Re: Official 2k20 MyPlayer Build Thread.
With how position less the NBA is going, I don't why 2k based these caps strongly off of position and height. I definitely think there should be balance. But If I make the same build with everything the same but position, I don't think there should be a big disparity. Where if compare two 6'6 200lb with same wingspan Two Way players, there shouldn't be a big difference in badges if the only difference is one is a SG and other is SF.
It really feels like guard is the way to go this year. They seem to get more attribute points and badge points. I'm curious to see what additional pies they add. With them setting attribute caps, it still would have same limitations. I can see them buffing SFs though. But most of the pies in demo was either "pure" or "dual" archetypes. So not sure if they will add more variety to buildsComment

Re: Official 2k20 MyPlayer Build Thread.
I really don’t understand why 6’5” shooting guards are the best builds in the game and why they get more attribute points and badges.
I’ve said it 100 times in this thread alone, the best players currently and historically are between 6’6” and 6’10”.
2k needs to either nerf, which would be my suggestion, 6’5” guards, or buff everything above 6’5”. Also, make it where every build gets equal points to spend.
It’s sad that my guy said he made a Kawhi build, but to get anywhere close to a Kawhi build he had to drop his height, and likely weight, to well below anything that makes this build Kawhi like.
The reason Kawhi is Kawhi is because he is able to do the things he does at his height, weight, and position.
If you can’t create a Kawhi build at his height, weight, and position you aren’t creating a Kawhi build, more of a Patrick Beverly build.

Kawhi is able to do what he does because of his wingspan, strength and very large hands not athleticism.Comment

I made him 6’7. It’s not perfect but badges helped . Reminds me of my two way SC really .
What takeovers do you guys like ? Lock takeover almost seems pointless against the A.I. Was thinking of trying the slashing#1 Laker fan

Re: Official 2k20 MyPlayer Build Thread.
I didn't think it would be so difficult for some people to understand the reason why shorter players get more attribute points to spend is because you can't buy height. Height has dominated the game for years, regardless of rating. Had friends that had freshly made 7'3 centers with no VC pumped into them and could hold their own just fine in pro-am. All 3 times I've messed with centers in the demo have been some of the easiest triple doubles I've ever gotten in any 2K game before with the pure lock getting 34pts/22reb/13ast/6blks. 3 and D does goofy **** like this with no chasedown artist https://streamable.com/krua8. It seems like they raised the penalties for being taller for no other reason except to enlarge the court without having to through and re model all of the arenas right before a new console generation starts. Hell, the WNBA mode to me looks like good fun just because the average size of the players is so much smaller and the court looks wide open.Last edited by DakkoN; 09-02-2019, 04:18 PM.Comment

The question then would be, why give an advantage to 6’5” players and not just adjust the size of the avatars in game. If you’re just doing the boost and nerf to enlarge the court.
That would be a simple fix and you wouldn’t need to boost or nerf any height.

Re: Official 2k20 MyPlayer Build Thread.
Picked up Skyrim again the last week. Ive built two entirely different characters with about 30 hours on each.
While its apples to oranges, and the climate right now on microtransactions. The fact that game still holds up a decade later was the pure joy in playing how you want.
I went super heavy magic at first, but didnt have dlc so I hadnt started the Dawnguard line yet and dumped him for a tougher more survivable character. Point is, i started the DLC and it allowed me to find use for that other character again.
Alot of us want to try different things, and play the game how we naturally think we can excel. But all the sudden, halfway through 2K changes something and we all have to start again. This shouls be a natural exploration, not having entire builds innefective for a whole year.
I hope we can find some kind of balance this year.Comment

Yeah, last year I sometimes had to wait up to 20min with my guard for bigs to fill up. With my PF I had games instantly...Gonna start with a C for sure this year.Comment
