I’ve played 10 or 11 games now on All-Star. Game is a lot of fun. Double teaming doesn’t always happen but when it does it’s overdone and annoying.

I really feel All-Star has been made easier. FT shooting definitely is. It’s a lot easier to get to the paint and I love the new quick step and dribble system. But it’s also made it a lot more of a points in the paint type of game. Especially since outside shooting seems tough. The cpu is ice cold from the outside on all star. Just messing with sliders but I don’t think there is anything we can’t fine-tune offline other than the double teams.

Game looks great and really enjoying it. Taking a star player when matches against a scrub can be a lot of fun. Was breaking some ankles with guys in good matchups.

That’s my whole point! Thank you for saying it. It’s not broken, but super overpowered

I played scrimmage to get a feel for the game then I had friends over to play head to head HOF. Best playing game of 2K basketball by far!!!!!

I love how speed is properly represented to reflect the real NBA!!! Try staying in front of a Westbrook, Kyrie or Kemba... In real life you can't! They will get to where they want to go in the real NBA and it should be know different in 2k. Previous iterations did a subpar job with the stonewalling and having mediocre defenders playing like prime Kawhi. They rectified it this year. You have to be more strategic with your matchups and maybe tweak your settings to have help.

The defensive ace settings properly represent the real NBA as well. Some teams switched automatically just like they do in real life. This created opportunities to further take advantage of matchups. There were many times when I had my 4 or 5 matched up against a small point guard on the block and I was able to truly punish those matchups! (Realistic)

With poor defenders not properly guarding, they get exposed revealing the beauty of the gameplay. Bad defensive teams are bad and you may have to overcompensate to stop certain guys. It is much more refined than 2k18 where anyone with a heartbeat could initiate a blow bye. 2k19 overcompensated last year where below-average defenders could guard their position (stone walling, bump steals etc).

This year it is wonderfully done! It is just beautiful for elite dribblers to break down their man (if they are a weak defender) and create opportunities for himself or for a teammate.

Kyrie is a killer on this game... A killer!!! It will be a field day if you ask a poor defender to guard him. (Even on HOF) 1 of my friends doesn't play a lick of on-ball defense and he paid for it! No longer will he be able to click off and expect the computer to stay in front of an elite dribbler. (Thank you 2k!)

Next... I love how the badges further differentiate players like never before!!!! They further created separation to make players as unique as possible.


I love that Kyrie has the first step, handles for days etc. It is a true read and react system where you can read the defender and use their momentum against them. The computer will sometimes bite on the slightest movements and you can explode by them providing the ball handler. This was on HOF where one game I was abusing the Portland Trailblazers killing them with hesitations and blowbys.

First Step, handles for days, hot zone hunter, Green machine, Unpluckable etc. Giant slayer... Lebron had downhill, etc. I pulled off a play with Kyrie and 6 badges fired off lol. Nice touch as well that they included badges for certain players where you are not penalized so harshly for not shooting with perfect form all the time. (Flexible release and quick release)

I then tested Kyrie against the Pelicans and it was a different story! It was much harder to shake off Ball and Holiday. I have so many more thoughts and observations...

This game is the closest imo that they have gotten to properly representing how the NBA really plays! I can't reiterate this enough.

Speed is properly represented and individuals play more like they do in real life.

1 tip that I will offer is to put the directional pad up and play where you can see the badges display. You will further get an appreciation for how much more refined and realistic the game is.

Gameplay-wise, it stands on its own and does not play anything like 2k19. I pray and hope the gameplay isn't patched into oblivion.

NBA 2K20 Gameplay at this version is a Classic already. I hope none gets changed for the sake of crybabies.

Gameplay has come leaps and bounds. Best ever.

I like the game also. My only complaints at this point are Offensive Rebounding, Lack of turnovers and the cpu making to many contact layups. But of course that is HOF vs. The cpu. I bet it plays great user vs user.

The perimeter shooting of the cpu is more realistic this year, and I love the slower shot realeases.

Not only this, but I noticed the full court double team is gone in play now. Scored relentlessly with Curry, and the cpu only doubled when it made sense. Also is the shot meter larger now?

The 2K10 was able to adjust with tuning, you can't tune this one out, If the dev say it's a bug, then it's a bug. Especially when he said the engineer has to fix it.

The game feels so good so far but I have a MAJOR gripe for a sim gamer like me (maybe it's only annoying to me).

Do we really have to press an extra button to call a play now? so it's LB then RB (wasn't there last year) then the button for the player you want the play called. Its the same also to select which player you want to set a pick n roll.
I thought it was too clunky last year but now it's even worse.
Calling a play takes waaaay to much time on the shotclock now for me.

I hope this can be patched and someone feels the same way

You can set your favorite plays to happen with just a button push in the game plan settings instead.

That was you don't have to hit the extra button if you don't want.

It's actually easier to call a play the way it is now

You can change the freelances the same way.

so far I like 2k20 more than 17-19. only played a few play now NBA games.

what I especially like is the WNBA aspect. 2k more than out did them selves with this just being an additional game mode. This is a great year one add on. This may actually help with the marketing of the WNBA. the game-play is that good. I even like the presentation.

I play 2k with my daughter, and she's always asked where are the girls. she will be very excited when I show her this.

I hope 2k will expand with this in the future. I wouldnt mind seeing a gm mode/ my league mode.

Does anyone know how to disable the takeover icons. I dont mind the mechanic but i dont need a giant res circle to show that someone is hot. We could disable displaying them in 19. If it is not possible in 20 i hope it is something that can be patched. At least give us the option

Honestly this is the best looking 2K since 2k14 in my opinion. The player models are good. The emotion on players faces, the tattoos, hair. All amazing. The lighting is so much better also.

The gameplay is much improved. Presentation is good as always. I love the dribbling system. It’s challenging but once you get the hang of it, it feels really rewarding. Really fun game !

Cleveland is a fun team to run with. They have so many young guards. Garland, Sexton, Porter Jr..

Game seems faster today and no dumb doubles in my last game played. I have played enough to notice it feels different
