I think I'm just gonna stick with text based sports games like OOTP and Front Office Football if I want a deep franchise/team building experience... They actually care about the product that they put out and those games are way more realistic and have way more immersive features that adds to the replay value... If you can get past the fact that you can't play the games themselves those games are way more fun and rewarding... You can have classic leagues and players as well... The learning curve may be steep but those games are worth a whirl on PC

Just FYI that:

1. You can play MyGM offline if you want.
2. You don’t need VC to play MyGM.
3. You couldn’t use a custom roster last year in MyGM either.
4. The MyGM settings and draft classes appear to be standardized to provide the same environment so you can compete against other MyGMs if you choose to under the same parameters.
5. You never have to look at the leaderboards if you don’t want to.

Aside from being limited by action points, the main difference is you can’t use custom sliders and game settings, draft classes or sim to the end of season.

That seems to be the biggest drawback.

Yes you absolutely could use custom rosters and draft classes in MyGM last year if you played the traditional mode... You could also edit player equipment and shoes in the mode as well... No one ASKED for this leaderboard BS at all... No one asked for a mode with literally no customization at all... It wouldn't be an issue if they had kept the traditional mode as an option instead of completely removing it like they did for the MyGM story mode in 2k18... They fix stuff that isn't broken meanwhile the legacy issues get largely ignored... MyGM 2.0 has some promise but overall it took a huge step back... I mean it's slow and restrictive...

In 2k18 they had the story MyGM...in 2k19 traditional and story MyGM...Why was it so hard to keep traditional MYGM? What was the point of it?

I’m not saying I prefer it but the main thing I wanted to point out was you can play offline and you don’t need VC.

Would it have too much trouble to set quarter minutes, and anything outside of six minute quarters disabled your ability to get on the leaderboards? I mean, you can't even Simcast at the proper minutes set, and the score adjustment setting to match 12 minute quarters is off? Development had to know this would cause problems with the consumer.

I'm staying on 19 for now... It doesn't look like 20 is worth it with all of the issues I've seen... Especially with double teams being an issue like it was in 17... It seems like the game has taken a huge step back even with some of the improvements they made... It's kind of a net negative until we get a few patches... 2k20 is a basically a beta that people have paid for the privilege to play... I don't get why 2k doesn't wait to release the game until October tbh... Especially when it's released totally broken year after year... No game is perfect but I REFUSE to pay for another game that is broken right out the gate

I'm staying on 19 for now... It doesn't look like 20 is worth it with all of the issues I've seen... Especially with double teams being an issue like it was in 17... But Zion Williamson is in this game... They probably spent more time on just his Cyber Face than they did on MyLeague during this past year...

The silence from 2k on MyGM is quite something, not a word from anyone. It’s laughable. They treat those of us who buy these games almost with contempt.

MyGM was trash last year. 2k18 was the last great MyGM year.

Did you play the story mode MyGM? The vanilla MyGM was just fine. This issue could easily be solved by simply reinstating that vanilla version of the mode.

I remembered it being trash regardless of mode. MyGM isn't fun. The only thing I wish we can do is get the boosts in MyLeague. I also noticed the staff improves in MyGM but doesn't in MyLeague

Each to their own but the things you mention as well as player conversations are what brought the mode to life over what is offered by MyLeague.

The lack of options doesn’t even make sense in most cases. I can’t turn off auto scouting, huh?
Get this, you have access to gameplay sliders in game, meaning you can cheese and Win all the games you play anyway.
Just give us options, action points aren’t that restrictive on easy or medium and there are cool things here like maxing relationships gets you bonuses, maxing your assistant GM gives you an extra action per day. We just need options and more control.
Oh and there is a big bug with off season team options.

6 min quarters mean your team and players stats are way off with the rest of the league, right? For me, I’m a stats junkie so that’s a killer for a start.
