Re: Speed and acceleration sliders unlock the game
2. It's an entirely different and more realistic game now. The smaller players have faster layup and jumping animations. The slower guys have slower ones. It's actually a liability to have slow bigs on the floor. Just being tall no longer makes you a rim protector.
3. I have seen a ton of new animations, and the defensive rotations have improved.
It's almost like the game was not made for the default movement sliders. On 99/1 the only things that need correcting are the live ball and shooting. I am upset it took me this long in the cycle to play this way.Psn: Alabamarob

Re: Speed and acceleration sliders unlock the game
Mentioned this in another thread but it seems relevant so I'll post in here too. Along with the min/max sliders. If you lower "reaction time" attributes across the board, players are more grounded and not able to recover as quickly on defense. So the difference between slow and fast players is even more accentuated. Doing more testing but that's what I've noticed so far.Comment

Re: Speed and acceleration sliders unlock the game
I might have stumbled on something to help with the sliding and other issues, if some more guys are willing to test it out:
Body Up Sensitivity
Layup Defense(Takeoff)
Layup Defense(Release)
Jumpshot Defense(Gather)
Jumpshot Defense(Release)
Try setting all of these to 80 and see how it feels.Comment

1. It was the Mr. Wrestling OP who put me on to 99/1.

Props to Mr Wrestling.
Something for us to start off with next year though.
Live ball was cool until they patched it...shooting is always a tweak job because that constantly changes too.
I've used it on PC.. and yeah man I don't feel like im fighting with my controller to just move forward.
It was also cool to send a pass out to Robert Covington on the break for a transition 3, where he took the correct 2 steps into the shot. Felt great
I just need a roster with the new rooks and its onComment

I only touched the jumpshot gather defense, reducing it so it wouldnt be a hassle to just get a shot off without it being heavily contested every time by the heuristics.
Those sliders along with movement matters alotComment

Man I had already lowered Body up because it was too strong

If you are looking for less of an effect from contests though, I think the jumpshot release slider is the one you want.Comment

Re: Speed and acceleration sliders unlock the game
Yh I tweaked my jumpshot defense sliders a while back. It's just not realistic on default. I left the jumpshot gather defense stength at 50, but I lowered the jumpshot release defense strength by 20, putting it at 30. What this does for me is make shooting outcomes much more realistic, as if you contest early you'll have more effect on the shot, but things like late close outs, late contest or just standing near a shooter will always have much less effect on his shot and result in a open/light contest. This allows you to nail more contested shots like we see in the NBA...especially with good shooters. I could never go back to default jumpshot defense strength sliders at 50/50.Last edited by WarMMA; 06-22-2019, 03:18 AM.Comment

The release sliders pretty much literally does what it says,it affects how strong an active contest is.I tried putting it to 0 and even with a good defender inside my jersey shots only registered as Lightly Contested.Upping these make it a little harder to shoot through contact, and at the same time gave me different shot contest and shot block animations(the ball travelled a bit more realistically in the air). Again I need to play with this more to see if it can help with the "blocked shot always goes back to the offense" problem.Comment

Re: Speed and acceleration sliders unlock the game
Give these a try, it really reduces the unrealistic recover and sliding.
Speed Without Ball(Max) 90
Speed Without Ball(Min) 20
Acceleration without Ball(Max) 90
Acceleration without Ball(Min) 20
Speed With Ball(Max) 99
Speed With Ball(Min) 20
Acceleration With Ball(Max) 99
Acceleration With Ball(Min) 20True bout my business, Mane!Comment
