Do you think that Giant Slayer or Acrobat is more effective for finishes in the paint?

Also, I'm starting to think the key could also be the slithery finisher badge, as that may unlock the cheesy animations where shots go through your block .

Its the only way I can explain how I can see 6'3 PGs finishing in traffic better than my 6'7 SF and I've already beaten the defender with the gather.

Blowing easy layups is driving me crazy rn. Lot of labbing to do lol

      43 rebounds is disgusting lol

Its amazing how low the IQ of some of the people on Rec is.

Centers leaving the paint wide open, never boxing out.. its ridiculous.

I'm finding this too.. Centers seem to be able to recover from being beaten on the perimeter and even on the interior too well.

I'd love to see a bigger speed nerf for them or at the very least lateral quickness.

If I have the shoulder and a clean lane for a finish, theres no way they should be contesting me so much lol.

I have gold quick first step and blow past Centers frequently but the recovery means best option is to just pass it out every time.

I grab boards fine on my smaller Center. I just don’t feel like there’s really any significant advantage to being smaller. The speed difference is negligible in practice. I recorded my 6’10 Center running next to Boban. Despite having 40 more speed than him and 50 more acceleration, I wasn’t noticeably faster at all. I created a 7’3 Center yesterday. He definitely feels a bit less nimble, especially on the perimeter, but he moves around the paint just fine on defense and is basically the same speed in transition for some magical reason.

Yeah it’s definitely disappointing. 7’3 Centers have been the gold standard for years so you’d hope by now that 2K would do more to limit them. Like you said, significantly downgrading their lateral speed would help but also making them a bigger liability in transition would be big. It’s bizarre because 2K does nerf their attributes in those categories. It just doesn’t appear to mean anything during actual gameplay. It’s like the floor for speed and quickness is 60 and anything below that just gets bumped up.

Some insight needed on sharp / defender

              5 finishing badge upgrades.

I’m running gold contact and silver consistent . Been hearing good things about slithery finisher and fancy footwork .

              Also 10 playmaking upgrades

Gold down hill and quick step are locks . Leaves me with 4 to play with ... keep in mind my handles are in the mid 60s

Other than contact and consistent, my favourite finishing badges are pro touch and acrobat, which seem more effective than the others to me.

Re playmaking, you could try unpluckable if you aren't into dribbling or post play.

Ya I think this has something to do with the park speed changes or something.

It'd do a lot to force half court offence too, which is frightfully rare in Rec lol

                    Is Consistent Finisher actually effective?

Might have to go for it... I've never had issues with timing layups until 2k20 and I keep getting early releases when trying to do changes of shot type after the gather...

I get 7 badge slots on finishing and have Contact on Gold, Acrobat on Silver and have yet to unlock the next 2.

Was thinking Fancy Footwork or Pro Touch..?

Re: Official 2k20 MyPlayer Build Thread.

Looking for some insight about the best badges for a 6'7" Slashing Playmaker. Last year, I had a 6'10" Playmaking Slasher, but I've changed it up this year because I wanted to be able to shoot when necessary. I am capable scorer and I take smart shots, but I'm happier getting my teammates involved.

So I have 27 Playmaking Badges, 15 Finishing, 6 Defensive/Rebounding, and 6 Shooting. What would be an ideal combination for someone who is more pass first and isn't an iso/dribble god type of player? I was thinking this:

                      Finishing
                      Acrobat (Gold)
                      Contact Finisher (Gold)
                      Relentless Finisher (Gold)
                      Fancy Footwork (Silver)
                      Giant Slayer (Silver)
                      Slithery Finisher (Silver)

More times than not, when I score, I'm finishing at the rim. I was great with acrobatic finishes last year and I like the occasional contact dunks. This is where I would do most of my scoring.

                      Playmaking
                      Dimer (HOF)
                      Floor General (HOF)
                      Needle Threader (Gold)
                      Unpluckable (Gold)
                      Handles for Days (Silver)
                      Tight Handles (Silver)
                      Quick First Step (Silver)
                      Ankle Breaker (Silver)
                      Flashy Passer (Silver)
                      Lob City Passer (Silver)
                      Downhill (Bronze)

My bread and butter is playmaking. HOF Dimer and Floor General together are dope and I love that I get to see percentages with HOF General. I may play around with making them Gold once I max out my badges, but I think the difference between Gold and HOF is significant. Needle Threader is another badge that I'd like with squeezing passes into tight windows. As I stated, I'm not a dribble god, but can break down my defender when I need to, which is why most of the dribbling badges are silver (got by just fine last year with mostly silver playmaking badges). Downhill is a badge that I considered putting up higher, but I'm not sure.

                      Defensive/Rebounding
                      Clamps (Silver)
                      Intimidator (Silver)
                      Interceptor or Pick Pocket (Silver)

Nothing much to say here. Wanted to be capable on and off the ball. My defensive rebounding is actually high (I want to say it's in the mid to late 70s), but I'm a 2 guard so there was no point in equipping rebounding badges.

                      Shooting
                      Range Extender (Gold)
                      Quick Draw (Silver)
                      Catch and Shoot (Bronze)

I'm comfortable with Silver Quick Draw, but may play around with Gold and push Range Extender down to silver.

                      Thoughts?

Consistent pops up a lot for me, much more than any other finishing badge.

But maybe it's just me sucking with the timing lol.

I don't really work from the post with this build since I'm running point and not necessarily looking to (as my coach would say) "massage" the basketball lol.

Man I HATE my build. I hate him to death. It's the worst build I ever made in my entire 2K playing days. A 6'5 scoring machine but he cant score. I mean brick after brick after brick. Gold Unpluckable and still getting RIP.

I dont know what to do. I'm not starting over. Dont have the patience nor time to. My build is just trash, straight busara for online play. I should just delete him and play My League like usually do. This year just isn't it for me.
