They actually did this in the earlier careers. I think it was 2k11 you picked something like Athletic and you started with a 70.
    Fully agree.
I want to actually play like my build off the bat. Give me low 70s in my primary ratings, low 60s in my secondary ratings, and with set athleticism. That way you start out low 70 OVR but able to play like your build.

It's has been a frustrating few years since they tied into ratings into badges. You pretty much have to grind out Free Throw Ace in practice unless you can get 10+ Free Throws in a game. Even in Practice, you need to make like 16 Free Throws to get 3 stars and with no badge, you need near perfect timing to make enough free throws. But yeah, I don't like how Defensive ratings are tied into Defensive Stopper. So as a Lockdown Defender starting out, you need high athleticism right off bat to be able to defend

Especially as a guard I find this to be so frustrating. Find a that’s currently in the NBA that has a 65 overall free throw. Ben Simmons doesn’t count lol but even when I got the silver free throw ace, which by that time my free throws went to 81 but I made more FT shots at 75 (bronze free throw ace) instead of when I got to silver FT ace smh. This game lol

Just started back playing and noticed I was close to the Mypoints Cap, played a few games and finally got it, was excited to finally be able to upgrade then only was able to upgrade 1 point toward 3 stats. My Player in 89 not sure if I'll make it to 95 which is as high as I wanted to be able to created a 2nd player with a higher rating. That really sucks

There are quite literally 3 different timings I've noticed. It's not just the window like a normal jump shot either. My "green" spot literally changed. Fortunately I've had the same FT animation on 5 different characters. I have 3 with silver. If I'm "late" from no badge to silver I'll mostly miss. "early" seenms to be better if not green.

However, once i get silver it's "late" it goes in "early"not so much. Very hard to green even tho i feel i release it early when i do. I feel like my specific animation is glitched but I'm so efficient with it i keep it.. I've average around 71 percent before the badge to round about 80 with bronze and i shoot close to 90 with silver. I know because i go through my split stats every month.

Also, when it comes to me and my characters I'm finishing a lot. Shooting characters don't have the ratings to drive as often or efficiently so i spend a lot of time on the line. Players that hang outside aren't going to get good at the line very fast. You have to set the tone early in your career if you want to be successful at all phases of the game. I feel I'm a better defender and able to affect the game with my athleticism so I'm ok with not playing shooting characters. Matter of fact, I've led the league in shooting percentage on multiple characters because i score in transition and get great looks most of the time.

If I'm in a half court set on an off ball character I'm not usually just spotting up and hoping they make the right read and see me open or trying to come off screens in catch and shoot scenarios.

My PG slasher just gets what he wants in pick and roll so it's just too easy.

My most recent guy I'll shoot in transition from the corner (58 3 ball) but I'm not going to put up more than 3 outside shots a game.

I'm also shooting around 85% in the paint. LMFAO i like looking at my hot zones for the season. So I'll get to the line maybe 5-6 times a game usually.

I've been saying it for months, i play like i want to play. I'm less interested this year in what's a "good" build because I'm not playing online much if at all this year.

Slashing characters just have more fun..

            Re: Official MyPlayer/MyCareer Thread

Ever since I focused on athleticism, I have been playing better. Last 3 games I averaged 17pts, 8 rebs, 1.5 blocks, 1.3 steals. I'm playing on HoF until I progress my player to 90. It makes getting badges so much easier. I have 12 badges after 11 NBA games. I have Silver Hustle Rebounder and Defensive Stopper. Bronze Bruiser, Brick Wall(2 games away from Silver), Putback King, Relentless Finisher, Pick & Roller, Posterizer(few games away from Silver), Rim Protector, Pick Dodger, Quickness, Pick & Popper, Catch & Shoot. As long as I get 2 stars on Corner Specialist, I can get Bronze in the next Practice. Then after that Free Throw Ace. If I can get a few Free Throws in next 2 games, I can get Bronze in one set of practice. Then after that, I will focus on progressing badges that are close to next level. It is so easy to get badges this year. It seems like by game 25, I will have most badges maxed.
I'm only playing on HoF to progress quicker. After that I'm bumping it down. The margin for error on defense on HOF is ridiculous. My main goal is 90 OVR. Most of level rewards don't interest me. This might be only career. So I don't care about 95. 94 perk is something I might be interested in.

Its all about the money (VC), you could start with 85 without playing a game.
in 2k11 it was not possible, you have to grind your points and with these points you were able to improve your attributes...

Personally, I also found the old system much better. But like I said its all about the money.

That and online pull is what caused this. With 2k leagues and online play, alot of gamers want to comptetive as possible right off the bat without working for it. $60 is enough for me, I paid 30 since I got it on sale. I'm not trying to spend money on microtransctions on a video game just to make it easier

I will defintily not support this developement.

If you consider that the product has completely changed after 2-3 months compared to the release date, It's just a cheekiness.

There were many empty promises this year, thats why I m not gonna buy the next title.

Yeah I found a release that works for me and I’ve been making more free throws. I had to think back to my last gen console days on PS4 and remembered that I would always pick the generic free throw release so I searched 2k19 and was able to find it (release 38) but since I’ve changed it, I get way more greens and miss a lot less FTs than before. I went from shooting 41 percent to 46.6 in one game after changing my FT release lol. I think before I had MJs. Hopefully by the end of this season I can get him up to the 70-80 percent range. Also I agree with playing how I wanna play perspective bc that’s the point of the game. I never fall into the category of people that try to make a build so they can go and dominate park/Jordan Rec etc. but me, I strictly play my career and will occasionally play park but only when my friends are online, I tried running with ransoms and that’s exactly all I was doing, just running up and down the court without getting a pass from a teammate so that’s that lol.. I’m a sharpshooting playmaker. First time trying any sharpshooting build tbh and I love it, which is surprising bc Im old school so I’m more of a attack the basket type of fan when it comes to how basketball is played. Jordan has always been my favorite player so I would often make my players to mimic him or style or play. I’m really enjoying this sharp so far.

Yeah my shot creating slasher is about as Jordan-esque you can get. I'm only a 74 but I'm averaging 35 ppg on almost 70 percent shooting! I play on AS right now, will probably go up to SS when i hit 80.

Just upgraded my 3 ball to a 61 and am shooting 37% on the season.

I really enjoy this build playing on the Mavs with Luka and DSJ.

The last few games i brought my scoring down to about 25-30 ppg and Luka has been filling it up. I think last game he had 27 with 8 rebounds and 7 assists.

It's funny i have a problem with NOT wanting to dominate too much.

My SF is now a 74!! I played and saved all my VC for the in-game month of December, won VC on 2 daily spins, and endorsements. I earned just over 46,000 VC to jump from 69-74 OVR.

The height well like I said I wanted to create Mike Tyson if he ever played basketball. I don't really take online very seriously. I consider this build more of a project. When I do take it online I'll probably play a couple park games and maybe try out pro am with this build.
