having to create badges to counter the imbalance of other badges...

How many badges are we limited to?

Coz this system will only work if we're limited to no more than 3 gold 2 silver and 5 bronze badges or some sort of limit like that.

this whole thing is down the toilet.

I read that some builds will have more badges than others, and that its determined by where you place your attribute caps.

so basically there will be like 5 builds with the best badge combos that everyone will use and that will be the meta.

then once everyone abuses it, it'll get patched, and then there will be a new one.

I wish 2k would do more to be wary of the cycle of MyPlayers and be smarter about how to actually back up the claims that they want to create a fun, balanced mode.

2k seem to be entertaining ISO dribblegawd players behind 3 screens while stretch 4s launch from half court - despite saying they want to create a sim basketball game.. confusing.

I was hoping the badge distribution would be like that of APF2k8. 2 gold/HOF tops and the rest silver or bronze. Guess we find out next week...

People are ALWAYS going to abuse the mechanics, builds, and strategies that give them the best chance to win.

Whatever build I make for my wing player (SG/SF) I'm definitely going to have all the defensive badges I need.



Then, I'm definitely making a Julius Randle for fun build. Can play Small ball 5. Shooting Threat. First step to beat closeouts. Just a good enough dribbler to blow by opposing big men. Great rebounder. Can't block shots, but can contest shots at the rim.



We'll see what the demo/beta gives us to play around with. Should be fun.

I'm in love with this system. You get to pick what you want your max caps to be. You get to pick badges. You get to pick the takeover. Keyword in all of this is YOU.


As in, if you getting dropped off consistently, then it's YOU that picked the wrong build. Not 2k, but you.



As for my player, I'm making him in the mold of Durant. Tall lanky foward. Put emphasis on mid range shooting, defense, and playmaking. Put enough points in finishing so I can put gold or maybe hof contact finisher on him

Reality sucks, huh?

I'm just glad that there are people (Czar, Wang-in his own special way, OG, etc) that still care about the NBA side of things. Next week is pretty much going to be the hype train for MyPlayer and the Park. What sucks is that the MyPlayer news won't help me gauge the true impact of the gameplay changes due to the fact that the whole MyPlayer mode is a totally different world to how people think about basketball games.

Next year, I wouldn't be surprised if YouTubers are allowed to create their MyPlayer ahead of time, so they can exclusively use their MyPlayer for the community event.

I'm already looking at this with my big girl brain formulating ideas and plans. Depends on if girls can poster people(I know guys, unrealistic, don't @me. A girl can dream).

99 percent of these dudes aint never dunked a basketball.Let alone posterized someone, so the female players should have the same fake attributes.
