basket. Ever. Just leak to the corner and i promise the CPU will always guard the roller when you have numbers. Even if you've hit the last 4 3s from that same side, they WILL not stick to you if you have numbers.

                    Hope this helps.

It looks like roster update is coming within next 24-48 hours. So I'm going to start playing soon. Most likely Friday night. I was also waiting for potential trades. But I don't think It is worth waiting potentially up to a month. I don't want it to be like last year where I waited until All Star Weekend. Besides Ariza, Suns/Magic Point guard situation, and Wizards, I don't see a major trade happening soon. Fultz injury effects many trade rumours, don't see Celtics trading Rozier, Clippers are doing too well to trade one of their PGs, Knicks are a possibility, and no one wants Wall's contract.
I'm mainly waited for roster update mainly because it will affect the team I want to sign with. I will sign with Mavs. I know Luka will receive a boost. So that's why I waited. As far as real life trades, I don't see any trades affecting the team I want to sign with. And after 1st year, league always looks totally different anyway

I have a PF on the Mavs, as you usually play big that's a great spot for that team. And that's not just me being a homer, but a gamer too. I made a pure athletic 6'10 and he's only a 75 but i have Posterizer Gold and all the contact dunks equipped. The amount of fun on that guy solely playing career is tremendous. I really like that character, but Luka is vastly under performing on that season. I try and feed him, but he's far too passive. He was touted as a playmaker before entering the league and i created that player before this recent winning surge we've had in real life. In my more recent season he's retained all of his passing and ball handling, but got shooting boosts across the board and instead of a Playmaker Takeover he has a Shot Creator.

My most recent character is a 65 OVR SG 6'6 shot creating slasher. I just got the starting line up averaging 21 off the bench in 18 games. We're tied with Golden State with only 3 loses for first in the conference.

                          Dirk
                          Deandre

That's our starting line up until i can start controlling the minutes. Once that happens i hope I'll be rated at least a 70 or so with my badges decent and my dunks maxed.

Once i can set the line up I'll start DSJ and hopefully i can keep the 3 of us in the 20s. That's my goal with this guy, i want Luka and DSJ and i to average 20ppg together.

Thats why I waited until this past update to start. Even though Luka didn't receive an upgrade in overall, hopefully he received a update in tendencies. That is my hope for DSJ and Luka to average 20. But I have strong feeling DSJ who shoots 40% from field. Like how it was for me with Kings last year. Fox was attempting contested inside shots way too frequently. It took until 4th year for him and adjusted playcalls, for him to play like his rating. Also can see Luka still playing passively.

What helped me last year, was being able to change individual playcalls and lineups. Even though I pretty much had to change it back before every game, being able to adjust the plays being called was huge for me. Where if a guy can only shoot 3s, then I would only have 3pt shot as his Priority. If there was a big who couldn't score in post, then I would remove that as one of his priorities. My thing was doing what a player does best.
I will most likely follow the same model and sign with a younger team in 2nd year, hopefully with a top 3 pick. So first year, is just to develop until I get to 90, then sim until 2nd year.

I would focus on things like speed, lateral quickness, acceleration, 3pt, etc. things that you're gonna NEED to compete. Don't worry about layups, and dunks, and things like that at first.
