I got one, take leave assignment completely out of this game. I refuse to pick up someone that doesn't shoot threes at limitless. It's dumb asf I get hit with a leave assignment in Mycareer for wanting someone like Simmons to shoot.

For us broadcast cam folks, I'd like some sort of defensive assist that'll keep our player at least guarding our matchup while offscreen. I had not knowing exactly where my matchup is, only to see them once their PG passes half court and they're sitting under the basket for an easy score.

Agreed. Actually, I wouldn’t mind further changes to that system. Leave assignment, bad block attempt, bad call for pass, good ball movement, allow offensive rebound, all proc at odd, inconsistent times. One of the worst is losing points for “lose ball” when you get fouled. The penalties for getting blocked and turnovers is pretty harsh too.

          Re: NBA 2K20 wishlist thread

A big wish for the last few years was to have 2+ myplayers going in the same career. A lot of us already build multiple characters, so it’d be nice to able to work on them both simultaneously. I’m imagining a 2K17-Orange Juice scenario where you’d be able to control either character in games.

Related to that, I’d love for them to allow the option to use some basic, pre-made characters in park/pro-am. This is not to replace the current system of using your created players in those modes, but would work alongside it.

Let’s say 2K makes available, for each position, two 85 overall characters that we could choose to play use in park/pro-am (again, you’d also have the option to your normal character(s)).

I’d like it for three reasons: (1) it’ll help to fill out team-comps... Found a few folks to squad up with? But none of them has a center? Bam, pre-made center for you to use; (2) it’ll allow folks with under-leveled characters to play and gain VC. A promise for 2k19 was being able to gain VC anywhere. Wasn’t true for folks under 85, because nobody will play with you in the park/pro-am; and (3) it would allow folks to experiment with different builds (especially if they rotated what was available).

The NBA has the best offseason out of all the sports and 2K fails to imitate that. I really hope they add an actual offseason to myplayer and then add some presentation to the offseason in MyLeague.

A small change I would love to see is a carousel when choosing jerseys. Have 3 jerseys on the screen, the previous, current, and next jersey. Some teams have a bunch of jerseys and it sucks when I have to scroll through all of them because I didn't know the one I wanted was coming next. Third world problem, I know, but it would be a nice little touch.

Full roster preview before selecting a team in play now. Sucks trying to play an online game only to realize your favorite players aren’t available.

                Especially when using historic teams.

Given how major free agency and trades are in the actual NBA, they need to find a way to implement the same feeling into the game. There should be a section in MyCareer and other modes highlighting all the news and action regarding trades and free agency.

I believe way back there used to be a rumor mill section, they should expand on that. Checking your "phone" in MyCareer with bare minimum details on roster moves just isnt doing it for me. I'm mainly a MyCareer/Park guy so I'd like to see more put into that.

                    I fully agree.
It has been frustrating trying to find out about roster moves in MyCareer. Unless you are actively viewing social media after every game, it is difficult to know about any player movement. A lot of time you go into a game then realize someone got traded when pre-game commentary mentions it. Then you either have to sift through league social media which is tiring or you have to go to player cards to find out who they got traded for. But both of those options only give small details. You won't know if there were multiple players on a team traded unless you go check on rosters.

They should add a league transactions section. That way we are able to see the complete details of trade without having to search for it. I would even like to be notified via text about any player movement. Especially would be cool if we could post a comment about it on social media or get asked about it in a interview.

                      Agreed here.

A few more lowhanging fuit ideas. (1) Let us replay the prelude (release more of the story in prelude too?). (2) It was great that Smoove got them to add in the stat ratings in the creation screen, so we can see how height/sweight/wingspan affects our ratings. A slight adjustment would be to directly show the stats as we adjust, rather than the bars, then having t hit square to see the actual numbers..

                          Re: NBA 2K20 wishlist thread

Some of the info will be the same as my last wishlist.

                          MyCareer:
I don't care for the whole underdog undrafted story where your character seems to be entitled and arrogant. Only undrafted story I liked was 2k15. Me personally I don't need some fictional linear storyline with celebrities. Just give me the full NBA experience with depth. I would ideally mix elements of last gen and 2k15.

-Bring back the Pre-Draft events and draft. If you don't add NCAA or HS back, then give me the draft combine, pre-draft workouts, draft interviews, then draft. But draft needs better logic. Where I still liked 2ks compared to Live. Where Live has you replacing draft pick and changes rest of draft and 2k just adds you on the team that drafted you. Live is more realistic, but changes the league too much for me. I would just want the team that drafts you to account for team need, fit, and player drafted irl.
-Summer League. It would add depth initially in the mode. Just like in last gen, if you really struggle, you'll get sent down to G-League.
                          - Higher Player OVR to start. One thing I definitely like better with Live is progression and how you start out. You start out at 70 and able to actually to perform like your archetype from the jump. You don't have microtransactions shoved down your throats. So I would like MyCareer to start out at 70 OVR with your physical abilities essentially almost at the soft cap. It isn't realistic seeing your speed go up 20+ points. So main thing I want to improve is intangible and archetype skills. If I'm a 3 & D player, I actually want to be able to defend and shoot 3s from the start. Also I would prefer the old individual rating boosts. I don't like the grouped ratings. I want full control of how I boost my player. Defintiely don't like my rating upgrades being pre-determined. I hated not knowing when I would get key rating upgrades. Especially when your one skill upgrade from unlocking animations. Allow ability to manually upgrade Free Throw and defensive ratings.
-Less Restrictive Archetypes. I'm a offline gamer. I don't like being so limited of how my player turns out. My main issue with Archetypes is your player is essentially a glorified player. No way a pure build should ever be a 99 OVR. Because realistically if you are only good at one skill, you most likely going to be a bench player or key role player. You have to rely on badges to make up for average secondary archetypes. You can't recreate current superstars or even role players. I want to create a unique player or be able to load player DNA and recreate a legend as a rookie.
-Cut the linear story line. I'm tired of the past couple storylines. I like the 2k15 where you mainly have interactions with NBA players. Problem was that most NBA players were terrible voice actors. Just give me the complete player experience. I want to have more interactions with players around the league, coaches/staff, and media. I want social media to have a bigger impact. We all know how big NBA Twitter is. I want to actually be able to have more control of posts and messages. I think it was 2k16 or 2k17 where we could actually message players. But it didn't have much impact. They could bring that back and have it tied into overall. So if your a 70 OVR and hitting up AD about forming a dynamic duo, he won't even respond or laugh at you. But if you a high 80-90s, you can almost have a Kawhi like impact. Also being able to communicate with players in Free Agency. Similar to 2k15 where players approached you about joining team. Where you can approach players about joining your team or pairing up on another. It could just be through messaging. Would like to more pettiness like real life. They can bring back key games. Where you can be called out by a opposing player before a game and you get bonus XP for out performing him.
-Manual Saves. That is one of the biggest small request I have. I don't like that we can't turn off Auto save. So many times I wish I could just go back and make a different decision. Especially in Free Agency. Since they don't show final rosters when your selecting teams, I'm on the fence on what team to pick. There is always a chance I would return if team made key signings.
-Better Team AI. It seems like your team(along with other teams) have poor roster management. So many times, I have been on teams or seen teams with an obvious logjam at a position. I been on a team with the 6th man to 10th man were PFs or Centers. Which leads to starters playing crazy minutes or obvious mismatch. Or your team has a big hole or liability that your team never fills. Frustrating knowing your team needs a back up PG and they never try to fill that need. Even if you gain the GM ability and request a trade for a back up PG, they might trade another bench player that create another hole. I wish we could suggest teammates to be traded off team. If we have a logjam, I would like to suggest one of them to be traded. Or if we have a player who don't fit team. I would actually like the abilty for teams to trade us. I think it was in 2k15 as well. Maybe we get traded because of poor team chemistry, or team isn't doing well so they want to rebuild and gain assets.
-Badges. For gameplay, still applies. There needs to be more defensive badges. They got rid of some defensive badges year ago along with not being able to upgrade On Ball D manually. I feel Defensive Stopper isn't as strong as it should be. They got rid of Post Anchor and Interceptor. Especially Post Anchor. With all the post badges, there isn't a counter. I have an idea for 2 defensive badges. Presence badge and Disciplined badge. Presence will allow you to lower the offensive player's shooting percentage on contested shots and increases their chances of turning over the ball. Discipline allows defender to not be faked out on pump fakes and to not get ankles broken. I think those two will help elitle defenders to stand out. They need to reduce the suction on screens. Pick dodger has been nerfed for years now because screens suction is too strong. They need to leave those hard screens for players with brick wall. I would like them to add ability to earn any badge or at least choose 1-3 additional badges.
-Miscellaneous. Have ability to be injured. If you over practice or spend too much time fatigue it increases your chances to get injured. Transactions section where it shows player movement. More body types. I hate always seeing the lean builds. I want to see the buff stocky Zion build or the slim Ingram build. More nicknames. Seperate Mycareer from Park and Pro/Am. Abilty to see roster moves teams made during free agency before deciding. Offseason needs something. Maybe challenge or play with NBA players in pickup games.

This should be left in the MyCareer Story mode. This will keep those who only care about grinding, exploiting and spamming the same moves away from those of us who really want to compete. This way you can make a max attributes "demi-god" player, but would be limited to this single player mode. Maybe even have a co-op mode where you can invite other MyPlayers to play with you or something

                            - MyPark/JRC

This may be controversial, but My Players should not be allow in these PVP modes. Like every other multiplayer (lets take Overwatch for instance) There should be multiple predefined characters at each position, that each person can select from. Since Im using Overwatch, if I want to go healer I can either use Mercy or Zenyatta both with their strengths and weaknesses. In 2K, once matchmaking ques up and before the match starts we pick our position and pick the skillset. Lets say I go PG. I can pick the Playmaker or Shot Creator for example. This way the Meta is easier to control, and skills with the character really do matter. Also you dont have to build up different players if you want to play another position. We also don't have to worry about Mike Wang tuning and hotfixing every week trying to balance 100s of different create-a-player builds

                            -MyPark/JRC Matchmaking

Bring back the real Rep System and make it actually matter. For JRC let your first 5-10 games be placement matches to put you in a tier group with other players that are in the same range. Games that are matched by rep can be Ranked. However also have an unranked mode for those who just want to chill and not deal with the tryhards all the time.

                            -Emotes/Clothes

These can stay as they are or however they want to do it. Keep the matchup sequence before the games start that they have now, and also have a winners sequence that shows all the stats/and emotes if they want (see OverWatch end of match sequence)

                            -Soundtrack

Only thing I would like to see is for them to go the NBA Live route, and remix the instrumentals while the games is playing, that way we can stream and upload videos with actual sound in them.
Almost time for some news to drop. I hope my MyPark wishes are implemented at the very least

99% of this is going to fall on empty ears or eyes i should say, regardless they need to work on this games engine, the motion and animations, they need to really work on the mechanics of these games, no point getting in depth unless a 2k dev comes in here and acknowledges that their going to take a look at these community wishlists.

                                Narrow/Focus The Archs

Simply put, too many archs can do things outside of what the arch was intended to do.
To hit shots consistently you should have to choose a build with a shooting focus (sharp, post, or shot creator)
If you are NOT a slasher you should NOT have access to flashy dunks OR contact dunks, nor should you be able to perform them in any scenario
Lockdowns greatest strength should be negating badges and contesting shots. blocks and steals still have to be well timed, not gifted
Sharpshooters should be limited to STAND STILL SHOTS. no moving shots, no drifting shots. NO DIFFICULT SHOTS BADGE at all. Limitless needs to be a badge that doesnt upgrade (like spark plug or gym rat) and only be active during takeover. Let me repeat that for the folks in the back: ***LIMITLESS SHOULD ONLY BE ACTIVE DURING TAKEOVER***. People shouldn't be hitting halfcourt shots consistently anywhere, park, rec, or proam. Difficulty on 3s needs to drop off a cliff at a certain point, like more than 2ft behind the line should be impossible to hit.

For Takeover: Remove the clear offensive foul push from glass cleaners and post scorers, remove the stuck ankle breaker/speed boost

The speed difference between playmakers and almost every other build already is an advantage of itself, no need to add a crippling ankle breaker. Same for post scorers, they wouldn't be overpowered if you took out the offensive foul takeover.

Force players to play their arch by making pure builds only good at what the build actually is. Having this system creates balance and forces a give and take during games thats a constant chess battle. This is ruined when players are allowed to consistently do things outside their arch. If we narrow the focus we also eliminate the cheese factor.

For example, making sharpshooters only have a good standing 3 and drastically lowering their moving 3, along with lowering their ability to dribble would all but eliminate the sharp exploits that currently exist in 2k19.

In exchange for this, sharpshooters should have more stamina and speed(not acceleration/big difference) to run around screens or just to keep moving to get open shots, ala reggie miller or ray allen. Also, the amount of time they need to be open, or the space they need to shoot should be buffed to compensate for the lack of dribbling/moving 3s.

If a player wants to be able to dribble and shoot or to shoot moving 3s they would and should be forced to make a hybrid build. This would sacrifice shooting for dribbling if they were a playmaker, or they could add the difficult shots badge (and thus moving 3s) by choosing a shot creator, but they would still lose a bit of shooting from beyond the arch in exchange for midrange and moving shots.

                                Sacrifice forces balance.

                                Badge Points

Ok, so NO, I don't think we need a third archtype choice. What I propose in place of that is to allow us to have what I call BADGE POINTS. Each Badge point goes toward upgrading our badge max level on a scale as follows:

                                HOF-3pts
                                GOLD-2pts
                                SILVER-1pt
                                BRONZE-1pt

This is how many badge points it costs to upgrade the max level of either a new badge, or an existing badge.

YES. You read that right. You get 5 badge points to use to either add a new badge you didn't previously have OR to upgrade your existing badges. So, in essence, you can either upgrade ONE existing badge from GOLD to HOF (costs 3 badge pts)and use the remaining 2 badge points to upgrade a BRONZE to SILVER (1pt each) or a SILVER badge to gold (2pts). Under this system you would be able to get a badge your build does not currently have and upgrade it all the way to GOLD level(and still have 1 badge pt to spare).

PURE BUILDS CANNOT USE THIS FEATURE.

This would allow for more badge balance, and support my idea of narrowing the focus of each arch. Also, this would support having unique playstyles and allowing players to choose their playstyle, strengths, and weaknesses.
