Technically, MyCareer is a RPG game. Like any RPG game, you start out with nothing, and you have to build/grind your characters accordingly. What fun would Final Fantasy be if you could get all the good weapons/spells/items within the first 3 hours of the game?

And let's be real...MOST videogames have some form of a progression model.

yeah i know but does NBA live 19's The One has microtransaction or skill points by game performance for increase their created player attribute rating ? if you play bad in NBA game then your coach will not let you play more minutes and sit on the bench until game finish then see how good is your game performance : if it is bad then VC give you less like 500 based on your teammate grade

It looks like they really put an emphasis on the story. I can't remember how far I got into 2k19s story, but I'll definitely see this one to the end.

Personally, I only played 10 games of the first season then stopped. I just can't get into playing against the AI in any sports games. Correct me if I'm wrong, I figured that would be 95% of the storyline and everything else would be mostly cameos. The NBA 2K19's storyline got me fired up, because the one dude was just working on my last nerves. Loved the scene about the fireworks, lol.

I don't believe so, but NBA Live is in a different situation to be fair. They're just trying to be relevant again. In a different timeline where if NBA Live and NBA 2K were the 1 and 2 top basketball games, I can't see NBA Live NOT implementing some form of microtransactions in their game. They tried to implement loot boxes in Battlefront 2.

Would prefer more generic story we could have multiple story lines.

1. 5 star recruit coming out of high school dealing with the pressure of being a #1 pick. (You don’t get to chose what team drafts you)

2. Fringe player making his way through the G league (you get to choose what team you want to be.)

3. Foreign player (Luka Doncic) who has to adjust to living in the states.

This would make multiple play throughs interesting

I cant really say much about the Mycareer mode , because I dont really play it to be honest, so am just here to show my appreciation for the hard work and dedication the team over at VC is doing withing 7 months or so of development...start studded line up of actors/actress in this mode...plus the production level is very impressive

well done 2k!!!

I'm really liking how the story is looking. It looks to be the most In depth we had. I still don't like that we can't get a realistic nickname. Che isn't as bad, but wish we got a better name. Love that Rosario Dawson is in it lol.

Hopefully it last longer then the whole "Prelude" style story as previous years.

Seems like to me that NBA 2K is trying to make those COD yearly numbers, so the generic storyline wouldn't appeal to a large group of people. The people that don't care about storylines can just skip the cutscenes, but this is geared towards people that don't mind "dabbling" with MyCareer; however, these people are not full-blown fans of the mode that eventually leads to MyPark and ProAm.
