Just fired up a game on All-Star. Me (Nuggets) at home vs cpu 76ers. This is the Sixers first 8 possessions.

76ers win opening tap. Simmons no pass possession shoots fade away baseline (miss).

Next 76ers possession Simmons dribbles the clock down to 8 seconds passes to Reddick gets the ball right back hits a 15 footer.

Next possession Simmons zero pass possession works his way to the post, misses shot, Embiid follow up.


Next two trips up the court they inbound to Reddick. He dribbles up the court and dumps it down to Simmons in the post both times. One miss (step back) One make (spin to basket dunk).


Next trip ball on left wing Simmons shoots a step back 18 footer (miss)


Next possession Simmons finds a cutting Covington for a dunk.


Next possession no pass Simmons gets fouled on a 18 foot fade away from the left elbow.


So in the first 3 minutes of the game Simmons is 2 for 6 and shot the ball on every possession except one. Was taking his 7th shot when he got fouled. Embiid got zero touches. Just a putback. Covington 1 shot. Outside of bringing the ball up court on a couple of possessions Reddick got exactly one touch and immediately passed the ball back to Simmons.

I know it won't continue to play out this way but Simmons is on pace to shoot 70 times....

I understand Jamal Murray can't check Simmons and the cpu is obviously seeing this as a mismatch but to totally abandon any semblance of an offense in favor of having a player play totally out of character is an odd choice.

Im telling you. Play on HOF. Then the CPU will give you what you are looking for.

I don't understand why 2k can't get tendencies right. Take stats and translate into tendencies. I mean at least get them in the ball park

You gonna pay some VC for tendencies? Then it’s not getting fixed, this games been out two weeks and they haven’t even bothered to fix the player mentorship in the MyLeague mode. If it’s not the MyCareer or MyTeam mode it’s not getting attention.

I made a myleague and have a player lock going, anytime i ask for a post up, my A.I teammates dribble closer to me in the post, and have the ball stolen from them alot, instead of just going to the wing or free throw line extended and using protect ball mode to pass it into the post, they just dribble into their man and have the ball stolen countless times.

have you played/can you play against the sixers and report your findings. I have tried all the difficulties. edited simmons to 0 touches 0 shot tendency. embiid to 100 does not seem to ever matter.

Lol. Thanks for taking the assignment. I didn't really notice this until I played them. I been trying to adjust this in every way I can. No dice. I'm feeling like I have to concede this team and possibly this style is just a no go.

Now here is one more thing I will say about this. Again, it goes back to realism. Yes, you want the real life counterparts play to be mimicked in the game because that is realism, however what is also realistic is "randomness " the randomness of players having bad games or maybe not doing the same thing every game.

Ben Simmons was mentioned. We remember Ben Simmons had one point in a playoff game. I keep asking this question and it looks like I still never stop asking here:

How much realism do you really want?

Do you want the one point game, or games were Steph Curry has gone 1-10 reflected in the game from a realism standpoint or do you want the players to always have the same outcomes , which are usually favorable outcomes?

I will continue to ask this as we move closer and closer to realism.

This is an excellent point as well. I just want the numbers to matter. If it was just a matter of over-rating that would be fine because it can be fixed.

I think theres a really "smart" system behind this in terms of the organic way that the cpu is playing. But in this way it also loses the ability to play distinct styles.

In this particular example I just want to see them acknowledge embiid. However he seems to be the ultimate "token" big man. Just get the rebound..lol. They run down and often shoot before he is in the frame.

Just for the heck of it, for Simmons try 1 for touches and 1 for shot tendency and put Embiid at 99. I personally don’t edit ratings but give those a shot. Might be a completely redundant experiment though.

Ok I adjusted the Sixer player tendencies. I made all of Simmons jump shooting tendencies were 0. I also gave him a 70 dish to open player tendency.

Just played a game. He attempted 12 shots. All of them open court dunks, lay ups or flips around the rim. Not one jumper.

Cool, this is about what I got except, I adjusted his layups and attack and he continued to try and get shots. When the defense was good he would sometimes shoot turn arounds or fades. I have literally played them like 30 times. 10 min quarters.

Dirk, what about Embiid? Do they use him? In my games hes not receiving any more than 1 or 2 intentional attempts (post ups or set based) just the occasional offensive rebound put back or lead pass bucket.

It's really bad in MyCareer since you can't adjust sliders/tendencies, LeBron almost never calls for a screen at the top of the key and just posts up all game.
