Re: MyLeague's problems MUST be addressed to save the gamemode
Nothing will be addressed until next years version and even then, it will be minimal. Face it, franchise/dynasty is dying in favor of quick online microtransaction modes. This is across all sports games the past few years. Madden, The Show, this game. Can't comment on NHL because I don't follow hockey but i imagine its just the same way.
We are just fans of a game mode being phased outCan't believe I been a member here this longComment

Re: MyLeague's problems MUST be addressed to save the gamemode
Not to mention the fact, that turning off the salary cap doesn’t actually turn off the salary cap considering there is still a cap on what I can offer players, and the fact that no matter what I do, the fact that I offer high-level free agents more than any other team, offer player options, no trade clauses, the works, I still can’t sign any max contract free agents, or their original team constantly matches their offer sheet. It is BS.

Re: MyLeague's problems MUST be addressed to save the gamemode
Has anyone ever tested the salary cap inflation slider? Maybe increasing that could mitigate some of the salary cap issues down the line?
Also I think the fact that 2k overinflates the ratings of the players might be the issue... There are way too many players in the mid 80s to upper 90s range and not enough players in the mid 60s to mid 70s range... With everyone being clustered together overall wise that probably plays a huge part in why teams tend to go way over the salary capComment

Re: MyLeague's problems MUST be addressed to save the gamemode
Obviously anything in this thread wont make it into 2k20 (that ship sailed 4 months ago) however for discussion purposes....
I honestly do not believe the mode is fit for purpose anymore. 2k have not had a meaningful overhaul of the mode for like 7 years and the game has evolved sooo much. Player empowerment / social media / player chemistry with individual players and coaches / big market vs small / emphasis on analytics / individual player developmebt and motivations / the role of agents etc are so much different now than they were when 2k put the engine out and that means I am having to do so much manual control of every other team to make it realistic that it stops feeling good when you win a title.
They should probably build it from the ground up. I will probably buy 2k20 but not for Myleague...I think my Myleague days are done.Comment

My league has only existed for four years what are you talking about? My league was introduced in 2k15 and it’s 10 times the mode of the old association modes.

Re: MyLeague's problems MUST be addressed to save the gamemode
The leap from the ps2 days to the ps3 for franchise mode in 2k was waaaaaay larger than the leap from last gen to current gen though.. there are a lot of things that either remained the same or took a step back... The ambitions have been in 2k in it's current status for years and is pretty barebones... There are so many other motivations that could be added to make free agency more dynamic... The news stories and rumors were handled better in the old association mode... The gleague feature was just reimplemented in 2k18 and is pretty barebones (you had the choice to play dleague games in 2k11)... Sure they've added new things every year but a lot of it is stuff that didn't make it over from last genComment

Re: MyLeague's problems MUST be addressed to save the gamemode
Do any of the contract and free agent sliders that are available at the beginning of MyLeage have any affect? I still haven't gone through an off season and am wondering if any of the issues from 2K18 can be differed by the sliders and options selected at the beginning of the mode?
Based on a lot of the complaionts above it sounds like nothing has changed in that department.Comment

My league is much deeper than the old franchise modes. There is much more user control in my league then there was the ps3/Xbox 360 era franchise modes.
Play the franchise mode in madden and tell me that anything in my league is bare-bones.

Right now, I have run into an issue where in the off-season, the CPU doesn't make ANY free agent offers and waits till the new season to sign players..

To be fair there are also a lot more bugs and issues too, there is a price for the added features. Some just straight up not working as intended.
This year I enjoyed the Madden franchise over 2K MyLeague. It's more simple, it works well and I haven't run into any issues, and the stock draft classes are pretty good.
With 2K, the stock draft classes I've found to be... really bad, ratings and tendencies that don't make sense, some position and sizing conflicts that again don't make sense, laughably bad signature animations or accessories, you get the idea. I shouldn't have to do as much correcting as I have to do in 2K.
So I think I'll take a barebones mode that has a very small amount of issues over the mode that has too many side features that simply don't work or is too complicated for the sake of trying to be impressive. Multiple threads here posted about the 99 tendency bug and badge mentor that went unfixed unfortunately... And I think there is also a bug when viewing the stats too.Last edited by m29a; 03-30-2019, 06:00 PM.Comment

Re: MyLeague's problems MUST be addressed to save the gamemode
Madden's actually works especially the online side. The problem with 2k is that they have a lot of tools but a lot of them barely work together. They also just add things w/o any real way for people to figure out how to optimize them. Like the sliders.
Guys spend months on end in the Roster section discussing and testing ways to get the league to work close to real life but by then the NBA season is over and naturally the desire to play the game isn't there for most.
1. They need to make it easier and faster to make changes on the roster for roster makers.
2. There needs to be a clear understanding of what tendencies effect what in the game
3. They should probably hire someone from the roster section that has years of experience tinkering with that stuff.
4. Everything wrong with 2k's stats to on the court issues is likely tide to the TENDENCIES.
