I was fully prepared to skip MyCareer this year. But this year, we have full control of how we want to build our player. Last 4 years, I regretted my builds. 2k16 I had a Big, but didn't realize that there was no point on upgrading Rebound, so my player wouldve been better than he was. 2k17 Pure LDD wasn't strong enough for my liking. 2k18 I tried some thing different and ending up not liking it. 2k19 I had my preferred 3 & D build as a PF, but still felt limited. I only really commit to one build per year and don't but VC. But this year if you dont like your build its on you. Especially with the MyPlayer Builder. It is awesome that you can test out your build before you commit, so no excuse why you can't have a build you like

you seem to have a habit of not noticing that my comments are typically directed at 2k...

in this case, my issue is not with people discovering and exploiting the meta, but 2k not doing enough to ensure that process is unattractive.

a simple thing like limiting badges will mean personal, strategic choices would have to be made.. now the choices made will still be dictated by rating / badge combos that will be popularised and proliferated on youtube and twitter.

2k could've gone all in on the notion of creating MY player not agent/shake/brutal's player but they half assed it and it's gonna lead to a lot of angry comments and bad press...

My comment still stands...ultimately, whatever NBA 2K attempts to do to "balance" the game, there will be always be a group of people who will find a way to exploit it. Do you think "unbalance" and "cheese" is unique with the only the popularity of MyPlayer? Players trying to abuse the mechanics, builds, and strategies that give them the best chance to win is not a new concept.

Mike did say in the gameplay blog that some badges they added were "Neighborhood-specific", so maybe that's a good sign, but I don't like the sound of a lot of these badges AT ALL.

Yeah the badges this year have gotten out of hand. I thought the whole point of them was to represent a skill that can't really be done through attributes (I'm still salty Charge Card was removed). Most of these new badges are redundant and only serve to boost the already unrealistically high shooting percentages.

Hot Zone Hunter is another funny one; a shooting boost for shooting in a spot that... already gives you a boost for shooting there lol.

Another reason I don't see why people were complaining Lockdown or defensive badges. Shooters will be the meta for this year.

Hot Spot bonus + Hot Zone Hunter + Dimer + Green Machine + Excellent Release.......

I don't know how ANYONE is going to be able to play defense in MyPark and ProAm. I usually dabble in those modes every year, but damn. The more and more I read, the more I might 100% skip the mode this year.

Also Other shooting badges that might stack plus Dimer badge.

I don't play Online, but I would definitely skip it this year. Hopefully they didn't go crazy om NBA Players.

Bro I can't get over the badge that REWARDS you for a bad release. Like what were they thinking with some of these? They know how much people like to abuse stuff and find the easiest way to win and you're just giving them extra crutches. I'm probably overreacting, but I just don't get the idea behind these...

Just hope we have control over the game and it doesn't play like a movie. It doesn't sound that way but these badges make it sound like they have put in a tone of new animations
