Speed and acceleration sliders unlock the game

Alright I have Gay (me) and Lopez (Cpu) running together at almost the same speed. Cross midcourt I hit the turbo button and Gay was noticeably faster.
I also felt the handles are smoother at 99/1.
Overall, I think the animations are too fast for me to react.

Ever since messing around with the sliders, i've noticed that some of them are just not realistic. I tweaked these sliders a while back and haven't played on default since. The 99/1 is a bit much for me personally, but I have mine at 77/20 and like you're saying there are noticable and realistic changes. There are a few sliders 2k has set, that are unrealistic at default tbh. Jumpshot defense strength (release), body up sensitivity, ect, just to name a few.

GOOD to see others have picked up on this. Popboy discussed the same slider tweaks on his YouTube channel a while back. . . I don't have mine set as high or low, good stuff nonetheless[emoji1421][emoji41]

For sure,I think it's mostly tweaking the sliders and game speed to personal taste.Personally I think it's crazy that such a simple adjustment noticeably improves gameplay and also helps to address some of the most common complaints.

Re: Speed and acceleration sliders unlock the game

I like the difference in term of speed and quickness but try to run the floor with Lopez, i’ll run like a robot with an unrealistic animation.
The same or worst with the ball.
The idea it’s good but you should have a good balance also for slower players.
I’m still thinking that the fastest are very too fast.
I’ll suggest an 80/20 for all

I was able to guard Westbrook and Paul George with Huerter and Prince on 70/30. Not on 99/1. Its like I just bought 2k20. Ha
I know why... The game is made for the general public. 2K doesn't want the teenage kid to know about mismatches and defensive rotations. So even if you've never played a game of basketball in your life. You should be able to jump on the sticks and play a pain free game. They keep adding little layers of things.

I've been seeing a lot of loose ball fouls the last few weeks.

This[emoji1432][emoji1432][emoji1432][emoji1432][emoji1432] doing so makes the game less of a headache. . . it's NOT cheating yourself if you do but why gamers think so is beyond me especially when the sliders are there for a reason, my sliders don't collect dust lol. . . online play is a different can of corn. . .

Man I would love to see this online. I made a 6’11 Center and the difference in speed and explosiveness compared to max size isn’t as noticeable as it should be. Especially when it comes to recovery on rotations. If someone drives and the behemoth covering me rotates to defend the rim and I get it dumped off to me at the side of the hoop, a 7’3 Boban shouldn’t be able to recover to block my shot with ease. It would certainly create a lot more diversity if there were more penalties for being big and slow at all positions.

Re: Speed and acceleration sliders unlock the game

I've been playing with these settings for a year. I can't go back to default its unrealistically slow. I would suggest doing what OP said if you're looking for an improvement. If you want to go one step further and make the speed match real life, I would increase the separate acceleration and speed sliders to 70. If you can live with sped up dribble/run animations. Here's a video I made comparing things to real life:

                          <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/ciTJDaB_lFM" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture" allowfullscreen></iframe>

Think they should tweak the animations going forward so that the players don't dribble as much. Like Giannis for example, he doesn't need this many steps to cover distance.

Just set mine to this. Thought the fast guys would be a little too fast, but they aren't, despite being a little faster than 77/20 obviously. Feels pretty smooth at 80/20.

Shot blocking is also a 1000 times better. Non defensive bigs dont fly around like Ben Wallace. That was huge problem on default. Amazing that the movement sliders would affect things like Shot blocking.
